New bike and my new roaring mouse water bottle

I am out of San Jose and my bike was delivered here. And I have to say the crew here and Jacob were very helpful and hospitable!!! Jacob gave me a few pointers since this was my first mountain bike purchase they made this purchase very easy a quick .Thanks again for the help!!!

My son picked up his new bike today!

Great customer service. The person who helped us was Day and he was great. We came in to pick up the new bike we had bought our son and throughout the process Day was teaching my son how to add air in his new tires, installing his new water bottle cage and his head and rear lights. It was nice to also by coincidence meet the person who had built my son's bike, Annie was also there. Our son left the store with a huge smile! Thanks for an awesome bike purchasing experience.

This may be one of the most spectacularly located bike shops in the world. They are easily approachable, straightforward, and very helpful. I always leave feeling good about the interaction, their advice, and the transaction. Highly recommend.

Roaring mouse is my favorite shop. The only issue I have is that it isn't closer to where I live. I've bought 2 bikes and a boat load of components through the shop. Both bikes were assembled well with absolutely zero issues. 1. Pivot Mach 4 SL - Bought this bike right when it came out. Demoed the bike through the shop then ordered it via Pivot's wait list. The bike came in earlier than expected. Roaring Mouse was quick to get the bike beautifully assembled and got me on the trail with haste. 2. Pivot Mach 5.5 - bought this bike for my wife off the floor after she demoed a Pivot Switchblade that same day. I also buy a LOT of parts because we ride tandem mountain bike which has a tendency to break something (on a weekly basis). Everyone at the shop has been super helpful when identifying parts and getting them ordered. There have been a few occasions where we had issues (manufacture issue, not the shop) and Chris has taken care of us to make sure we're satisfied with the outcome. Another thought about Pivot - if you're a rider with a low standover height, you should definitely look at Pivot. My wife needed an abnormally low standover height and we found the options very limited. Pivot has multiple options for people who usually can't ride brands like Specialized and Santa Cruz/Julian due to higher standover heights.

They sell a kinda of curated goods from a small selection of tools, lubricants, snacks, and gear. I bought some very well fitted gloves there. What really impressed me was the way they operated the store. It got busy at one point and chilled out... then it got busy again, and they did not miss a beat! But on top of all of that, they were servicing bikes that had appointments or walked in, all at the same time! I was able to bring my bike in, but I also saw they had those bike repair racks in the front and back of the store - they're not playing around. I saw someone walk in with their bike listing off a bunch of stuff he wanted to look into fixing, and the staff person in the front immediately threw it on the repair rack and said 'let's take a look'. They also have this roller situation setup in the front where they can take your bike and run it in place to show what it does while in motion. This place means business and they are super friendly! I wish I had something like this closer to home, this store is doing a service to their local community.

Everything went smooth and as expected as far as sales expectations and experience. Where they absolutely exceeded expectations was in the service department. I've been treated like family here in the way they receive me and take care of my bikes. Not just regular service either. Sometimes I work on my bikes and screw things up. I've been dissed by snooty shops in the past (American Cyclery, if they got payed for attitude they'd be rich). But not here, nothing but love. Additionaly I recently crashed my beloved new SC Stigmata at high speed causing all kinds of mechanical havoc. Not only were the service staff kind but extremely proficient in mechanicals to reset everything nicely and get me riding again. Shout out to Devynn and Rene (and other staff for sure) for setting the gold standard in professionalism. It is very difficult to write good reviews for bike shops, but not this one is easy. 6 stars ****** Maximum appreciation for this business

My dog was still in the stroller, and I asked multiple times whether I should remove her. I was concerned about the weight on the tires and bearings while he was servicing it, and my dog was visibly uncomfortable with him lifting the stroller while she was inside. He picked up the stroller several times by the front wheel, which seemed awkward at the time. As soon as I left, I realized the front swivel wheel was no longer functioning properly. It now defaults to facing backwards (180°), and the tire rubs against the swivel with every turn. This made it extremely difficult to get my dog home, especially because she has mobility issues. The stroller is not a luxury item for us -- it's something I rely on every single day for my dog, groceries, laundry, and basic errands. When I told my son what happened, he mentioned that he had a similar experience at the same shop a couple of weeks ago. He and a friend brought in a bike with a brake issue. The shop offered to help and didn't charge them, but whatever was done made the bike worse. Sending a kid out with a bike in worse condition than it came in is a safety issue, especially since my son recently had a serious fall due to a mechanical problem. I understand that Spokeasy didn't charge us for these services, but free work still needs to be safe and competent. Unfortunately, that wasn't the case here. For these reasons, I can only give Spokeasy one star.
