    Roast hog with crackling
    Michelle L.

AMAZING!! I shared with my boyfriend but I could have easily eaten one whole gigantic sandwich by myself. We got one pork sandwich at borough market and ate it hungrily in less than 5 minutes. The bread was amazing and held all the pork and juices so well. The pork itself was super flavorful and juicy, a great hit of salt, enhanced by a large crispy piece of crackling, countered by the fresh arugula. So simple, so good!!

Was walking down the street to get some Mediterranean food, when I saw a sign for roast hog. Who doesn't like roast hog on a roll?! The pork roll sandwich was amazing! Generous portions of roast hog (tender and flavorful) on a ciabatta roll topped with applesauce (adds sweetness), rocket greens (peppery taste, makes you feel good you're eating your veggies) and... the crackling (crunchy, salty, flavorful goodness)! When the man asks if you want the crackling, you say Yes! Find this place and eat a pork sandwich. Your mouth will thank you.

Oh My God! I don't even know if I'll find the words to describe the beauty that was this roast hog sandwich (but let me try anyway!). It all started for me with the smell of roast pork, so irresistible it guided me through the market and into the queue of Roast Hog. Yes, it is a long one most offen than not. But do queue up, it is worth it (also, the pork roasting on its stake is weirdly hypnotic, you won't even realise how long you'll queue up for!)! Pillowy soft ciabatta bun and peppery rocket make for the basis of this delicious roll, which is then filled with perfectly balanced apple sauce (I was afraid it might be too sweet but it's not!), and then slices of melty pork and crispy bits of crackling. Perfection.

Yesss I'll take the whole thing

This was probably my favorite meal in London. No surprise it involves pork and pork skin. This sandwich is definitely the antithesis of diet food. The roast pork is rotating on a spit in front of you. The roast pork is moist and has a slight curry flavor and sandwiched in a crusty ciabatta roll and rocket. Ahh perfection.

Victus & Bibo - Best lunch near Chancery lane.

The friendly bloke who runs this stand apparently operates a few other ones around London including the halloumi and mezze stand on the end of Leather Lane Market. Whilst chatting with him as my wrap was being prepared, I discovered that Victus & Bibo used to be a juice and coffee stand in the mornings and a food prep area for other stands. Currently, they're sorting the inside of this stand to eventually be a breakfast stop for coffees, juices, and porridge, as well as continuing to serve lunch. In fact, rumour has it they've netted a World Barista Champion to serve up the java! As far as the actual grub goes, I was merrily satisfied with my 'lamb bread': ground meat, veg, sauces, with grilled halloumi for one quid extra. It's quite the affordably filling lunch at £4.50 that won't leave you feeling like you just consumed a gut bomb (I'm looking at you, Chilango).

When we visited they only had one option, the amazing halloumi salad (you could choose salad with spicy chicken+ halloumi...or just with halloumi.) As there was only one option, the line moved forward pretty quickly as the two ladies behind the counter quickly threw together amazing salads for all the hungry folks in the queue. I loved it. The salad itself is tasty, the humus is gorgeous, they give you a good splash of yogurt, and both the halloumi and the chicken were perfect.

It's about all they're serving, but trust me, it's enough. The duck confit burgers come with your choice of 3 different cheeses, bleu cheese, raclette, or goat's cheese. Personally, I'm not the biggest cheese fan, and always go for the raclette, as it's milder. What makes the burgers even better is the truffle mayo- and if you're lucky, truffle honey- that they're putting on them, which makes the flavors pop all the more. The chips also come with a huge dollop of truffle mayo on top. One setback I would say to the whole operation is the usual lack of seating wherever these guys are to be found. If you don't have friends with you, that means you need to either only order one thing to hold it with one hand and eat with the other, or make a friend fast, to help share the load. Still, it is one of THE best burgers- duck, or otherwise- I've ever had, so I'm not complaining... too much. At £8 a pop- or £10 including the chips- it may not be the cheapest- nor the healthiest- thing you can find on the streets, but it's definitely worth every pence.

I…read morewas excited to visit the Real Food Market, as I had lived in Waterloo in the fall of 2012 and had eaten at least 2 meals there every weekend. The Frenchie was a new addition to the Real Food lineup and upon reading "Duck Confit Brioche Bun" I knew that my old favorites didn't stand a chance. Since then, I have bumped into The Frenchie stands in several markets across London. I've tried everything they have to offer (they're all so amazing). Here's my quick rundown. Duck fat fries with truffle mayo £4 (i think?) omgsogood. like too good. I get these as a walking around snack almost every time I see this stand. Perfect to munch on while you're making the difficult decision of what to eat. Duck confit brioche bun £6 duck confit cooked on a flat top with duck cracklin (omg) and your choice of cheese. In order of my preference: goat cheese with honey, blue cheese with honey, cheddar. The bun is griddled with duck fat and the sandwich is built with mustard, onion jam and rocket. It's divine. Also, if you have your phone out and show them you liking/following The Frenchie on social media they'll give you £1 off. Jussayin. Go here.
