If you want to snack on something while enjoying a beer, they have some delicious buffalo wing sauce flavored popcorn that are super addictive. Let's be honest: this review has been a long time coming. We were there on opening day and loved everything we tried and have been back many times since as they continually deliver amazing beers and incredible service. My go to beers when I visit are either the Mini Van Dad Double IPA or the Somoa. The Mini Van Dad has a nice smooth clean yet hoppy taste to it and the Somoa is dark, rich, and a little sweet. It's heaven in a glass. Speaking of glasses-keep your eyes tuned to their social media feed as recently they've instituted "keep the glass nights" where upon purchasing one of their beers you get to take home some really cool glassware. The taproom is per friendly and not only do they have local food trucks park out front they also allow for outside food to be brought in as well. On the front wall, near the giant roadmap logo they have shelves of various games to play at your table while enjoying your beer and also corn hole set up in the back part of the taproom. Staff has always been super friendly and will allow you to do a sample/tasting before you decide which beer you're gonna settle down with. The fact that the staff recognize me when I enter should tell you that not only do I gush about this place, but I am also a frequent visitor. The beer is great. The venue is great. I love this place. I've been here at least 5 times and I've had a good experience every single time. My boyfriend and I love to sit at the bar and ask about the different beer selections. The names of the beers are fun and it's very affordable to drink here. They allow you to have food delivered and they have different food trucks as well. They have plenty of games to keep you entertained. This is a great after work spot, but even better for day drinking on Saturday. It's not smack dab downtown, just a tad north of it, so that means you can find parking (if you know where to look). Mostly street meter parking (free after 9PM M-Sa, but Sundays are free), or you can find a pay lot nearby. You might have to walk a few blocks, but that's no sweat. The place has a kind of industrial, concrete, open air vibe to it, and I like that. I had the WTHef and the Balleyseede Irish red ale. The hef was good, but the red ale really stole the show. I enjoyed it so much that I'm on the lookout for this brew at other establishments in the area. From what I recall, there are no restrooms in the brewery. That doesn't make sense to me. I don't know about y'all, but in my world, beer = frequent restroom trips. Regardless of the restroom situation, I'll check this place out again. I can always run across the street to the gas station and use their restroom. :) read more

It's a great place to hangout! I like Hefeweizen type of beer. I always enjoy WTHefe and also I like Alright Alright Alright (Pilsner). Staff are very friendly and the atmosphere is nice. There is a food truck outside. So you can order the food and bring it inside, then enjoy beer and food together. The food truck was used to be "Project Pollo", but now "Last Place Burger". Yum! So where should I begin? I ask myself first am I reviewing the "Grand Opening" of a business, which is an event in itself or just the place? In other words is this necessarily fair to a business still working out its kinks; first day jitters. Given this conundrum I decided to review it solely on its product. Like I always say the proof's in the pudding or should I say the hops in the beer. Let me preface by getting a few things out of the way. There are two separate parking lots which seems precarious since it's located downtown. They both have the potential to fill up quickly. Will space free up once the initial hype has dissipated? The brewery itself is a mid-sized place both sleek and industrial. Walking inside I felt a sense of familiarity rather than experiencing a unique vision. My impression is that its intended audience is downtown workers, loft dwellers or tourists. There is ample seating inside. Long tables. High tables. Seating for small groups. Various interactive games(cards, boardgames, cornhole). I like that there are two areas to place orders with accompanying visible taplist menus. I must add that they really moved lines rather quickly that afternoon despite the bearded moshpit. Again am I reviewing a "Grand Opening" event or a new addition to our emerging craft beer scene? This is where I implemented simple Yelp Mathematics: the product either makes or breaks a place. Which brings me to their beers. Having a brewery dead center downtown not far from the Alamo is a bold statement. In my opinion the beers should be equal to that. Since a flight was not an option that day for understandable reasons I did try three of their beers. In my opinion as far as their flavors were concerned they were lacking. For example the "Smucker's Night Out Rasberry Saison" was really too tart. It tasted more like a sour than a saison. The next one I tried "Wake Up Call" a milk stout had a coffee sensibility but would benefit from hiking up the booze in it, as it was lacking in body. And all places at this point have a New England IPA on their menu. Their take on it the "Lil Rhody" seemed like your average IPA. Typically a New England IPA is more hazy and hoppy. I was hoping for beers that not only added to the narrative but took SA craft beer to the next level. Instead the flavors seemed rather safe. Roadmap Brewery is the newest place to throw its hat in the SA Craft Beer game. Its location assures it consistent traffic. What it does with that in the span of its time will determine its influence. If you're looking for a spot to socialize, to unwind after work and want to try very approachable beers this is your spot. Me, my palate prefers "The road less travelled." read more

I love this brewery. They have such a wide variety of beer styles, you are sure to find something everyone enjoys. Everyone who works there is very knowledgeable about beer. They are pet friendly and even have a resident cat who lives there. There are also dog treats by the cash register. They don't have food inside but the food truck outside is delicious and you can bring your food inside. They also have a really large space so distancing is not a problem. Also, try the popcorn from the Alamo City Popcorn Company by the register, I recommend the Spicy Buffalo. read more

Grand opening day was a success! They had food trucks in the front even though it was raining and people got to get their fill on food and beer. First thing I enjoyed was if you get there early there's no lines, but as the day progressed more people came in which is great for a businesses opening day! I like all the beers but my favorite is the jalapeño milk stout because it's a different type of taste but once you have a sip you want to keep drinking. They have two ordering places at bar left and right. You can sit at bar or take a seat from their many wood tables which are comfortable to sit at. This place is a great addition to the neighborhood which has not had much success in the past besides la Roca and the artisan which is directly next door which I also amazing. I recommend playing some free board games you can see when you walk in and also there's great parking with huge signs at the head of the street of the business. I'll return with a large group of friends next time. I liked the music playing but maybe in the future adding a touch tunes option would be good! read more

Roadmap is a neighborhood favorite of mine. They always come with great attitudes, smiling faces and over all good vibes. I'm not a huge beer drinker but they seem to have a beer for everyone. They welcome you to stay and enjoy with board games, corn hole, giant jenga, and even encourage you to bring food or order food to eat while you're there. They have some TV's to watch the games that are on and also see some snacks as well. They usually always have food trucks outside which always have great food! COVID procedures: I feel that they are taking great precautions to continue great service while also keeping patrons and employees safe. Hand sanitizer everywhere, roped off lines to make it one-way to order food or snacks and one-way entrance and exits. The place is cute, but the cat situation is terrible (it's super aggressive) and their bathrooms are DISGUSTING. There was literal fuzz growing inside the bowl. If they cared about keeping their bathrooms as clean as they cared about people not touching that cat, they'd be immaculate. read more

Came here during our recent trip to San Antonio! Being originally from Indiana we were glancing at the menu and saw they had a beer called Peyton Mannings forehead and knew we had to stop in! Was a great place to watch some of the World Cup games and happily took advantage of their happy hour $5 beer special! We tried a few of their beers but kept going back to the Hefeweizen!
