One of our bathroom doors was installed prior to new carpeting being laid down. The height of the carpet made shutting the door a problem and it it sustained damage. Chase was the only business that offered to fix the door without replacing it, which saved us hundreds of dollars. Chase was punctual and completed the work in the exact amount of time he quoted. We requested for help with a few things: - Filling a hole in a door : this was done well - Fixing a wardrobe door + beam that had fallen out : fell out the next day after them fixing it and we ended up re doing it ourselves. - Fixing some squeaky floor boards : they said they can't do anything about it AFTER coming home and don't work on floors. I had clearly stated my asks when I requested for their service so I was very disappointed to hear this. Had they told me before hand, I'd probably have not got the appointment at all since we could have solved the first 2 issues our selves with some patience. Also, they said 2 people would be coming over and I figured they would both work independently since the projects were so minor. But they just huddled in the same corner for the entire duration, ultimately taking longer than I expected them to finish. I paid them in full. But I'm dissatisfied with the service. read more

They did an excellent job for us. We had a problem with a kitchen linoleum that had come up. They were able to re-lay it with double sided tape. Chase did an excellent job. He also cleaned up after he was done with a vacuum. Taylor also removed a falling down privacy fence in our back yard. They both worked extremely hard to get the cement out that was used to secure the posts in the ground. They cleaned up the area before they left. I will definitely call them again! read more

Overly Priced. Unprofessional - showed up to the job in a huge truck but none of the basic materials they required to do the job. Waited for them to drive around to get the materials they already knew they needed, on my dime! Work was done improperly - and when i called them on it, they said they'd make a 'work request' but it could take weeks... its been months they never returned... At first, Mark seemed to be the ideal handyman; courteous, flexible and talented. Then came Covid-19 and its aftermath. Suddenly, he became unreachable, and claimed that he was booked solid for the foreseeable future. Still, he offered us the services of an Electrician, who not only failed to show up for his appointment, but didn't bother to call and reschedule. When questioned, Mark had no explanation for this irresponsible behavior, other than to claim that the appointment was never made (which it certainly was, for I was present during the phone call). Worse, he stated that he was booked up for the next six weeks, and when I called to follow up on this, he then told me that he was in a meeting, and promised to call me back. This never happened. Somehow, we had failed to meet whatever unspoken criteria that he judges his customers by, and by necessity, we sought out someone else. If you want things fixed, take your money elsewhere. Life is simply too short for such unstable and unpredictable flakes like him, talented or not. read more

I am so extremely pleased with the work that Mark and his team at Handymax performed. He very clearly communicated time frames and expectations up front, came out to the house to review the projects ahead of time, did such a great job completing all the projects I requested, and charged very reasonable prices. He and his team installed two GFCI outlets, patched a hole in the ceiling, replaced an older range hood with a newer (and very heavy one), and made our side yard usable again by moving back fence panels, adding a gate, and installing an amazing set of stairs with two platforms. I highly recommend Handymax. No job to small (how to open overhead light fixture so I can change a light bulb) or too large (110 sq ft raised garden bed around back yard patio - 14 6" x 12" x 12 ft fir timbers involved - laser set-up to insure level, square, and plumb installation). Always prompt (will even wait patiently until I make an appearance if he and apprentices are 10 or 15 minutes early).
