While the others seemed like salesmen, Chris was straightforward, but his expertise shined through! He wasn't the cheapest nor the most expensive...just right - like Goldilocks. The painters are all long term employees curated over 30 years and it shows! The crew was 3-5 people and they were very well organized, friendly, and most of all, hard working! The crew lead, Javier, was like a master overseeing his apprentices while working harder than everyone. Chris came on site several times over the week to check on things as well. I was amazed by all the prep work the crew did and well they cleaned up at the end of each day! Chris says the prep work is the most important part painting and it pays to do it right. His experience is vast and helped us select our colors from our finalists along with advising on some other non-painting related work we needed done such as sandblasting, roofing, and gutters. We really felt like we were is good, capable and honest hands! I write very few online reviews...only for truly exceptional service which certainly applies to Exterior Specialists! TL;DR: - Chris and his team are both efficient/ultra fast and skilled at their jobs (finished in a week, half the estimated time, and produced very high quality work) - Great work ethic from his team: on time, flexible, and clean (everything was organized and put away at the end of each day), despite scorching hot weather - Able to repair eaves (whether it be refurbishing or replacing) to be brand new - Chooses highest quality paint and won't get any paint on surfaces you don't want it on (the ground, lights, other decor) - Chris has great taste when it comes to choosing a color scheme for your home More Details: Firstly, Chris has great artistic taste in terms of what colors to choose to best fit your home. Our vision for the project was to refurbish our home to become more modern, which meant choosing a different exterior paint color. Unable to decide which colors to choose, we asked Chris what colors he would recommend. Not only was he able to immediately recommend different colors, but the color scheme he chose for us fitted our home perfectly and was exactly what we had in mind. Chris and his team's work is of the highest quality. Many of our home's eaves had been damaged by termites and needed replacing; many of the wooden boards were not only very high up and hard to reach, but also very large. Yet, he said it was no problems and his carpenters were able to make our eaves look brand new. They even went beyond replacing the badly damaged boards and helped sand and fill in the rest of our eaves! The paint was also of the same level of quality. Chris will help you choose the most premium paint that both looks nice and is more grime resistant than other paints. His painting team is highly skilled: there are no paint bubbles or flakes, no messy streaks or flecks to be seen, and they'll make sure any lights or decorations on the exterior walls are removed or completely covered. The greatest merit of Chris and his team, however, is their work ethic. We were in the middle of a heat dome when they started work, meaning temperatures were in the high 90s to 100s all day. Despite the unpleasant weather, Chris's team would arrive on time every day and work with no complaints. The workspace was always kept clean and organized at the end of each day; upon finishing, they made sure the surrounding area was extra clean. The most surprising thing is, the team was able to finish the project in a week, a whole week faster than the original 2 week estimate! It is amazing how quickly yet masterfully they were able to complete the work in these summer conditions, and we thank them for all their hard work (not to mention that they were able to start work a day or two after Chris's appraisal). His team is also very flexible. We initially weren't planning on repainting our garage since it was newer, but after seeing how it looked with the new colors, we decided we wanted to repaint it as well. Even though they were wrapping up when we asked them, they were able to immediately purchase the needed paint and still finish on the same day! We cannot more highly recommend Exterior Specialists to work on your house: you won't be disappointed!

Very pleased with work done by Robert Clark & painting crew! I hired them to repair and paint interior and exterior of older, neglected duplex. It was a difficult job. They were confident about what work was needed and the results were better than what I had hoped for. They finished the jobs ahead of schedule. I found them to be friendly, polite, trustworthy & very professional! They were always reachable and welcomed questions. They quickly addressed any concerns about the project. We were originally…read morelooking for someone to repair and resurface our aging (read: 1970s), cracked stucco so it would have a smoother texture. We also needed someone to paint the entire house, including the eaves, wood windows, trim, and exterior doors. As the project progressed, we also added on removing a window, re-siding the back of our house (a long wall without stucco), installing a new back door, and replacing our old garage door with a brand new one. Through all these changes, Daniel and sons rolled with the punches and delivered an absolutely gorgeous end product. They even consulted on paint colors, and I could not be more satisfied with the results. As a bonus, Daniel and his sons are just the nicest people you'll meet (and you will meet ALL four sons). I'm originally from the Midwest, and they reminded me of everyone I know from back home - friendly, honest, and always up for a chat. They stopped by the house every day to check on progress, and I feel like I really got to know them. A++ communication. Don't hesitate to call these guys! I know they sound too good to be true, but I promise, I'm a paying customer. They were just great to work with.

Painted over hinges and wood french doors while painting body/stucco house. Didn't use scaffolding as discussed during estimate process. Used ladders balanced on stairs w/ paint buckets. Huge safety risk to Jose/Brian (his only crew at time of job) + owner liability risk. Sprayed over everything w/out cleaning/prep (look at window shim). Splattered paint on terra cotta tile walkways + clay roof tile. Painted dirt/sand into railing, sprayed paint on fence (this part of fence not in contract). Trampled on landscaping. Communicated these concerns to Paul constantly from the beginning. Had to stop them mid-job to prevent more damage. Huge cost to undo work already done. We reluctantly agreed to let him come back and fix after realizing he only has 2 workers. On 9/7, after waiting 6 weeks+, with no estimated return date and house in shambles, we had to move on and file a complaint (started 7/9, worked 9 days, made them stop 7/20, agreed to let them fix on 7/29, never returned). Said they had started apartment project but promised to fix as soon done and they had no other jobs and wouldn't book any more until ours is fixed. Complaint is now in the hands of contractor's board. I will say, Paul was nice and respectful throughout this process, guaranteed we'd be happy with results. But the work resulted in so many more problems that now need to be fixed and we were in limbo waiting for them to come back with no action. Now we have to pay someone $$$$ to fix their mistakes. Absolutely cannot recommend this business. So disappointing and don't know how to get this worked corrected. So much worse than when we started. Just look at the photos.

I was in an emergency…read moresituation after my original painter canceled last minute, and James stepped in immediately to save the day. Within an hour of contacting him, he visited the location and gave me a very reasonable quote on such short notice. Shortly after, Rock arrived to inspect the space and got to work right away. He was incredibly professional, kind, and meticulous. He laid down tarps throughout the area to prevent any mess and made sure everything was set up perfectly before painting even began. I have high ceilings and wanted an accent wall in one of the rooms, which can be a challenge--but Rock handled it flawlessly. The entire process took two days. They started early and worked efficiently, wrapping up around 5-6 PM each day. Throughout the process, Rock sent me progress photos, and the lines were absolutely perfect--especially around outlets and light switches, which really shows the level of detail and care he puts into his work. He was also incredibly respectful of my apartment building, keeping noise to a minimum and making sure the space was well-ventilated so there was no overwhelming paint smell. Two full coats were applied, and the end result was beautiful. The space looked elevated, clean, and polished. James was also so sweet and easy to work with--just an absolute gem from start to finish. I'm beyond grateful for their help and will absolutely hire them again. Thank you so much, Rock and James, for going above and beyond. You blew me away!
