Thankfully, help arrived before I had time to spiral into Googling "How to survive permanently stranded in your driveway." The roadside assistance technician showed up calm, professional, and completely unfazed by my dramatic retelling of events. Within minutes, they diagnosed the issue, got things sorted out, and brought my car back to life like some kind of automotive wizard. What could have turned into a full‑blown inconvenience (or emotional breakdown) ended up being quick and painless. No lectures, no eye‑rolling...just efficient help and a running vehicle again. The car was not tired, but the battery was a bit weak. While roadside service was free through our insurance plan, we had to pay for battery, which was reasonably priced. Thanks to roadside assistance, my car is no longer staging protests, and I can once again go about my day pretending this never happened. We were not their customers, but when they found our precious belongings abandoned on the side of the highway with the moving truck they were there to tow, Hit tracked us down and did everything in his power to make it right. He and the crew spent 18 hours picking up every piece, things that anyone else would have thrown in the dumpster or left to rot (the moving company had done just that). Because of this selfless effort on their part, my husband and I were reunited with heirlooms from our grandparents, important papers, memories, things that would have broken our hearts to lose permanently. No one *wants* to need a tow truck…read more When my stepson decided that his Toyota Rav-4 didn't need oil for about 3 months, and left shards of engine all over 290 near Manor, we called our insurance's roadside assistance. They sent Tiger Trux. We were worried because it was in a bad spot, and a UT football game was on. Sure enough, when the driver arrived, he said he was at a family gathering watching the game. But he got there quickly, was courteous, and careful with the deceased. The way he placed the car against our curb when he dropped it off was masterful. Fast forward to a foggy morning a few weeks ago when I slid off the slippery MoPac access, striking the curb (WHAMMO) and snapping my tie rod, I remembered the good service previously provided and asked my insurance company for their number again. Before I could even blink (thankfully, as I was worried I'd be rear-ended by a texting morning commuter), Randall was there with the flat bed. Nice as can be. ("We're not going far, so I"ll just charge you the minimum.") Now, a broken tie rod, and a right wheel pointing perpendicular to the road and not really connected to anything, increases the difficulty a bit. And I do like my car. A lot. So I was worried a bit. But he did things with the hydraulic ramp that I couldn't imagine(pic added), and safely aboard we were ready to roll. He even complimented me because "usually customers aren't this nice". I was all... It's my dumb fault, not yours. Why would I be mad at you? But yeah, he does see folks at some of their low points. Got to the repair shop, and they told him to put the car in a pretty inaccesible spot, or so I thought. Before I even knew, he had it perfectly placed in a parking spot. Not bad for a car that couldn't roll. Whenever I need towing services, especially north, I'll be calling Tiger Trux Towing.
