It is not often I write reviews for any company, but this one has really done me in. The only plus for this company is their timeliness in processing my refund. I know this is a long post, but please read it through so you get a full picture of how this company operates.
As for what led to my refund, it started when my vehicle was not picked up at the date stated on their tracking website, which was on a Monday. I'm usually a very patient person, and understood per their guidelines that pickup and delivery dates were estimated. A day later? No problem. I was sent an email later that day providing the phone number for the carrier they have assigned me to. I called the carrier the next day to ask for the status (since they did not reach out to me directly), and after a few attempts to reach out, they finally pick up and told me their truck broke down, and there would be a delay while they transfer vehicles over to the new truck. Okay, fine. They said they'd pick up my vehicle that Friday.
Friday rolls around. I've received no communication from the carrier. I call them AGAIN. They then delay it yet another time, promising pickup on Saturday or Sunday. Saturday rolls by... nothing. Sunday rolls by... yeah. You guessed it. Nothing. I called them that Sunday, and they didn't even pick up. Awesome.
I am getting peeved now; it's been nearly a week, and my car is still where it has been from the start. Lots of delays, lots of broken promises. But it only gets worse from here, folks.
See, it's exactly one week later when the carrier finally calls me to state they have a pick-up time. Right on!... Until they inform me that the pick-up spot will be entirely different from what I initially provided with RoadRunner. WHAT?? Mind you, I have already flown to my relocation destination, and my relative who was tasked with handing over the vehicle was unable to make the trip due to prior commitments. This threw everyone off, and I was not going to be able to make those arrangements with such a short notice! I called the carrier, informed them of the situation and asked why they couldn't pick my vehicle up from the address provided. They said it was residential, and their truck can't fit. Oh! Well, if that were the case, why was that not communicated to me prior? RoadRunner advertised themselves as a DOOR-TO-DOOR SERVICE!!!!
I told the carrier that I was unable to get the car to the location they wanted, and the call went super sour; the carrier muttered 'Oh my god' under his breath when I asked for clarification, and was raising his voice at me. Unprofessional, and outright rude. I felt super uncomfortable with the carrier touching my vehicle at that point with how he was acting, and I promptly told him to cancel my order.
I had entrusted RoadRunner to connect me to a reliable carrier to ensure my vehicle's delivery, and they did NOT deliver. I was highly disappointed with my service; they don't even answer the phone in a timely manner either! I realized after waiting 20+ minutes for them to pick up (used every phone number they had, even booking), they just weren't going to answer. They advertise themselves as reliable, yet they are anything but.
Needless to say, do NOT book with this company. They clearly care about your money more than ensuring proper care and delivery. Once you get a carrier assigned, they throw the carrier's phone number at you and move on. Their hands are washed of your situation thereafter, even when it should be the brokerage's responsibility to represent their paying customers!!
Additionally, the bait and switch tactics explained on other Yelp reviews below are accurate; that quote you see online will NOT be the quote you will have when your 'ready date' draws near. They will rely on you being short on time in order to finalize the sale and take more money. I thought I was paying $940. I ended up having to give them $1040. At least I got my money back after that fiasco. read more
