Road Runner Sports is located in Chauncey Ranch Commerce Center. Even though I had just purchased a new pair of athletic shoes, I have been wanting to get my feet evaluated. There were two customers ahead of me. I looked at a few items in the store and was helped in about five minutes. I was measured for an insole. Staff heated the insole. I then stepped on a piece of equipment that would mold the insole to my foot. Staff were super helpful. She had me try on some slight compression socks. Once the insole was ready as well as my results, staff got me a pair of shoes. She placed the insoles inside and had me try them on. They felt so good. I was on a time crunch so I had to leave shortly after that. Staff sent me the foot evaluation results to my email. Interesting process and good to know the results. Shared parking lot. read more

Thank you Shannon!! My entire family are frequent flyers of Road Runner at many different locations. During this last visit, Shannon was by far the most professional and friendly. She was the only one that was welcoming. I'm not going to let this one experience tarnish my feelings. Sadly, by nature negative experiences, seem to thrive longer in oneself. Like I said before, Shannon was professional, patient, knowledgeable and welcoming. Thank you so much. read more

While I often find myself on the north side of Mayo Blvd visiting the Harkins movie theatre or the stores or restaurants there, I haven't been to the south side of Mayo Blvd for quite a number of year. A doctor recently recommended that I visit Road Runner Sports, so I made a trip out of it recently. I was intrigued and impressed by the service, products, and the way things are organized at Road Runner Sports; however, due to stopping by on the weekend, I had a long wait to see someone. I know to come on a weekday after work in the future. I recently learned that I needed stability running shoes to complement my orthotics. When I entered Road Runner Sports, I checked in by giving my name (and later learned if I gave a phone number, I could actually leave the store and get called when my turn was up). There were at least four staff members calling names and helping them while another person was getting people signed in. I eventually had Val call my name, and I explained what I was looking to do. She understood what I needed. She had me measure my feet using a MyFootBalance machine. It provided me my foot length, food width, arch height, static foot alignment, heel width and girth, arch length, ball width and girth, instep height and girth, ankle circumference, and forefoot height. Val gave me some thin socks to wear while I was in the store. Then, she brought out various pairs of shoes and walked me through trying them on with my orthotics. I learned that I should be considering a shoe size a half-size larger than what I thought I needed. That certainly made a huge difference! I got some good ideas of what I wanted to do moving forward, though the prices seemed quite a bit more than what they are online (similar to any physical store). Having started as a family business in 1983, the chain of stores has expanded to over 50 locations in 12 states coast to coast. You can visit the Road Runner Sports website (https://www.roadrunnersports.com) to shop online, join the reward program, check out the virtual perfect fit finder, sign up on their e-mail list for shoe alerts, special savings, and more, learn about upcoming events, and find out where nearby stores are located. They also give back to the community in various ways. Find out more about the VIP (reward) program at https://www.roadrunnersports.com/vip/membership-levels. This particular location is open on Sunday from 10 AM to 6 PM and every other day of the week from 10 AM to 7 PM. As I learned earlier, the secret is visiting on a weekday when I have a day off or after work. Otherwise, be prepared for a wait, but you can leave your phone number and go next door to Whole Foods or else to the Container Store and get a call when it's your turn. read more

Extremely friendly staff and very knlwedgeable. A bit pricey, but they do several tests to ensure you get the perfect shoe for your lifestyle or interest. Great selection! Great place to touch and try on all of the styles of running shoes. The staff is very knowledgable about a very wide variety. We purchased a pair of Hokas and a pair of Asics. I recommend going in during the week. They are too busy for the level of service they are trying to provide on the weekends with all of the tire kickers. read more

I have been a loyal customer of your company for more than 30 years and have consistently received the high level of service your brand is known for. That is why my most recent visit, on either April 2 or April 3, was so disappointing. The sales associate, Ian, displayed a clear lack of interest in assisting me. Instead of providing customer service, he spent much of his time on his phone and remained in the warehouse while I waited for assistance. His behavior was unprofessional and fell well below the standard I have come to expect from your company. It was, without question, the worst customer-service experience I have had at this location. It is deeply disappointing to see how much the quality of service has declined since this store first opened. Longtime customers should be able to expect attentive, professional service, and my recent experience fell far short of that expectation. I am bringing this matter to your attention because I believe it warrants review. read more

Well, the sales people in the store were fine and the selection was good. When I bought my shoes in January of last year, they apparently signed me up for a VIP package. Never told me I was signing up for a VIP package. Must've used an explicit denial on the point-of-sale system that made you check a box that said I do not want to be part of the VIP system because I didn't check any boxes and I got a bill from them this month for a one year renewal of a family membership. A membership, which was not explained which the price was not explicitly called out and which is not on my receipt. Apparently this is a well-known scam they run. They were sued for it in 2019 Calling the police-800 number was not helpful they magically can't find my "membership." They can't use the phone number that I used (which is how their POS system will look it up if I go buy shoes in the store ) and we're generally unhelpful. read more

We live 2 hours from a retail store, so I ordered a jacket on the Roadrunner website as a Father's Day gift for my husband. Ordered on June 10, received about 5 days later, left unopened until Father's Day, June 21. He tried on the jacket, too smalI, so I contacted customer support who told me a larger size was not available and emailed me a return shipping label. I returned the jacket to UPS in the original packaging and condition on June 23. On July 6, I contacted customer support to inquire about my refund. I had paid with a combination of VIP points and credit card. I was told I had been emailed a gift card(which I did not receive). I asked why I did not get a credit refund on my card for the portion that had been charged to my card, to my shock I was told the jacket was returned in "charitable donation" condition and not eligible for a refund to my credit card. It was less than 2 weeks from the day I placed the order to the day I returned the jacket. We are in Arizona, in mid June, not exactly jacket weather! I have PAID for a VIP membership since 2019, you would think common sense would dictate that maybe their receiving department made an error in tagging the jacket as used, rather than assuming I was lying about the condition of the jacket. I was only asking for the original $40 charged to be refunded back to my credit card. Then to make a bad situation worse, conveniently (for Roadrunner Sports) they had the correct email to get the jacket back, but not the correct email for me to get a refund gift card. So now I have no jacket and not even a gift card. Never again will I do business with a company who gladly took my money for 6 years of VIP membership and assumed I was trying to scam them out of $40 by returning a used jacket. read more

This review is for the new Phoenix Location on Camelback and Central: I am a runner and was excited this store came to my neighborhood (Road Runner Sports Camelback). However, when I visited the store yesterday 6/13 to purchase new trail running shoes, I was told that I was not allowed to try on any shoes unless I participated in the elite fitting system. I know my shoe preference(s) and was appalled when I was refused service. I was prepared to spend $300 on two pairs of shoes. I remain a value customer of Runner's Den and REI. read more

Poor service. Took very long to get a fit expert and then once we did get one , she had to step away for her lunch break but we didn't meet her replacement although she said they will meet us. Emily was on the spot and met me at the shoe wall as soon as I cam in. greeted me an offered her assistance. gave me some time came back and checked on any questions, I asked for 5 different shoes to try and within minutes had them all. checked with me every little while and answered a few questions. I picked pair and off I went, seamless visit, friendly, helpful and not overbearing. the end of year sales were inviting. i would have liked a bit more color variety in stock. good job Emily. read more

Buyer beware, I purchased some socks here 11 months ago and I was signed up, undisclosed to me, for a annual 49.99 club fee, without my authorization which hit my credit card. We had a great experience here recently. The staff is extremely helpful and knowledgeable. They went very in-depth of the foot analysis and offered lots of options with information on each. I visited this next to wholefood store because of all the great reviews and TV ads saying they could help correct walking or running issues. Unfortunately, my experience was disappointing. The salesperson didn't give much advice -- he just inserted the shoe insoles and then quickly brought out a bunch of shoes without explaining how to choose the right pair or what would best fit my needs. His focus seemed more on watching the front door and trying to grab the next customer than on helping me. I understand sales commissions might be important, but I noticed other customers receiving much more attentive service while I was rushed through in-and-out with three customers at once. I still ended up buying a pair of shoes for over $300, but honestly, it felt no different from shopping at REI or a big sporting goods store. I came here for expert advice and personalized service -- not just another shoe sale. Unfortunately, I didn't get that. I don't recommend this location and won't be coming back. read more

There's so many people here working, yet there are people waiting for service to try on shoes. Every time I come in here I'm disappointed by the way they operate. You need to have a lot of time to sit and wait for someone to come and give you the shoes. I'm watching one of the workers put things away while I'm sitting here waiting for service along with others. It's so unacceptable. I just want to try on shoes and go. read more

I visited the store to buy my girlfriend a pair of new OC. Was told it would be an hour and to sign in. She knew exactly what she wanted, including size. One of the staff members was kind enough to pull the shoes and check us out without the wait. All good, right? Fast forward three days later. I got a fraud alert on my American Express card. The charge amount was $49.99. That happens to be the same amount Road Runner charges for their membership cost. I didn't sign up or consent to anything. I wasn't asked to sign up, I wasn't told I'd be signed up. Deceptive is an understatement. This place is absolute trash and I'll not be returning. read more

DO NOT GO HERE. Extremely deceptive buisness practices, they sign you up for their "VIP service" without your knowledge. Very predatory.

This isn't a bad store really and have always been happy with my purchases. I a giving this 3 stars because of how long it takes somebody to wait on you. It shouldn't take 45 minutes to try on a pair of shoes. I understand what's involved with being fitted for running shoes ......but really? Hire some more people already. I was here early Friday afternoon. Either hire more people or figure out a way to be more efficient read more

Completely disorganized and poorly run. Even when not busy expect to wait a minimum of 45 minutes to get any help. I purchased a pair of Brooks running shoes from a pop up HS track meet. The sole separated from the shoe in less that 100 miles of running and under 90 days. I took care of the shoes well. I went to the store a week ago to return a pair of shoes ( never worn) They were a half size too large and I just needed a size down. There were approximately six people in the store, with maybe four employees. Once I got on the list to be seen, it took 45 minutes to get the shoe returned while the return was getting made, I was recharged the $10 shipping fee which I really don't think is fair for a $250 shoe. Customer service was terrible as was the wait. Just not happy with that place anymore and may need to look somewhere else. The selection is always limited and the value I believe is quite high. Wow! I've never been walked away from and ignored in a store before. I guess there is always a first. First, let me explain why I have not been a member for quite some time. I honestly do not find any benefit in it. I have been a VIP member in the past when I used to buy my kids shoes. I've done the whole member routine. I've purchased insoles with the foot finder treadmill. But now, I only purchase two pairs of running sneakers a year. I run 16 miles weekly, and my shoes have lasted six months. There is no benefit from the 10% discount offered by purchasing a $49.95 membership. Today, I was treated differently. The first thing the gentlemen asked me was if I was a VIP member. I told him I was not. I told him I was interested in trying the Ghost Max 2. I had never worn Brooks before and was interested in the teal color. Well, I guess they do not stock all the colors. He proceeded to tell me that if I joined the VIP club, I could have my shoes delivered in four days. I told him I wasn't interested in that, and I could order them online, have them delivered for free shipping in four days, and not spend an extra $49.95 if I did not like the gray they had in stock. He said, "Let's get you checked in, and somebody will help you." He walked away from me. Two other employees were putting shoes away when two others walked into the store. The employee who checked me in proceeded to help the woman, and one of the other employees helped the gentleman, and I was left ignored. As I sat there watching them help these different people, I put my shoes back on and walked out. So I think you're not vital to them if you aren't paying the VIP fee. It is a scam, and people want to wonder why so many brick-and-mortar stores are going out of business. People are more likely to purchase things online because customer appreciation and satisfaction no longer exists in this world. The sad reality is they do not realize that without the customer coming into the store, there will be no store. Maybe, I'm off base. I was polite and truthful. I did not disrespect him in anyway. At first, I thought perhaps I was having a bad day, but I felt ignored and punished for not being a VIP. I was with my husband and he didn't think it was right the way I was treated. So it wasn't me I asked him? He said no, lets go. I will never step foot in the store again. I will go to Sole Sports or Runners Den. To be fair no one keeps the teal in stock. But I did receive free 2-day express shipping from Brooks.com read more

Such a scam, thy recommend shoes that are very cushioned which my PT said were not right because they cradle your feet as opposed to allowing your feet to gain strength. The worst business model ever. You cant just walk in and buy shoes you have to put your name in to see and salesperson. The guy says 20 minutes! The person in front of me had been waiting 40 and the store had 6 customers! No one ever gets back to you. Meanwhile some idiotic loud chip sound goes off in the store every 30 seconds. Road Runner Sports does this too often. On March 1st, Saucony Endorphin Elite 2 was released. Road Runner Sports offered in 2 different color ways, one being Citron/Black. They took my order and now I am told the Citron/Black color is "backordered". If you look on their website now, they do not even offer that color now. So what gives Road Runner Sports? I was in Dick's Sporting Goods knowing exactly what type of shoe I wanted. Most of the time the person working the shoe section was in the back and not available so I eventually just left after 20 minutes. The next day I went to Road Runner Sports in Scottsdale. They quickly assigned me Emily to help me find the shoes I need. I told her my issue and she picked several possible shoes. I've now had two positive experiences here in the past year. Both times there was a wait, but once I was assisted the associate was knowledgeable, helpful, and came out with shoes that were relevant to my needs. They weren't overly pushy with certain brands, or with joining their membership program. Overall - helpful, knowledgeable service and happy with the running shoes I've purchased. Will return. read more

Poor experience. Took my wife in to try on 2 pairs of shoes, knew exactly which ones and size. Put name on list, waited 15-20 minutes, no interaction from staff.
