Started by spending 10+ minutes on the phone (my choice) to talk to someone to figure out the process and steps needed to be taken. Got what I needed to be done real quick online and then made my way here to finish the process. 10:30am Monday morning I figured it would busy and I was correct. Stood behind someone line who had bad body odor, so please do yourself a solid and clean up before you come. Line was all the way to the door, maybe took 25 minutes to get to the counter and another 3 minutes to cancel the plates. Overall I was pleased with the service and my experience. The security guard and lady directing people where to go could have been more pleasant when I walked out after thanking them and wishing them a good day.

I arrived early and the waiting room was already filled. They are clearly understaffed. My appointment took two hours. All I was doing was changing from a MA license to a CT license. The documentation required was insane. I had multiple ID cards. A MA license which was a Real ID. Military ID, also a Real ID. SSN card. Insurance cards. Birth certificate and marriage licenses. They still rejected them because there is a one letter difference on my birth certificate than all my other ID's. I have not used the spelling of my name on my birth cert in over 40 years and it has never been a problem. The staff was rude. I provided a plethora of proof of residency and they rejected nearly all of them. Proof of insurance with address and name on it is not good enough. Has to be insurance declaration page or the insurance ID card. WTF?! Its all the same! I provided mail with my name on it from a business. The actual documents where I bought my house. A letter from my bank with my name and address on it. Had to visit three different windows (their standard practice) and make two different payments (also their standard practice) in order to get a CT license. If I am switching from a state, especially a state that was literally a 5 minute drive away, that has a Real ID, to a CT Real ID, my identification should already be verified. This is insanity at its best. Avoid this DMV at all costs!!!

He asked if I had my license, of course. Then gave me a ticket for standing in line. I was in and out in under 10 minutes. I love this registry for the speed and the fact that most of the people here are fabulous. I also found out a few weeks ago that I had been over paying for this trailer because it was listed at the incorrect weight. I thought I'd have to go through all kinds of hoops to get it fixed. Website says drop off registrations have a faster turn around and as this was closest to my location, I dropped off the needed forms on Friday. A week goes by and I hear NOTHING back. I called, was on hold for an hour and then told to email them. I emailed them, they requested my info, sent it over and then heard nothing back. Now a week and a half has gone by. Called again. Hold for two hours. Told to go to the location. Once there I was told I missed a form and that they tried to call me the same day as drop off (checked call log and had no missed calls from them, also they had my email on my file but didn't inform me at all of a missing form). Brought back the needed form. Waited another two days and finally got a confirmation, only to be told on arrival that I need to bring in ANOTHER FORM (which the email I received does not mention). A WASTE OF TIME. I understand infrastructure is struggling with the pandemic but we're a year in. While the RMV seemed outdated before, this is just a disgrace.
