In one sentence: VIP CAR BUYING EXPERIENCE. (Excuse the…read morecaps, I want to emphasize how great it was. ) By now, Jeremy helped us buy two cars! One for ourselves and one for our friends. Both experiences were delightful, stress free (who would associate stress-free when you buy a car?) and quick. No hassle car buying - that should be his business's title. He helped us narrow down the list of cars we were looking at and make a decision that worked for us. He also scheduled all the test drives, negotiated the prices, and pointed us to a specific person at the dealership, a complete VIP experience. He did the same for our friends just this week, they bought a great car in a great condition, he negotiated the price down and steered them away from less desirable options. My friend was nervous (just like I was before ) because the process of buying a car is stressful. But after they got into the dealership and the car was waiting for them, they test drove and bought the car. My friend said: who would have thought that I can enjoy buying a car! And that's all thanks to Jeremy. Believe me I'm not hyping him up, he is professional, kind and customer centric. Thank you Jeremy!

I anticipated this email to come the evening before our morning appointment. I did receive a phone call the evening prior, asking if I needed help with anything, and I asked about this expected paperwork. turns out they dont sent it until about an hour before your appointment. so an hour and 15min prior to our appointment, I received a text from CarMax stating that they needed my husband to upload his DL (they sent an email link), and then they will send the paperwork for signatures. my husband did so, and we left for our appointment about 30min before our scheduled appt time. we arrived at CarMax ~10min early, and still no paperwork. it wasn't until 15min past our scheduled appt time that we received this paperwork, the internet (even on wi-fi) inside the CarMax is absolute trash so it took forever to load, and at this point I'm feeling pressure to run through everything and just sign everything without reading a damn thing. I hope that our express pickup experience is abnormal, and here's to hoping our express drop-off this coming weekend is a smoother process. overall, I would recommend CarMax for purchasing a vehicle. so far, we are very happy with our used car, and we would definitely use CarMax in the future!

In the last six months, I've purchased both a 2026 Tucson Hybrid Limited and a 2026 Ioniq 5 Limited here. Stephen Fitch was an exceptional sales consultant. As a 74-year-old who has purchased over 35 vehicles, I've seen every dealership trick in the book. Stephen was a breath of fresh air--patient, knowledgeable, and zero-pressure. I especially appreciated that there were no 'required' add-ons like paint sealant or fabric protection marked up over the MSRP. I was able to negotiate fairly, utilize dealer incentives, and secure Hyundai rebates that saved me significant money. Danielle Torres made the paperwork a breeze. She presented warranty and service options informatively, but remained professional and pleasant when I declined. A huge plus: she scanned everything and sent it as a PDF rather than handing me a heavy stack of paper--perfect for my electronic filing system. Before I drove off, Stephen took the time to ensure I was comfortable with the high-tech features of my new EVs. The dealership is spotless, well-managed, and the detailing team did a superb job. If you want transparency and a higher standard of service, look no further than Capitol Hyundai and the DGDG group."

I've been meaning to write this review for awhile now…read more 2011 Hyundai Elantra. We had issues with the car in 2021 (within the 10 year warranty). The car was shaking, so we brought it to Capitol Hyundai. They replaced some coils under warranty. Next year (outside warranty), the same issue. They said we needed a new engine ($8k). I'm no detective, but that sounds like they put a bandaid on it that lasted long enough to make sure it went past the warranty period. Why ever buy a Hyundai again if the local dealership does shady things so they don't have to honor the warranty. What's a 10 year/100,000 mile warranty worth if it's not honored. We were already in the market for a new car at the time...an Elantra Hyundai. Good price and lots of features. So they made $8k in the very short term. Lost out on $25k+ in the near term. Lost out on all future maintenance and repairs. All that money went to Toyota Sunnyvale instead. Currently, we've been looking at new vehicles to replace a 2014 Mazda, so they lost out on $40k+ and the subsequent maintenance and repairs. Yeah, we're those people who go to the dealerships for maintenance despite the high prices because of peace of mind. The only way we'd ever entertain buying Hyundai again is if they refunded us back the $8k and the money we spent on a rental car while waiting for the engine replacement to be installed.

Who knew that in super-expensive Palo Alto, you could rent a pickup in excellent condition for four hours for under $50 all told? (A full day would have been just $10 more.) The first time had no issues. The second time, the truck failed on us Friday night [more details are below], and we had to get a last-minute rental from Enterprise, while also locating a parking lot where we could leave the faulty truck. Hengehold was not reachable because they are not open on the weekends. Then, we had to spend time/energy unloading and reloading a new truck, and a friend had to stick around on Monday to eventually get that truck towed. Hengehold refunded us the full amount. Knowing the Burning Man general schedule (which is the same every year), and as a business that must draw in a ton of revenue from the event, I'm surprised that they are not open on that Saturday/Sunday to help with these issues and provide replacements. I'm leaving 2 stars here (instead of 1) because their customer service (when they're open) has been easy to talk to and work with (including the refund part), and because we still had a positive experience the first time. We will still consider renting with them in the future. ================== More details on the second time --- We drove the truck from Palo Alto to San Francisco on Friday, and spent the day loading in our supplies. We drove the truck out that night from SF headed towards Reno, and within 1 mile it started malfunctioning. The dash said there was an SCR malfunction (see picture) & the truck started beeping. We called a technician (not affiliated with Hengehold, since it was out of hours) who spent an hour with us running tests and said there was a clogged DEF catalytic converter. He hypothesized that possibly 1) just over time they wear down or 2) bad DEF in there that caused it to happen faster than normal timeline. He said there would be large overhaul of the system needed and that it was not fixable over night. "It's absolutely not getting to Reno". When we started driving again it wouldn't go more than 2 mph.
