I am extremely disappointed with the customer service I received with balance wellness. I had my first prenatal massage appointment November 21st with Tammy which was a lovely massage and booked a second appointment for December 20th. A few days after booking I realized I was unable to make the appointment, because I had family in town and called to cancel November 28th. The call went to voicemail and I left a detailed message to cancel the appointment and why I was no longer available. I never received a call back. A few weeks later I called again to try to rebook a couples massage and the call went to voicemail. I did not leave a voicemail this time as I was running errands and wanted to speak to someone about the booking. I received email for the missed appointment and was charge for $164. I called to discuss what happened and got their voicemail again. I left a voicemail for their manager to call me back and received a called from Julie a couple days later telling me she'd speak to Ben the owner about it. I sent them a screenshot of my call log, so they could see I made the calls. Julie called back to inform me that there's nothing they could do about it, except offer me half off a couples massage. Julie added they have had issues with their phone systems, but didn't know the dates they were having issues. If you are having issues with your phone system that's not my fault. You should take accountability and make it right for the customer. If you don't have a receptionist to answer calls and you have known phone system issues you need to provide others ways of booking/canceling appointments. read more

I told her the issues I was having with my neck and shoulder pain and some tingling in extremities which I contribute to sitting at a desk working on a computer. I've visited Balance several times and have always been highly satisfied with the experience. They've been around for several years and have a great take on how to *balance* affordability, advanced therapy, and relaxation in the work they do. Their new office location is nicely tucked away in some very nice office condos. It's right on Williams drive so it's very convenient, but it's a very quiet office space. There is a nice seating area as you enter, but every time I've arrived for an appointment my therapist has always been there to greet me with a smile. I have been highly pleased with every massage I've received at Balance. All of the therapists have great pressure- which can be hard to find for those of us who like deeper work. The included use of hot towels and aromatherapy was a nice bonus. The music was on point- good massage music should sound nice when you listen for it, but blends into the background when you "zen out"... The techniques were great- not something you'd normally have available to you at a typical spa or franchise. I've had the Balance therapists use trigger point therapy, myofascial release, assisted stretching, and more... and it's all blended into the relaxation strokes. Plus, Ben is a certified personal trainer so he can give you tips on strengthening the weak muscles, and stretches for lengthening the tight ones. Ben gives a great massage and has personality for miles. His warmth and confidence definitely make him cut out for this work. Their membership plan is absolutely brilliant. Come in for a massage every month and get 25% off your massages ($59 for a full hour). No contract or credit card on file. Super simple. If you stop coming as frequently, you just pay their standard fees. Book the next one within a month, and you're back to the membership prices. Plus, the franchise in town recently raised their monthly minimum membership to $70- with a contract... oh yeah, and it's what they call a "professional hour"... only 50 minutes. Balance is a unique approach to massage therapy. The expected massage experience is there, but they put a ton of emphasis on the therapeutic aspects of the work. This is the place to go if your massage goals are for both relaxation AND pain relief. It's nice to have a place where they'll spend the time to make sure your goals are being met. Massage chains offer low prices, but their "value" goes out the window if the overall massage experience isn't what you're looking for. Spas are great places to get pampered, but their massage service fees can be... well let's just say "restrictive"... I have had massage for over 35 years, and literally, all types, all over the world. Chelsea is AMAZING. Best Christmas gift from my brother - was a 90 minute hot stone massage and once there I added a 30 minute hot oil scalp massage. HEAVENLY. Chelsea is such a healer, so in tune. She is quiet and respectful, but will say soft instruction such as breath deep and exhale, I'm now wrapping your scalp in a warm towel, etc....small prompts, but not at all intrusive. She has taken extra hours/classes in hot stone, and WOW - it was so much more involved than any other. She used stones on pressure points, I can go on and on about the scalp massage. I had a 75% tear of my left rotator cuff resulting in frozen shoulder syndrome. I couldn't move my shoulder, and I could not lift my arm at all. The joint had "frozen" due to scar tissue as a result of the tear. It was so stiff and painful, I often couldn't sleep at night. After several months of professional physical therapy under an orthopedist's care, I had made very little progress, and my shoulder remained painful and incapacitated. I gave up on the physical therapy and felt I had no options. I decided to try massage therapy and went to another therapist before finding Ben, but the other therapist did not produce good results. I tried again and found Ben Parker at Balance Wellness. After my first visit with Ben, I felt really hopeful. He didn't promise to resolve my frozen shoulder, but he said he felt he could really help me. He explained that I would have to be patient, but we would get there. He was extremely knowledgeable and even gave me exercises to help keep my shoulder loose between visits. After only 4 months of seeing Ben once a week, the scar tissue in my left shoulder is almost completely gone, and I can move my arm again. For the first time since my accident 11 months ago, I can raise my left arm over my head! Ben's services proved to be invaluable. He literally gave me back the movement in my shoulder that I had lost. He is an amazing massage therapist who really wants to help people. In addition, he is friendly and kind, and his fees are very reasonable. I feel extremely lucky that I found Ben. He has given me back the use of my left arm, something an orthopedist and a physical therapist failed to do. In fact, the doctor said I would need to undergo anesthesia and have a procedure to break up my scar tissue. Ben was able to resolve my injury and subsequent scar tissue with his amazing massage skills. I cannot really express how grateful I am that I found Ben. read more
