I recently took our Honda to the Wagners after I got smashed by an 18 wheeler on the Fort Duquesne Bridge. This is a very honest, scrupulous business. The Wagners are very honest about timetables and costs. They are good about telling you what various options you have for parts, types of repairs, etc so you understand what the opportunity costs are with respect to time, money, convenience, and quality. They are also very responsive about looping customers in on communication with the insurance companies. I appreciated that the Wagners were willing to explain auto body 101 concepts to me -- they are humble and there is no talking down or condescension when repairs/car issues are being explained. On sort of a side note, by talking to Rob I learned a lot about car bodies and just generally got some bigger picture insight into car repairs, the insurance industry, and supply chain issues. The Wagners just come across as being very decent and thoughtful guys. And not least of all, the quality of the repair is fantastic. The car looks like new and feels new. Even though I live in the eastern part of the city of Pittsburgh and the Wagners are out in a northern suburb, I would make them my first choice for future big repairs. To tell you how amazing this place is - I hate leaving reviews. I have actually never left a review in my entire life because I have never had such amazing service. Rob Wagner Auto Body is truly amazing. I had to have a smart windshield replaced in my Subaru Crosstrek and not only did they work around my ridiculous schedule multiple times, but gave me several repair options and explained everything they were doing. They had my windshield replaced sooner than they had promised, and even completely cleaned my horribly dirty car from top to bottom, inside and out, at no additional cost. Also, I had to have a rental car for 2 days during the process, and they drove me to Enterprise and also allowed me to leave my rental car at their shop when I came to pick up my Subaru, and they returned the car to enterprise. I cannot say enough about how amazing this place is. I have had Yelp since 2016 and had never taken the time to leave a review until I had this experience at Rob Wagner Auto body. Had an accident and, on the recommendation of a friend, took our car to Wagner. Before heading over there for the initial estimate, I called ahead and explained that I am currently immune compromised due to cancer treatment (chemotherapy) and just wanted to make sure that they were following appropriate precautions (life in the time of COVID, am I right?). Well, let me tell you what, Rob Sr and his guys not only went above and beyond to help keep me safe, but they did a fantastic job on the car. For the estimate, he met me outside, wore a mask, maintained distance, went over how they would clean the car after finishing repairs, etc. He even had me open doors and refrained from touching anything while taking assessment pictures. When it came time to drop it off, he had paperwork ready and met me outside with it and a sanitized pen. When I went to pick up the vehicle, not only had they cleaned in there (I assumed he would just wipe down surfaces they touched and use the ionizer we'd discussed) but they had essentially detailed the car! He even wiped my keys down with Lysol wipes one last time right before handing them to me. Not only did the car come back looking fantastic inside and out but I have literally never in my life dealt with a body shop that was as wonderfully respectful of my situation, communicative throughout the process, and did such a great job. If it were possible to give these guys more than 5 stars, I would. Stellar service all around. read more

Rob Wagner is unlike any automotive service shop I've dealt with in 50 years. The owners of this family business truly care about the customer and their reputation. From a body repair standpoint, I've never seen such anal perfectionists, and their whole team seems to have the same mentality. I'm a picky, hard to please person and I was more than delighted with the results. The quality of work and attention to detail is amazing, they don't cut corners. Anyone who wants their vehicle restored to 100% original condition after a serious accident needs to choose these guys. If I lived 3 hours away, I'd drive there without regrets, it's worth it. The only thing I can think of that was not ideal was the fact that you may experience a bit of delay due to all the happy, repeat customers at their door. For me, it's a good sign and well worth waiting an extra few days. The last thing I want is a shoddy rush job, and that's not what you get at this shop.. read more

Isn't it everyone's dream to find an honest and thorough body shop? Most people who don't already have an inside connection just pick someone and cross their fingers then hope for the best. A review for a body shop isn't like one for a restaurant. No one is going to say "I can't wait to go back!" But a quality place deserves a review so others will see it. We have had work done on two cars at Rob Wagner Auto Body. The first was a 7-year-old Jeep that was developing rust issues. But it has low miles and a rock solid drivetrain so we decided to get the body work fixed. When we went for an estimate, Rob thoroughly explained what was needed, gave us some options if we wanted to keep the cost down, and quoted a price. It needed some metal replaced, painted, and we opted for rustproofing to be applied inside the doors and fenders. And the price was very fair. When we picked it up I was amazed at how well he had matched the paint. It's tough to do on a car that old. We could not tell where he started/stopped the painting and the metalwork was perfectly matched. Price was exactly as quoted, done exactly when promised. This Jeep is used like a work truck and he even cleaned the interior which was really filthy. A couple months later I hit a deer with a practically new car. He went over everything with me, lobbied with the insurance company to get approval for everything that should be done, again had to paint extensively. Again, high quality work, done on time. Looks like new. On top of the quality work, Rob is a very pleasant person to deal with and has a good sense of humor. I'm not hoping to need his services any time soon, but if I do need something done, that's where I'm going. read more

I GUARANTEE you have never in your life and will never in your life meet car guys as nice, down to earth and helpful as these guys. I got a new MINI Cooper about a month ago and about a week or 2 after I bought the car, I came outside and someone had hit the rear passenger corner of my car. It made me sick to send in my first car payment for a car that was dented and banged up so I had to get it fixed. The area that was damaged was minor and had it been a few years into the future I might have let it go but I just bought this car and the repair was more about my mental health than anything. I actually found this place on this website and it had great reviews so I booked an appointment for an estimate. I had to cancel my first appointment because of getting sick, then went on a vacation and 2 weeks later when my fiancé called back (he had called for me the first time)to make another appointment for me, Rob remembered his name. That in itself is impressive. It was my 2nd estimate and even though it was higher, I chose to go with Rob Wagner because of how extremely nice, thorough, helpful, and kind he was. He explained everything to me. And he explained WHY it was higher than the other estimate, point by point. I picked up my car yesterday and the work they did is PHENOMENAL. And when I went to pick up my car, they treated me like an old friend, offered me and my fiancé a candy bar, and told us a few funny stories. It was such a wonderful experience. I really cannot praise this business enough. They are friendly, professional and super helpful. They truly go above and beyond for the customer. I was in a small accident a few months back in my new car and was pretty devastated. Once I reached out to Rob, he took care of everything from there. He dealt with the insurance company of the person at fault, worked out a rental car for me that was right down the street from his shop, even had his son/business associate drive me there! . I called 2 or 3 other shops before finding them on my Yelp app. The other shops left me confused and worried about what to do next. My car had been in a nasty accident. It looked bad and I was really worried about driving it. Once I talked with Rob Jr. I felt 100x better. Rob and Rob Jr. went the extra mile to make sure I understood the process of getting my car repaired and they helped to cut through the double-talk that my insurance company was giving me about coverage. They even helped me find a rental car while my car was being worked on. When my car was deemed a total loss by my insurance company, they still kept in contact to make sure I understood what was going to happen next. They explained the paperwork my insurance company sent to me and walked me through the next steps. I had never been in an accident that bad before and this one happened just before Christmas so I couldn't have been more stressed out. They made things so much easier. I almost never write reviews on here, but I can't say enough good about this place. They are absolutely awesome! I was passing through Pittsburgh on a cross country trip and unfortunately hit a deer. I stopped in to this shop to see if they could help me get back on the road. I primarily dealt with the owner. He went above and beyond. He took care of me and got my car safe enough to continue on with my trip. He test drove it with me to make sure I'd be ok for the drive. All of this was done knowing that I wasn't able to have the full repair done at their shop. He got me up and running extremely fast. I needed a place for some body work on my car after colliding with a deer, and I was drawn to Rob Wagner Auto Body both by the volume of positive reviews and the descriptions of the company as a family operation. I could not be happier with my decision. Rob Jr. and Sr. are both great men, and right when you walk in the door, they make you feel like old friends stopping by for a visit. Although I spoke to both at length and have a very high opinion of both, I dealt primarily with Rob Jr. for my car, so I'll focus on him. Rob Jr. looked over the insurance estimate for me line-by-line, explaining in detail why they had priced certain things, and what changes I could expect as they got into the repairs. He also went into detail on the repairs themselves, how long each portion would take, parts that would be needed, etc., as well as the rental car process (which they have made as convenient as humanly possible with a local Enterprise). He comes across as a very intelligent guy who really knows his stuff regarding the repair process and cares about his work. I left my consultation with them feeling supremely confident in their ability to do the job and the quality of people there to carry it through. We arranged a mutually convenient time for the repairs, and throughout the repair process, Rob Jr. immediately kept me abreast of any changes that they were making, the status of anything that needed to be approved by the insurance company, and my options for what they could do with the car to make it as perfect as possible. As for the final product, I think the best thing I can say is that my car looks better now than it did before the deer hit it. I'll never seek out a different auto body shop as long as I live in the Pittsburgh area. read more

I highly recommend this body shop. Rob Sr. and Rob Jr. were both very accommodating and helpful. I had some cosmetic damage to the front bumper of my car, and all the options to fix it were explained thoroughly. I ended up having to wait a few months from the time of the estimate for the fix, but upon calling to get the car in, they remembered who I was and what the issue was with my car. They were even able to accommodate my request to refinish the headlight covers at the last minute. The car was finished a day earlier than expected and the cost came in under estimate. The car looks great now, and if I ever need body work done in the future, I'll be going to Wagner's. read more

These guys are the best!! I cannot give enough praise for Rob Wagner Auto Body! I do not typically take time to write reviews but with the service I received here I felt compelled to share my experience. The rear bumper of my Pearl White Lexus SUV had to be repaired after it had a slight run in with a post in a parking garage. Based on a previous experience with Rob Jr., I knew I wanted the work done here. My insurance company encouraged me to submit a claim using their app and uploading photos of the damage. I spoke with Rob Jr. about this and he explained the process to me very thoroughly and told me that it was very likely that the initial estimate I got back from the insurance company would be low. He told me not to worry and assured me that he would work with them to provide the necessary documentation to get the job done the way it should be done and to my satisfaction. I was glad I had this conversation when the insurance claim was updated to show that they were going to send me a check for a very, very small amount of money. Because my car was safe to drive, I told Rob Jr. that I was not in a hurry for the repair and that he could fit me in at his convenience. Despite that, he got me scheduled quickly and was very accommodating when I had to change the first scheduled date. Once I did drop the car off, Rob Jr. maintained contact with me and kept me informed about each step that was being taken - with the repair process as well as the insurance process. And as promised, he worked with the insurance company to get a new bumper cover paid for rather than try to repair the damage as they had initially allowed for in their estimate. The work was completed in a very timely fashion and when I went to pick the vehicle up I was greeted by Rob Sr. and Rob Jr. who both made sure that I was completely satisfied with the outcome. I was amazed that the paint matched exactly - it looked like it had just rolled off the showroom floor. There was no sign of any kind of work - no drips, rough patches, over spray - just absolute perfection. After looking it over, I went into the office where Rob explained every page of the paperwork to me and explained a few things that the insurance would just not cover (Rob Jr. had called and discussed this with me during the repair process as well and had my permission to proceed with doing things the right way to avoid problems in the future). Both Rob Jr. and Rob Sr. share a passion for doing things the right way and providing the absolute best customer service I have seen in any business; any industry. My car was cleaner than I have seen it in a long time when I picked it up - INSIDE and out. I was not expecting that at all - they definitely went above and beyond! They made and kept appointments, were patient and friendly, explained options and details, and did excellent work on our Honda Civic after a fender bender. After a recommendation from a car enthusiast friend that said they did high quality work, I took my brand new and very expensive car (a 2012 Tesla Model S) to Rob Wagner Auto Body to have some paint corrections and detailing done. This was needed since sadly the vehicle had been improperly and hastily washed before delivery, resulting in many scratches in the dark paint, some more significant than others. Rob thoroughly reviewed the car, documenting each issue for a quote to back to the car manufacturer, and patiently explained to me exactly how he could repair each of the scratches and buff out any other imperfections, without requiring any repainting. I also wanted to apply a paint protection product (OptiGuard) and (re)apply a paint armor film that had been installed by the factory, which was also not perfect. Rob proposed to remove my existing film, correct the paint, detail the car and apply the OptiGuard product, a process that would take several days. I was immediately impressed to see Rob Jr. that same day in several online forums, actively investigating the particular paint armor film and its interactions with the Optiguard product, and also documenting for me other detailers that had restored similar issues for other Tesla owners. He also proactively contacted the maker of my film for a local contact, in case there were any issues or concerns. Seeing this gave me the confidence to move forward with the project, and I am so happy that I did. The original description of their work as being "high-quality" barely scratches the surface. These guys are not only consummate professionals, they are utter perfectionists. Don't let the modest appearance of their bustling shop fool you into thinking otherwise. The attention to detail throughout this process has been nothing short of astounding. Rob would give me at least one phone call or email each day, providing a detailed update on progress. Every step of their work was meticulously performed and thoroughly documented, as evidenced by a Dropbox folder he sent of nearly 300 digital pictures showing the before and after shots of each issue on every panel. And the results are amazing. Every single scratch and imperfection in the car is completely eliminated, and the car looks literally better than brand new. The depth of the paint and the level of gloss are dramatically higher than the first day I received the vehicle off the truck. Rob even indicated that they were able to achieve better results than originally anticipated due to the soft properties of the clearcoat, and also that they had corrected quite a few items they encountered, that I had never seen originally. I could not be happier with the outcome...the car is simply flawless, from every angle. But it doesn't stop there. I had to wait several day before the new protective film could be applied, during which time the car collected dust in my garage. Rob Jr. went out of his way to *come to my house* to re-inspect the OptiGuard application in direct sunlight, and manually polish out any spots he deemed imperfect prior to the application of the protective film. This was after the job was finished and paid for. On top of this, he will be doing some final application of product to gaskets on the doors after the film is applied. This kind of follow-up perfectly demonstrates the level of pride they take in their work at Rob Wagner Auto Body. With impeccable workmanship and customer care beyond anyone's expectation, these guys have easily made me a satisfied customer for life. They have already detailed my wife's car (another spectacular job), and will be getting all my future body work and paint correction/detail work on my cars.
