Arranged for car transport three months in advance. They sent regular assurances everything was on schedule. When it comes time to ship, they give you lots of hot air. It appears they let you hang without a carrier, and then try to shake you down for more money. These guys have no credibility whatsoever. This is a simple shakedown op. read more

RUN, do not walk, the other way. Seriously all around horrible experience. We called 10 days prior to when we need our car picked up. They answered right away and gave us a quote for our luxury sports car - we requested enclosed since it is an expensive car and gave all of the car details at the time of the quote. Ever since our initial quote, where they quoted us $895 over the phone, it was nearly impossible to get someone on the phone. As all of the other reviews say, you are on hold for about 5 minutes, then you get a voicemail - which no one returns. Eventually the call would just hang up, I'm convinced they were screening my calls. No one called to confirm what day the car would be picked up - we found out by logging in on their website. The day before we were scheduled for pick up we received a bill via email for $1,095, $200 more than our quote over the phone. When we finally got someone on the chat feature, after waiting an hour, they didn't have a reason why it all of a sudden was more expensive. On the day of our confirmed pickup date someone called in the morning and told us we needed to pay an additional $500 for insurance since the car is expensive. We declined the insurance and asked what time the car would be picked up. We were told sometime between 9am and 9pm and they would call 2-3 hours prior to pick up. By 8:45pm no phone call and no one came. They did not show up, or even bother to call and let us know on the confirmed date of pickup. We called SEVERAL times, emailed, chatted, etc and they emailed us back the next morning and said they have a 48 hour commitment window for pickup. As we're moving, we don't have 48 hours to wait for the car to be picked up. I called the next morning, called over and over again for over an hour, with no answer. Still can't get a hold of anyone to cancel and get refunded since they already charged my credit card. HORRIBLE customer service! Seriously cannot get over how poor of an experience we have had with them. I read the Yelp reviews after our initial calls - should have read them before! read more

One star added for celebrity name drop on their website (Nikki Minaj), 0 stars for experience dealing with them. They have a well laid out website, and entering relevant information related to shipping a car is easy, and you are emailed a quote. In my case, I requested quotes from multiple transporters and Roadrunner was the highest quote. Fooled by their good website and Nicki Minaj picture I was ready to pull the trigger on the highest quote. Now you think, the quote is the price you would be paying for getting this company to ship your car, right? No my friend, you are wrong, the quote they email you is only the first step in the tango that is bound to commence when they ask you to call them back and quote an even higher price. That's when the music stopped, words were exchanged, I asked for cancellation 3rd time and nice man on the other end hung up on me. If you want to experience customer service like how it used to be with shady businesses, before internet, Yelp and online reviews, definitely give Roadrunner a try. read more

This auto transport company's service was a complete disappointment, warranting no stars and feeling like an utter waste of time. On April 16th, I initiated a booking to transport a vehicle between states, receiving a confirmation PDF with the agreed-upon price. However, weeks later, with no carrier assigned, I reached out for an update, only to be given vague assurances about assignment timelines and delivery expectations, including the representative stating I would not need to be home for delivery. Fast forward to May 2nd, and I'm informed of significant changes to my booking: a deposit is now required on my card, a 100 increase in the total price, now requiring a cash balance payment, all while I'm not expected to be present for delivery. None of this was outlined in their terms and conditions, and the representative's attempt to justify it fell flat. All the representative could share was that the carriers dictate pricing. Again, not outlined in their terms and conditions. I will share that they made sure to indicate that there is a 135 dollar cancellation fee, but even those conditions are vague where they refuse to outline any ownership of cancellation from their wrong doing. This mishandling has resulted in delayed gift delivery with a severe lack of communication, failing to meet even basic standards. read more

Do not be fooled into trusting this company. Similar to other reviewers, I was defrauded into believing that this was a real company by a sales person named Anthony, who reached out to me after I requested a quote and was able to answer all of my questions while promising me a delivery date of 7/8. In order to request the top load, I called them back and was put in touch with another person immediately, which also made me feel like I was in good hands. Fast forward to the days before / of the scheduled pick-up, I tried to call this company over 25+ times over the course of 7/7 and 7/8 in order to check-in on the status of the carrier assignment (which had still been worryingly pending) and to lock down pick-up times for the seller of the vehicle I was purchasing, who was on a long vacation and needed firm confirmation because he was making a 6+ hours roundtrip drive. Of course, no one answered despite how many times I called and the online chat service was a bot that had the same generic answers over and over again. If helpful to others, I finally managed to cancel the booking through their cancellations hotline (888) 574-6638 (which was suspiciously picked up promptly after no answer on the other company phone numbers over 25+ calls) and they promised not to charge me a fee but it remains to be seen because these people are LIARS and FRAUDSTERS. Save yourself from the stress and headache and avoid this company at all costs. read more

A Nightmare! DONT USE THIS COMPANY! I booked nearly two months in advance. Come the day I booked my car to move, practically unreachable customer service. I booked transportation with this company and they called after I gave my credit card information to inform me that the price has gone up. After an unfriendly and ungrateful conversation with their dispatcher I still agreed to continue with the transport. 1. I received no contact from them from the quote of $1280 to the contract of $1495. When I got the email immediately after saying I would use them, I only thought I was approving your terms and conditions, not signing up for more money. And then I was told due to the increased volume at that time I needed to pay and additional $200. So $1280 jumped to $1685 2. I spoke directly with the company who actually took my car to Boston to check on the car delivery. They said that they new nothing about an additional $200 because of the business being overly busy at that time. They said that when the car is delivered and signed off they bill RoadRunner for $1300. So $1300 bumped up to $1685. 3. Searching the internet I read all kinds of war stories about the bid versus the delivered amount from your company. The tactic appears to be pretty consistent from reading. My broker Jonathan is even mentioned by name in one of them. I believed your website and the number of 5 star reviews you claim to have. And all of the stars you say you have shipped for "stars" with raving reviews. So I filed a complaint with the Better Business Bureau in New York. I encourage many of you who told the truth on Yelp to do the same. Based on the number of 1* reviews on yelp ( 16 in the last month alone) I am guessing it won't do much good. read more

Literally the worst company I've ever dealt with. They quoted a price and a date to pick up our car and transport it from Florida to New York. We traveled to Florida to meet with them. The day before the car was supposed to be picked up they changed the date and doubled the price. It was too late for us to cancel. On the designated day, they simply never showed up. You can be sure a charge for $1300 was on our AmEx bill though. Completely disreputable. read more

This company purposely quotes low online and then when you call they say they "need to talk to their manager" to see if they can honor the quote they already gave you. I'm talking a one day difference here. The quote was $1025.00 and they wanted to charge $1195 less than 24 hours later. The phone rep insulted me by saying "since you haven't done this before and don't know anything about it" (he doesn't have a clue what I do or do not know - he doesn't know me) , then follows it up with their sales line about how they are all brokers and need to check market on what a driver will accept to ship the car. These folks are liars. Bad business - do not use them. Imagine, even if you pay more money to another vendor that at least you won't be lied to, jerked around and probably upsoldin price later to get your car back. If they are dishonest up front, imagine how they will treat you when they have the leverage of your car. August 2, 2018. Police: This business warrants an active investigation from the DA's office. Made reservations and was quoted a price of $785 to ship my car from Tucson Az to Cambria Ca a Distance of 725 miles and was given a pick up date. four days after the pick up date they finally contacted me and told me that they have a Truck but that I would have to pay $1,040 instead of the quoted price of $785.... This is what is called bait and switch. Then just a few hours before the pickup time they contacted me and told me the driver canceled. These people are slime bags!!! and they also don't answer the phone read more

THE WORST! Out of state move. During the sale phase, we are assured the pick up would be on a set day. Less than 24h from the set pickup day, still no carrier assignment. Their customer service line is closed hours before the posted times on their website when you try calling in the afternoons to try and check on the status of carrier assignment. When someone finally answers, rude customer service rep now says that the pick up DAY is actually a pick up window of a few days! What!? How about a heads up so people can plan! There is a complete disconnect between what you're sold and what you get. read more

There is no excuse in 2020 to treat customers like this. Feels like a bait and switch service at this point. My sales rep, Andrew was super attentive until I agreed to use the service. I booked with Andrew yesterday morning. He stated I would be getting a call from their dispatch right away as the pickup date was tomorrow. Never once did he mention this was a tentative date more or less it could be weeks later as some reviews mention. I emailed him today to see why neither myself nor the pickup contact has not heard from anyone at dispatch. I have heard nothing back. First red flag. So I called more than 10 times and can not get anyone on the phone. It rings for a few minutes then transfers you to a voicemail that is "unavailable to leave a message because the mailbox is full". SECOND RED FLAG! Try their web chat and it is either a bot or the rep was non-responsive after saying hello. Messages showed as read but no response for well over 15 minutes. THIRD RED FLAG. I haven't heard from anyone and can not reach anyone. Tried from 10 am to now CST. I guess if you can't talk to anyone then you cant cancel is the game they play? Seriously the worst customer service I have ever experienced from the second day. I went thru the reviews on their site and they are all great until I found yelp. Nearly all the reviews from recently say the same things. Great until you sign up and then no way to contact a human. Sketch! I am supposed to just send my car off with no way to talk to anyone? NO THANKS! read more

absolute garbage, don't use them. They don't answer the phone, they don't pick up on time, lousy customer service

I was impressed at first with this company at the beginning because of the customer service and reviews I saw online. On June 26, I placed and confirmed my reservation from Las Vegas to Indiana on July 14th. I was assured that the weekend before pick-up I would receive a call going over the process. The weekend came and I did not receive a call. I did check my order online and it showed still pending on the 13th. I called and after 2 hours of trying to reach someone, I finally got an agent. The agent told me it is within the window and I should receive a call on the 14th. The optimal world is "I should." I immediately reached out to three other carriers on the 13th as I could not change my plans. I was immediately told by all three that they see my job in their system out for bid. However, due to the price quoted they doubt any carrier would pick it up. I was quoted by each company at a realistic price of about $200 more for a last-minute pick-up. On the 14th, I never received a call, follow-up, email, or something saying we are trying to find a carrier to take your vehicle. They are brokers and they bid out your job. There is no customer service, follow up, and you can never get a hold of them. Just as the previous person I called and requested a new quote. I spoke to Anthony right away and told him I wanted to cancel. He immediately transferred me over back to there hold queue and did not offer to help. All he said well we just open and there are long hold times. Thank you Road Runner Auto Transport, I now have to my wife drive her car versus flying. Run Run Run from this company!!! read more

But they won't answer when I call for details of my shipping. Strange My tracking number doesn't work, and my email is apparently not in there online system anymore or ever was. They said that there was no need for the actual year or license plate number. Big red flag Still waiting for them to call me back I should have listened to the 1 star review. It has now been 3 days since I was charged 1,736$ And has now been 2 days since they were supposed to pick up my truck They have hung up on me for 2 days straight Denied my call multiple times and still have not picked up the truck or been in contact with me If I sold my dogs turds at a restaurant I would get better customer feedback then this company Day 4 they said they would call me back yesterday They must have called the wrong number "Don't bother reading the road runner auto response to this post" it's on automated voice message that they just record from their voicemail Never use this business to ship a feather" If anyone has any recommendations for a auto shipment company please reply to me much appreciated Using road runner auto transport is like asking someone to do a job paying them and then they just simply never return ur call or do the job read more

This company is not reliable and not truthful. The car needed to be transported only five miles at a charge of $395!! They picked it up and said it would be delivered the same day. Their website said it was delivered. NOT TRUE! Not only was it not delivered, but I waited on hold for over an hour trying to get information. No one ever answered. The following day I made multiple phone calls, sent emails, left messages. The only response was that it would be delivered which is what they said the previous day. The emails were completely ignored. I finally asked for a manager and was told she would get the message, but that she returns calls in the order in which they are received. I have no idea where the car is and cannot get an answer from these people. This is utterly ridiculous for a five mile trip at an outrageous cost of $395.00. Appalling customer service. My money should be refunded. I most definitely do NOT recommend this company and would caution anyone against even the thought of hiring them. Kathy C. read more

Excellent service and would definitely use this company again. They got my car to me ahead of schedule from California to STL.

I need to echo the sentiments of what a horrible customer experience I have had with this company. Typically if you are transporting a car it is because you are moving...which is stressful enough, working with this company made it a nightmare. The long and short...unless you want to waste money, spends hours of your precious time and be really frustrated avoid this company at all costs. I booked an auto transport from Florida to Massachusetts a month and a week prior to needing the car delivered. The individual I worked with told me the car would be picked up on Monday June 22nd. That day came and went...no carrier assigned. I called no less 15 times, emailed, chatted and got ZERO response other than they were working on it. I have spent ~4hrs trying to get answers. This beyond unacceptable. Finally today I got a human on the phone who told me my order was on some "urgent list." That's great...but simply not communicating this to me yesterday that there was a delay is what I take the most issue with. I requested to speak with a manager...never got a call back. Did finally get a message that a carrier was assigned...but it actually hadn't been. A rude, unsympathetic jerk calls me from Road Runners, I was frustrated and expressed that, he told me would cancel my reservation...and before I told him not to and that I wanted to speak with a manager he hung up on me. This company should be ashamed of what they call a customer experience. They have caused me anxiety, stress and anger all of which could have been avoided if they delivered on what had been promised. read more

Bad customer service, no one picked up my calls or answered my emails. It was absolutely the worst experience I've had working with a company in a long time. And it seems, reading the other reviews, that my issues and situation are very common. I very rarely, if ever, write a review, so trust me when I say do not work with this business or give them any support. They are all too willing to take your money but when you need anything from them, whether it's a general question or otherwise, you will be on hold for 40 minutes and never reach anyone. I have been calling for a week straight because the delivery was consistently delayed, day after day, to a week later than what I was quoted, and the original quote jumped another $300. Shane Espinoza, my guide apparently who would be there to field any questions or concerns would never answer his phone nor respond to any question or voicemail I left him. This company will take your money and then completely ghost you and if you are one of those very, very rare individuals in which it does work out for you and your car is shipped, that's fantastic, but please do not risk it when that is a very very very small fraction of their client base who actually received service. There is about a 5% chance you will actually talk to anyone or have your call answered and if Shane Espinoza is your direct contact, there is a 0% chance you will ever receive assistance. They are all too happy to take your money, but when issues arise, which they will they are absolutely nowhere to be found. Please trust the reviews and the rating on this website and do not give any business to this sham of a company. They are an absolute disgrace in ensuring customer satisfaction, timely delivery, and communication. read more

Delivery was fast and the driver was very friendly and helpful, with good contact/updates. he even removed the dealer temporary registration and put it inside the car so it didn't get damaged by the weather during transport. my only complaint was that the first driver Road Runner lined up was cance and replaced and I wasn't notified until the day it was initially supposed to be delivered that it was now being picked up by someone else. I feel like Road Runner should have let me know the first driver fell through and it would take a couple days to line up a new one. Otherwise the service was fast and reliable, so thank you for that. read more

We were moving out of state and had to leave our car unattended. I called several times to be kept on hold until THEY disconnected the call. I never got to speak to an agent in person. So i booked my reservations about a month in advance as i am changing military duty stations from New York to Georgia. I made the pick up date for Friday 7/8 for for a price around $1200, with the vehicle scheduled to arrive on the weekend which was perfect as i would be free to pick it up at the drop off location. The morning of 7/8 came and went with no word deapite multiple call atrenpts to confirm. When i steppwd off the plane in Georgia the called me to tell me they car couldn't be picked up today, would wait until 7/9 and the price was jacked up from 1200 to over 1600 dollars. I reluctantly agreed. My girlfriend stayed home again, and i received an email saying the pick up was again canceled. No call, and still cant reach anyone. So im left basically out of luck scrambling to figure out what to do, and will most likely have to find another company, with dates at the end up July, which will leave me without a car for almost a month. read more

Stay away from this company. Booked a month before pick up & no communication up to a day before I needed the car loaded and I had to contact them. No calls answered only on line so called "service advisors". Would not confirm date or time of pick up, but booking says your card is charged full price as soon as transport assigned. Asked if they would confirm P/U but got no confirmation. Others said they waited a week for any response & most times the quoted price went up. Fine print tells you there is a cancellation fee, too. Once they have your contact, customer support is next to impossible to contact. The phone system will ring for 5 mins and say please leave a message. If you use the website they will cancel your help ticket without contacting you or helping. When you are getting a quote they are super nice and will promise the world. In reality they have no ability to deliver specific dates, or prices. And when you call befuddled as to why you don't have a carrier the DAY OF, you get the age old line, "this is just how things work, we have been doing this for 30 years". They will not tell you what your contact is posted at either. I have no way of knowing if they are way under-bidding just to line their pockets. Use literally anyone else. read more
