Unbelievably horrible Pot-Lot. My wife and I have several properties and our goal was to look for a vehicle that we could leave at our cabin to use when we flew in. Upon doing some research on this tiny car lot, it was backed with information (from them) that they are the best from 09 through 2014, my wife and I decided that we were going to buy one of their SUVs that they had advertised as a "one owner Los Gatos vehicle", the Q7 in blue. Over the phone Bernard kept referring to the vehicle as a Los Gatos owned vehicle although when we got there it appeared that it was a city car that had beat up front and rear bumpers and massive hood chips / large dents in the front hood. When we got in the vehicle we noticed that the silver buttons including the start button was chipped and peeling and the trim pieces had dents in them only fixable if the entire panels where to be replaced. On our test drive the vehicle drives in a straight line with the steering wheel completely out of alignment. Bernard kept referring to it as a used car and that somebody must've hit a curb and that it could be easily aligned. My plan after purchasing the vehicle was to drop it off at an authorized Audi dealership and have all the problems fixed at my expense so I would know it was done right. (The condition of this car really made a statement about how they maintain/safety their vehicles that are for sale) A car lot with the reputation that they have and with my short glance of the cars that they have for sale, this vehicle was advertised as prime merchandise when in fact it was in fair value condition. They have been trying to sell it for more than six months. Their price was dictated by KBB in excellent condition. They knowing of all the issues the vehicle had, I offered that I would take it as-is and deal with the fixes myself. I offered them the "Good" market value price according to KBB and they pretty much refused to speak to me anymore. With their reputation I expected it to be a friendly experience, not a typical Small-Car-Lot with one shady salesman (Non-plural) who called himself a manager. When you can tell that they aren't who they are especially Bernard (sales manager of himself) who claims that he sold cars for 30 years that was one of the worst sales experience I ever had in my life. -you shouldn't have to advertise over and over what a wonderful place you are. That commonly known saying "if it smells like .... then it must be ....!" I went a step further and contacted the local DMV Investigations Unit and found they have a known reputation because of selling cars that are not properly inspected (not safe for the road) and for doing multiple illegal sales and advertising. In the end of all this I reached out to the owner, Clint senior. I have yet to receive any return contact from him. From what I learned he is the one who controls the way the business is run. -A typical car salesman that took advantage of enough people to be a dealer. Buyer beware from this Prestigious Pot-Lot!! I bought my BMW from Roadsport about a year ago. At that time, I was very hesitant to write a review without having some time to evaluate the purchase. I am ready now: Their car is as great as they had advertised! I had spent months searching countless dealerships for the perfect E46. None came close. They either had obvious issues (that dealers denied) or were outrageously overpriced (that dealers also denied). When my co-worker showed me an ad for Roadsport, I decided to give it a try because it was close to my house. Showing up, I saw my E46. It was simply immaculate (Roadsport details the car and checks it up before each sale)! I tried to find flaws but they just weren't there. Roadsport did not try to sucker me into the deal, they took their time and helped me acquaint myself to the entire thing. When I was finally ready to make the purchase, they worked with my credit and helped arrange the best financing that they could. Since it was my first car purchase, they walked me through the entire process, gave me tips on maintenance, and even suggested that they can help me out if I ever had trouble with the purchase. Recently I had an unfortunate accident with my older model Mercedes that left it as a total loss. Paired with that unexpected mishap and the recent purchase of an engagement ring, I was on a limited budget looking for a new car. I asked friends if they had any one to recommend to me, and two separate people both told me Clint at Roadsport is the guy to go to. I gave Clint a call, and we played phone tag for a day or two, but when I finally got a chance to talk with him he assured me he could help. In the meantime I had gone to cars.com and contacted about 15 or 16 dealers on cars I had interests in throughout the bay area, just in case. I knew Roadsport as an upscale car lot by driving by, and wanted to make sure to shop around before jumping in. If I can do this as a chef, I can build a relationship with these individuals and have a strong business and a lasting rapport and often friendship with my customers. I felt like Clint embodies that person to the tee, and as it turns out, every one who I met at my trips to Roadsport from Anton, to Bernard and even Clint's wife left me with that same feeling. Meanwhile, I was being repeatedly pestered by other car salesmen from different locations who would call 4-5 times a day and email me constantly even after I had told them I wasnt sure or needed time to think about it. I never felt bugged or pressures by the Roadsport team. Always felt appreciated and a good rapport was being established. Now to the best part, at least for me. Clint spoke to me about many cars that fit in my $$$ range, driving style, and what would fit my 6ft 5 frame comfortably. He explained the pros and cons of individual cars and what I should expect from each of them And then, their she was, a mint condition 2001 BMW 740iL. Mint may be an understatement. In fact all the cars in Roadsport are beautiful. As a chef, I want to start with great ingredients to make a great dish. They have that same philosophy. Only well maintained, great condition cars. Good product, plus good service and a great relationship can be produced. I test drove he car and she is beautiful. At the end of the week when I had my finances in order, Clint happened to be out of town, but we had spoken and he assured me she was ready to go. I me with Anton, we signed a bunch of paperwork, which he carefully explained to me including service warranty and the works. Buying this car was a great experience, and it wont stop there. I will bring that car back for all of its servicing needs and anything because I feel confident that I can trust anyone I speak with there, that they will provide me with the best possible care and assistance. I agree with the statements that most of the 5-star ratings have behind them. But I felt that I should comment on Roadsport to make sure that everyone keeps their wits about them and works in a buyer "beware" mindset when making a purchase. In the 2004 time frame I purchased a 1997 Porsche Carrera 911 from Roadsport. The owner was indeed, "honest", helpful, and very accommodating to the buying process. I put the honest in quotes for a reason. At the start of the test drive he got the car ready and handed me the key. He took me for the test drive and answered all my questions. He took the car from me and put it back in the garage, and later, when I purchased the car, got it out and started it and all for me. I get home and I find that the remote remote doesn't work. It will not lock or unlock the doors. It turned out be a $600+ fix at Stevens Creek Porsche/Audi. Now I know that he sold the car to me on a consignment basis. But he specifically and on at least two occasions, hid the fact that the car had a defective security module - and that the remote didn't work. He could have gone back to the owner to negotiate a price that included the fix (I still paid $52K for the car and it was financed so Roadsport made money on that too). So it was not a steal. I think that it was a 3-Star experience for me since the fact that driving home in your "new/used Porsche" is significantly diminished by finding out something doesn't work on the first ride home. People - enjoy the car buy experience by remember to check the cars out yourself, completely and even for the seemingly simple/stupid things. --- Follow up: No, not confused about the dealership. Sale date: 7/13/02 Roadsport - Sales person: Barry Smith (Title: Owner). From the yellow form (Sales Contract): $55,802 sale price. Financed through Bay View Bank. This was a real transaction. I should mention that I am not looking to be made whole - just a comment to check the cars out well to cover both known and unknown issues. read more

DO NOT put your car for consignment here. Be aware that when you put your car on consignment RoadSport is not on your side. They are trying to make every penny they can, whether it's from someone that buys your car, or through you putting it on consignment, they'll get their money. They had my car for 6 months and couldn't sell it for me. They had it continuously priced far over market value and I had to call them once a month to get them to lower the price, but since I only agree on my "cut of the sale" they try to get every penny they can by listing it 20-25% over my takeaway amount, well over market value. The issue everyone needs to be aware of is their consignment contract. The contract is labeled "consignment agreement" and clearly states in the first paragraph that "this contract is effective and valid for a period of 60 days from this date." I even asked when I signed the contract if after 60 days the car didn't sell what would happen, and Bernard told me that after 60 days I get the car back. However, in the last paragraph of the agreement, it also says that "if customer cancels Consignment Agreement before agreed upon term, or if for any reason RoadSport does not sell the car, or is returned to the customer for any other reason, a one-time fee of $400 will be charged." This seems a little strange since the contract is only valid for 60 days, but after 6 months they want to charge $400 even though according to the first paragraph of their agreement after 60 days it's no longer an effective or valid agreement. So even after 6 months of them not selling my car when I wanted it back, they refused to give it back and demanded their $400. I even told them that I'm active duty military and that I needed to sell the car within 8 months because I was going overseas for 3 years, but instead of pushing to sell the car and pricing it to sell, they dragged their feet and then basically held my car for ransom 6 months later using an invalid contract as leverage when I wanted my car back to trade it in to the dealer. They completely took advantage of my situation. They are really just bullies trying to make a quick buck when you use their consignment services and were grossly unprofessional when I tried to get my car back. read more

Shortly after we purchased a car from RoadSport we noted a couple of repair items that they had missed on their inspection and were not apparent during the test drive. Bernard asked us to bring in the car for inspection and determined that the shop had to special order the part for one of the items, a common problem with the gas gauge. We returned when the part arrived and both items were handled. At no charge. This made everything right with the car. No hassle, no haggle. We're pleased to do business with RoadSport. Hats off to Bernard and the RoadSport crew. We will return to them for our next car. Bonus: The store and shop are located across the street from the Campbell light rail station. I found a car on the internet at Roadsport in Campbell, California and it was priced thousands of dollars above Dealer retail based on Kelly Blue Book. I asked the salesman Bernard about it. he said it was a low millage car and I could throw away the Kelly blue book because it has low miles. I found at least two other similar cars with less miles for less money in the price range that Kelly Blue Book listed for them, the same book Bernard wanted to throw away? I don't mind paying a fair and reasonable profit to do business, I am sure I am like every other customer and would like to get a fair and reasonable price when I purchase anything. I was told maybe it was not the right car for me and I should look for a car in my own State! I have never had such a bad experience or have I been treated so poorly! I understand it is their car and they have the right to ask what ever they want. They must have so much business they can turn customers away? I would never purchase a car from this dealership if that is how they treat their customers! I believe anyone thinking about doing business with this organization should know how they will be treated, if they choose to do business there! My wife and I live near Sacramento - why would we buy a car from a used car dealer in Campbell? I was looking from the SF Bay Area to Sacramento for a used BMW 750 Li for several months. I test drove and inspected more than a dozen when I found one on the internet at Roadsport. I set up a test drive by phone with Bernard and arrived at Roadsport after a 2 hour drive from our home. Bernard was very accommodating and had the car ready. We went on a test drive with Clint (the owner), inspected the car, and found it to be (mechanically and aesthetically) head and shoulders superior to any other used cars we had inspected. Based upon what I saw, all the cars Roadsport chooses to offer are in EXCELLENT condition. After my wife and I left and discussed the car, we decided this was the car we wanted. I worked with Bernard over the phone and was able to negotiate a good deal. Bernard was responsive and fulfilled every request I had (maintenance records, dealer's list of options and accessories on the car at time of original purchase, etc.). A week after our initial visit, we asked Bernard to have the paperwork ready and we would come in the next day. When we arrived, Anton was ready for us and in less time than it took for Bernard to fill the tank with gas, we had signed the paperwork and were ready to leave. We could have paid less to a private party or other used car dealer, but then we would have settled for a car with 25%+ higher mileage and that looked worn out, Simply put, Roadsport chooses only the cream of the crop for their lot. We feel like we ended up with the best end of the bargain and are VERY HAPPY with our purchase and the purchase experience. read more

I had a car that I wanted to trade in, I worked with Clint the owner, he gave me a fair trade in price, and I received the car I was interested in at a fair price. I am deeply dissatisfied with Roadsport, and especially with Clint Sr., the company owner and manager. We (my wife and I) had a double transaction with Roadsport - buying and selling. The main disappointment is related to Clint's way to ignore calls and messages for months. Also, when he realized that we are not buying another car from him, his charm melted away and he just stopped all communication with us. He still owes us a couple of explanations but I don't expect them anymore. Our observation is that buying a car through Roadsport presents no real advantage. On the surface, it seems that you should get a better deal than what a typical dealership offers but really you don't (and that's the best case). So, if you know what car you want and cannot afford the risk of buying from a private seller, go to the dealership. A little negotiating and you get a better value, probably with better repair coverage and better customer service. read more

I love these people! How often do you hear that about a used car salesman? But, seriously this is the polar opposite of the typical car buying experience. Think of it more like a car consultation. Clint must have spent at least an hour asking me about my wants, needs, and limitations about a car before he even showed me one. He even recommended cars that he didn't have in stock for me to go test drive before I decided. Of course, in the end, I bought my dream car from him, and was totally satisfied with the car, the price, and the service. They only service the cars they sell, so they have a vested interest in making sure they don't sell you a lemon. They really go the extra mile to make sure you're happy with your car. They have answered urgent calls from out of town on the weekend, Clint Jr. rescued me at the hardware store when I couldn't open the trunk ski-door, they found bargain tires for me, and replaced countless burned out light-bulbs and a leaking windshield water reservoir. They love and understand cars and share their passion with their clients. They are enthusiastic, polite gentlemen who are true professionals who genuinely want to please their customers. My son, the consummate, savvy internet shopper, went to Clint on my suggestion and Clint found a Mercedes SUV for 15% less than he could buy anywhere online. How about that! He is now a diehard Roadsport client. Roadsport is not your typical used-car dealership. It has a unique style of selling; there are very few cars in their lot. You list your specifications and Clint scours the manufacturers' auctions for you and calls you when he finds what you are looking for. It may take a bit more time but you are not obliged to purchase the car he bring back for you. Thus a car purchase from Roadsport is foolproof and easy. They know their prices and they listen to the client; they negotiate. It is a win-win situation all around. As a result of my initial experience, there is no way I will buy my next car from any other dealer. In the market for a used luxury car, I was excited to go to Roadsport after driving past their great looking cars many times and reading good reviews on Yelp and elsewhere. Unfortunately, I didn't get to see what the big deal was. I went to the lot twice and no one was around to talk to. The second time I wandered into the shop in back and someone gave me a card suggesting I email Clint (not sure which one). It took me two emails to get a response from Clint that said 'call me'. I did but the voice mail was never returned. I have since found another dealer that was much more eager to earn my business and I got a great car elsewhere. read more

After being on the car hunt for months and visiting several dealerships where I was put off by all the sales pressure tactics, I decided to stop by Roadsport since it was down the street from where I live. I am SO glad that I did! Clint junior and senior helped me find the perfect car. They listened to the features I was looking for along with my target price range. Initially, I saw a car on the lot that I liked, but the Clints went to find me a car that I would love. Whenever they explained anything about the car, they talked to me and did not direct the conversation solely to my boyfriend, which I really appreciated since I was the one buying the car. Most other dealerships I visited directed everything to him and left me completely out of the conversation. Once I was ready to buy, Anton explained all documents thoroughly before I signed anything. I never had that "what the heck did I just sign" feeling. Anton manages the financial aspect of the process, but he was the first person I met at the dealership and helped see things through to the very end (including test driving the car with me). I left Roadsport with a 2007 BMW 328i in absolutely immaculate condition. I love my car! I could not have asked for a better car buying experience. Both Clints are extremely professional, honest, and knowledgeable about all the cars on the lot. The entire Roadsport team goes above and beyond to make their customers happy. My boyfriend is now currently looking to buy a car from Roadsport, and my next car will absolutely be purchased from them as well. :) read more

I don't usually do reviews but had such a good experience at Roadsport that I had to. We were looking for a used Yukon and found the exact car advertised online through Roadsport. I was very apprehensive as I have had a bad experience with a small dealership before and felt you could only trust the larger dealerships. We came to Roadsport to see the car and were greeted by Michelle. The customer service was immediately apparent as Michelle took an interest in our needs. The Yukon ended up being exactly what we were looking for and through two minutes of "negotiations" they offered us a price we could not refuse (Thousands less than comparable vehicles we'd shopped for, and I had looked a lot). Bernard was a pleasure to deal with and there was not the usual bs you get with a car salesman. He was straight to the point but friendly and cared about our happiness with the purchase. The finance guy (I'm blanking on his name) was awesome and had the whole transaction done in 2 hours. The Yukon we bought had over 100k miles so we could not get a warranty. The owner, Clint, said if anything went wrong to give him a call and he would take care of it. After driving away in the Yukon the service tire monitor system light came on (Likely because they had replaced the tires prior to sale and the sensors went out). I called Clint and he said no problem, bring it back and we'll take care of it. I brought the Yukon back and while fixing the tire sensors he noticed the driver door handle was loose (I hadn't even noticed it). Clint ordered the door handle and replaced it along with all four tire sensors at no charge. I couldn't be happier with the service provided by Roadsport. Every person that we have dealt with at this dealership has been there for years and treats customers amazing. They really make you feel like you are part of the family when you buy from them. I can't give them zero stars because Bernhard was relatively nice but this was an incredibly disappointing experience. I brought my clean Carfax 2008 Mercedes CLS 550 here to sell on consignment. I agreed to price it where they wanted it and was told they would likely sell my car in 4-5 weeks. Well after 5, yes, five MONTHS of the car not selling I am moving it to sell elsewhere. When I brought the car in I had just had a complete detail done and yet now that I'm taking it they insisted on charging me a $400 fee for cleaning it. Meanwhile the car has depreciated $1.5K and I've had to re-register it while it's been idle on their lot. The whole process has been painful. They did not seem to be very proactive in their efforts either to sell the car or communicate to me updates on where they were with it. I can't recommend doing business with them. read more
