I set up an appointment for what I thought was a bad starter on my daughter's car. Turns out that when my daughter changed the battery, she put the plastic battery cover on backwards and that caused one battery cable to become loose. Asked me to text information of where disabled vehicle is located. We were on the side of the freeway which is always scary. He asked us to remain inside the vehicle until he arrives. I managed to get my car jumped and home on a Friday night after it died while I was grabbing dinner. Woke up the next day and it was dead again. I called Roadside Mike to inquire about having him bring me a new battery. Unfortunately, his own van was in the shop. I didn't have anywhere to go - so we agreed I could wait a day. I was on the freeway in the middle of horrible rush hour morning traffic, on my way to a very important court hearing and I ran out of gas. Absolutely the best. Mike turned a stressful afternoon. My son had a flat tire and did not have a spare. Mike came and took the bad tire off, took it to Discount tire and had that tire replaced. He helped me with the deposit for the full set and put our name in the queue. He returned to the car on the side of the road put the new tire on. We went immediately to Discount tire where we were next on their list. There were many people waiting for service but thanks to Mike we were in and out very quickly. On Friday May 28, 2021, out of nowhere I saw my engine temperature gauge start to show very hot. I was lucky to stop the car under a bridge which provided a nice shade as the day was very hot. I cannot afford to destroy the only car I have. With no warning, I opened the hood and could see I lost all my coolant. My hands were shaking trying to figure out what to do. As I am currently unemployed, quotes for a tow truck from Tempe back to Phoenix were in the $200 range. I have to save money so that was out of the question. In a state of despair, a car pulls up behind me. The driver opens his window and asks if I had a tow coming or if I needed help. My answer was I'm trying to figure it out. He asked what happened and asked if he could take a look at the engine to see what was going on. I always carry plenty of water and coolant. I added all I had to the reservoir and when I started the car, the reservoir coolant would not go down. Well, Mike had coolant and he poured all he had into my radiator. The reason my engine wasn't taking the coolant from the reservoir was because the water pump wasn't circulating the coolant. He then gave me instructions that saved my engine and got me home safe. On a hot day, I was told to run my heater at the hottest setting and, to make sure the blower was on high too. This trick causes the system to create a vacuum that pulls the coolant from the radiator into the engine block. Well it worked. All my windows were down. But thank God I got home and my temperature never went above the halfway mark the entire way. I have an honest mechanic and an appointment on Wednesday to fix whatever the issue is. I cannot say enough about Mike. He didn't want to charge me a penny. I gave him $20, and I will send him more around the middle of this month. Mike is extremely nice, assuring, and caring. All he cared about was helping a stranded motorist. His energy calmed me down and I was able to see another day with my only car. It's an old 4Runner that runs great. After 248,000 miles, the water pump gave out. This is a long review because it needs to be. You can count on Mike to treat you right. I want his business to grow because he deserves it. I am sure that if I had an issue on the way home, he would have helped me again. Before he departed, he said something that speaks volumes about him as a person. He said, "on or off duty, if I see a stranded motorist, I have to stop and see if I can help." We do have good Samaritan's and Angels on this planet.
