We arrived at 10 AM, and a friendly employee told us that we could sit at any table of our choosing. She took our order. Only one other table had customers, but we waited 30 minutes for our foods to be brought out. The employee was faster at the end when bringing our check and processing our credit-card payment. I ate a Belgian waffle with strawberries, whipped cream, powdered sugar, and syrup, and I rate it as 4.5 stars. My husband ate the Creekside Omelette, which contained ham, bacon, green pepper, onion, and cheddar cheese, as well as a cream-cheese bagel, and he liked them. The total price was $21 plus tax and tip. Other breakfast foods on the menu were eggs benedict, BLT, wrap, pancakes, French toast, biscuits and gravy, corned beef, and hash, oatmeal, sides, drinks, etc.

Since I'd just seen the report a few days earlier, I decided to drive further south and try B&B. My first impression was not favorable, first of all finding how to get to the building was a little tricky, as it sat behind a car wash. The interior of the restaurant seemed unfinished, and I visited the restroom which was sort of rundown and was also the broom closet. I ordered an Italian omelette, (I'm not sure why), it had hot sausage, peppers, and provolone cheese. My problem with the omelette was that the ingredients inside were runny and ran out of every bite. My buddy had French toast and sausage which he said were okay, but nothing special. Our verdict was that it was not horrible but not special enough for us to make a return trip.

I wanted something simple like a sandwich for dinner and didn't really want to go to a fast food or chain restaurant. I saw that Tavern in the Hills had good reviews and decided to stop in. There was a decent crowd for a random Wednesday night, including a small gathering for someone's birthday. I arrived about an hour before the kitchen closed and the bartender/server made sure I knew I had to order pretty quickly to ensure I got my food. I appreciated that there were a decent amount of pescatarian/vegetarian/vegan options, which you normally don't find at a small town restaurant. I wanted fish, fries, and a salad (for health). I wanted to order the fish sandwich (broiled) with both as sides, but the server recommended I get the dinner plate instead as it would be cheaper than paying for the second side. I still got it as a sandwich, but didn't realize I'd be charged extra for the roll. I got the salad right away which I decided to hold onto until I had my meal. My fish came out soon thereafter. I was a bit disappointed that the sandwich was just the broiled fish on the roll, no sauce or anything. I spread the tartar sauce I requested on the bread so it would have extra flavor. The fish was decent: it was surprisingly very fishy. I'm not sure if the seasoning blend was off for my palate or what but it just wasn't really my cuppa. I enjoyed the fries, they were well made. One thing I noted is that all the seating in the front is at high tops. There is a room toward the back with regular seating but it seemed like that was more of a special event space and not the regular dining section, which isn't helpful for accessibility.
