Our family of 6 was displaced from our home for 5 months while we battled Chris and his insurance to cover the loss/damages and ALE. The workmanship fell below expectations, and several issues were either overlooked or poorly addressed. When we called about active water intrusion, they failed to act, and water leaked into our home for over 9 hours, causing significant damage. Even more frustrating, their insurance coverage fell short due to a workmanship exclusion, which resulted in our claim being denied and left us with substantial out-of-pocket expenses. (They are not covered to leave your roof 'open' after work begins) Communication was inconsistent, and accountability was lacking throughout the process. I would strongly recommend doing thorough research and asking detailed questions before choosing this company.

Our home has it's original metal roof and over the years it has had multiple layers of snow coat roofing. I have patched it with seam-sealer, scraped and maintained it but over the years the weight of the snow had stretched the metal so that rainwater was collecting in pools and I had struggled with leaks continually. Handling this had become particularly difficult with my physical disabilities. Back in 2018 I reached out to several different roofing companies to get bids and they were ALL off the chart expensive. Cascade Roofing was actually recommended by several of the other roofing companies. Cascade Roofing's bid was actually "reasonable" compared to the others but even so, it was still more than I could really afford. I saved what I could and contacted Rick Steiner at Cascade Roofing and when he heard about my situation, he said that he would do what he could to help out. His team worked together very quickly to install an entirely NEW roof on my home and he even gave me a veteran discount that placed the end cost significantly below his bid! I was so thankful. I told him I would leave him an amazing review on yelp, but I didn't! The thing is... ...I've been living in this rainy area for so long with a leaky roof, I was honestly afraid that it was just a matter of time before the water started dripping here or there and I honestly didn't want to get my hopes up! I felt like leaving a positive review on a roof that hadn't been tested, couldn't possibly be considered "fair" and "honest". So, over the past 5 years have been checking everywhere with moisture sensors... NOTHING! NO LEAKS!!! After 5 years I can honestly leave this review now and say: CASCADE ROOFING IS THE ROOFING COMPANY TO HIRE FOR ALL OF YOUR ROOFING NEEDS!! These people are amazing, thoughtful, kind, and the quality of their work has stood the test of time! When it used to rain, I would get sick and stress as I'd listen quietly for the inside "drip" sound. I was worried that I would have to go out into the torrential rain, fumble out the ladder and try not to slip and fall as I'd carry a bucket of patch-seal to slop some of the chemical wherever I thought it might be leaking. Now when it rains... I smile. I still don't sleep great (because of my military issues) but when I do sleep, I don't have dreams of my roof falling down on me and my daughter in a mess of dripping beams and papier-mâché. You know how some companies are so good that you hesitate to post how great they really are because…read moreyou don't want them to get 'too busy' kind of in a selfish way? These guys are that good! I had the chance to work with Snohomish Handyman (Pete and Mark) for three different projects. Project 1-this was our "get to know you" project. I had taken our cedar sauna apart as part of a home project, and had gingerly taken the cedar bits out so that the sauna could be rebuilt. Well, Pete and Mark didn't just put our sauna back together. It was craftsmanship at its best. One would never know that it had ever been taken apart. They even assisted with a design feature improving on my suggestion(s). Project 2-so after our great success with Project 1 I asked Pete if he would help with a list of 'things' that needed doing around our house. Some of these were basic like repairing sink stoppers, installing doorknobs, etc. The biggest of Project 2 was to rebuild our garbage slide in the kitchen which required the mechanical part to be removed from the cabinetry, a new platform built to support the sliding mechanism, and then reinstalling of the mechanism on the new support piece. When Pete did the reinstall, he made several significant improvements that improve things overall. Project 3-Pete and Mark successfully replaced several pieces of fascia on our 30-year-old Lindal solid cedar home, that over the years had started to degrade at the ends. (I think many homeowners are familiar with this phenomenon.) Pete was able to successfully source the necessary high-grade cedar in a very difficult market (pricing, yikes!). They stained the cedar prior to its installation, which meant at least two days of curing. They then installed the fascia board and edging in the areas to be replaced. But they didn't stop there. Pete and Mark custom crafted copper coverage for each piece they replaced. This repair was executed with diligence and expertise, and was beyond the scope of many other crafts people I've spoken with. Note the breadth of the work they completed our residence? They executed repairs of the simple stuff with the same degree of care and attention to detail as they did all the big stuff. They have a broad range of capabilities and expertise and are friendly and easy to work with. I found their pricing model straightforward. So, what's the best part? These are honest, trustworthy, hard-working folks who really want to do a good job for you! So let's keep them busy... But remember, not too busy as we still have a bunch of projects that need completing :-)

We asked Pete for help designing and building a modern looking hogwire fence to replace an old…read morepost-on-pipe decorative fence that was installed on top of a short concrete wall. I was really hoping to avoid damaging the concrete, and Pete came up with a great solution to leave the existing pipe imbedded in the wall, remove the post only, and buy posts that had the core drilled out to put back on to the pipe. This alone saved a considerable amount of time and money in my project and more than paid for his services! Further, he took my really rough drawings and helped improve the design to make it stronger, and had all the expertise to execute the build to a high standard! In the end, I ended up with a fence that looked WAY better than I ever dreamed! I can't recommend Pete enough: he produced excellent work, was willing to teach me (and my curious kiddos!), and was one of the most professional and nicest handymen I've ever hired. I certainly won't hesitate to call him for any other projects that I have coming up.

Being military, with a crazy schedule, and then due to the $$$ we never finalized repair. Intimidated by committing to a contractor due to money and then not having the time to do research just made this an ongoing issue. Every rainy season, water would come in, creating some significant damage. Finally, round 5 here we go...I randomly decided to pursue this again, with absolutely no hope that anything would materialize. Within 7 days of contacting James at ACME, issue is 100000% resolved. Cost? 1/8th of what others were quoting, the issue? Not complicated he made it seem simple. He responded to my inquiry SO quickly, so efficiently. He made the time to go out to the home immediately for an inspection and when I asked him when he planned on going out, he said he already completed majority of the work and just needed to go in for some final touches. It's beyond quality of work or work ethic, it's beyond an honest contractor who quoted a price that I could not refuse and with a keen eye inspected other issues that needed to be addressed, it's beyond all that. It's about finding someone that respects your time. I am only in the US for a few more days, and I expressed to him that before I left we could even get to the point of him making an appt. with my tenants and going out to the home, I would be so happy. (Most contractors in the area would either cancel their appt, or provide too long of a lead time- weeks). He completed the job before I thought possible, beyond expectations, for that I am SO grateful. Being active duty- it's always important to find someone that is trust worthy, reliable, self-motivated, and values your time. I will certainly be a return customer.
