This was our second time here - the first time in the actual Speakeasy. Our first visit we sat in the street seating which was nice. At that time we had the breakfast wraps and they were really good. We really enjoyed the Speakeasy in back tonight. You have to know the secret password or scenario to get in which we bumbled a bit and it was funny but we finally made it in. Their drink menu is full of delicious, creative cocktails. I had the Verde Bloody Mary - a green twist on a tradition bloody Mary which was delicious. The food menu is simple but delicious. They have a range of appetizers - charcuterie board etc, and then if you feel you want more they have sandwiches, salads and burgers. We enjoyed a couple burgers and salad which were very good. The best part of this place is the theme and atmosphere. It feels cozy and private with the perfect decor to fit the theme. We really enjoyed it and will be back.

I wanted to love this place. We went for brunch. It was completely empty. The bartender/server was nice and answered any questions. The breakfast enchilada was very bland. No seasoning used at all it seemed. The potatoes in it seemed like microwaved frozen diced potatoes maybe? The sausage was not flavorful. It looked much better than it tasted. The drinks were fine but definitely on the pricey side. The concept is cute. If you've ever been to a speakeasy you'll likely find this one cheesy. But it's something different in the area.

    The drinks for fabulous!

I had no idea we were going into a bar behind the scenes of a storefront. Walked in said we were here for three dress fitting's and before you know it, we are going through a secret door back to this wonderful roaring 20s speakeasy. The ambience was amazing.

Great selection of signature drinks. They even serve eats. I look forward to going back and experiencing it again soon.

A store in the front and when you give them a password, they push a mirror and allow entrance into a speakeasy in the back, it's cutely decorated.

This place is bookstore/coffeehouse/restaurant/bar in the cute little town of Roslyn…read more I wandered in around 4:30pm. I checked out the bookstore part first. They have a cool selection of books, and a lot of gift type things like tea, stuffed animals, bookmarks, art supplies, etc. I noticed the dinner menu and decided a cheeseburger sounded good. I ordered the Basecamp cheeseburger with bacon and a side salad. You can apparently order food upstairs and then sit upstairs or downstairs (or outside, I think). They have table service as well, after 4pm. Service was very friendly and patient. I decided to eat downstairs, and there was a cozy bar and large seating area. My burger soon arrived and it was delicious! A great toasted bun and a wonderfully substantial and beefy patty. The cheese was rich and gooey. Great, yummy combination of flavors. The salad was good too, with a nice ranch dressing on the side. A cool place that made me feel welcome and served up a great burger.

I got a book from them and the whole place just smells like book store and coffee shop. Literally perfect!!! I am so grateful that one of the staff recommended me some places for photos!! She mentioned some of the art wall and cute spot behind the shop. I would definitely go back if I am in the area again.

We dialed in so that the hidden door could be opened and let us pass. This a great looking place hidden away in Stadium. The drinks menu is extensive and the galley menu looks great. Our party of three was seated at a two-top but that may have been because we accidentally made reservations for two and then emailed about a change. We ordered two Viking Fogcutters and a Miskatonic Mistake for drinking along with some focaccia and deviled eggs for munching. That pretty much fills the entire table. The drinks were great! The bread and eggs were very tasty. The focaccia was super fluffy and warm. We added three salmon chowders to eat after devouring the eggs and focaccia. The three large bowls barely fit on the table but we made it work. The chowder and biscuits were awesome. The staff was very friendly and helpful (certainly not part of the Esoteric Order of Dagon).

Instagram : @yeapeats…read more I was excited to try Needle & Thread since it's often described as a speakeasy, but the "hidden" aspect didn't quite live up to expectations. Unlike other speakeasies that feel truly hidden, you actually just walk into Tavern Law, check in with the hostess, and let them know you have a reservation. They then guide you to a telephone where you repeat your reservation name before being let upstairs. It's a fun concept, but not especially secretive, and they're pretty strict about not letting you up early unless it's very empty. Once seated, we actually waited almost 20 minutes before being served with no acknowledgement. We ended up having to flag down the manager just to bring attention to our table, which was disappointing given the experience they're aiming for. The waitress asks a series of questions about your preferences--likes, dislikes, and flavor inspirations--so the bartenders can create custom cocktails for you. If you're knowledgeable about alcohol, this is probably a dream. If you're not (like me), it can feel a little intimidating, but our waitress was patient and did her best to guide us through it. The drinks themselves were excellent. Even the shots were customized, which was a nice touch. The vibe upstairs is chill and relatively quiet, making it a great place to relax and talk. Food is the same menu as downstairs at Tavern Law, so nothing new there. The only downside--and unfortunately a noticeable one--was an interaction with the female bartender (not our waitress). Based on the questions we were asked, my friend gave a mix of savory and sweet preferences, since we were told these were just inspirations. However, the female bartender came over sounding visibly annoyed and said, "So do you want savory or sweet? You're giving contradicting answers." The tone felt unnecessarily rude, especially since we were just following the process as it was explained to us. Overall, the drinks were great and the concept is unique, but between the delayed service and that negative interaction, it definitely put a damper on the experience.

The whole space has this intimate, luxurious atmosphere that makes the experience feel special the moment you walk in. We tried the Japanese Breakfast, which is a savory cocktail and such a pleasant surprise. It genuinely has miso soup notes. It's very unique and creative. The prices are on the higher end, but personally I think they're totally worth it for the creativity and overall experience. For one, the bar service was mediocre for my $26 cocktail. I get more conversation from the bartenders at the Red Onion.... And because they bartender wasn't paying attention, he forgot to put our food order in....probably didn't need it anyway, I need to diet. And then we get the check and they automatically add 22%...if you are a quality establishment offering exceptional customer service, you don't need to tell me what to tip...guess you are not. And they they have the nerve to ask me if I want to tip another 18%, 20%, or 25% when I sign the check on their Toast device... I'll go out for a quality cocktail experience at Needle & Thread, The Doctor's Office, or maybe the Red Onion, lol. But I won't be coming back here ever again.
