Visiting family and gravesites - fresh from…read moreCalifornia for six years, I stayed at the Hampton Inn in Windsor on Poquonock Ave. I slipped in fell in the pool area in a sea of of water outside of the pool on the platform. I have never seen such a mess. The officer who responded first said :"what do you expect in a pool". I said, I have owned pools and stayed in hotels around the world never such a mess. The pool is filthy, staff lazy, and should have mopped up pool area. Instead, I slipped, fell and hurt myself. The EMT's came and desired a disclosure to be signed without seeing what they would write. This is diametrically different than Massachusetts and California where you sign for what happened albeit there are disclosures. I was told "that's not the way it works." In general, the police were unhelpful. The guy (black colored skin) who showed up was uninterested in seeing the condition of the pool. Instead, he chatted up the insipidly incompetent front desk person and I would say this officer is also insipidly incompetent. Windsor is my hometown. My uncle was a detective with the police force. It isn't the way things should be done. Education. I suggest remedial reading and general education enforced instead of laziness and apathy. I have no respect for the Windsor Police Force today nor do I have respect for the EMTs today. The guy at the front desk could be heard saying to the maintenance guy as the cop approached "better start mopping the pool area" but the cop never even looked. Shame on the cop, shame on the Windsor Police Department and shame especially on Thomas LaPore for leading such a bad group of officers and EMTs. Who the heck is going to sign a disclosure without reading what is being written? It is probably illegal.

Being an avid reader, I regularly visit this particular branch of the Springfield library system because of how close it is to my home as well as the ample amount of parking spaces available out in front, so I never had trouble finding a parking spot. Furthermore, the staff at the East Forest Park Branch is VERY friendly and is willing to help me with whatever I need. I remember I could not find a particular book and one of the librarian asked if I had registered my card within the system online. She proceeded to help me and explained that by doing so, I would be able to find what I was looking for in addition to creating a list of books I wish to read in the future. She continued to go over the features of the online platform with me and told me that I would be able to request books from any library within the C/W MARS system and have them delivered to the East Forest Park Branch for me to pick up later within the next week. The staff also gave me friendly reminders via text or phone call when my material arrived, which is kinda nice. Despite this convenient feature, I often find myself requesting books from my home often because of the limited selection of books available at this branch. In addition to the obvious books that are available, the library is a treasure trove of resources! They have workshops, events, and book clubs throughout the school year to encourage reading within young people. They even have a summer reading program when the school year is over!

I've been a patron of this library since 2011, when I was briefly employed in this town. The environment is calm and peaceful, with sealed glass group activity rooms for which to carry on without distraction to patrons. The restrooms are male - female separated by 30 feet, well ventilated, paper supplied and clean. The computing stations are powered by up to date Dell Inspiron small computing networked hardware. Wifi is sluggish though rated at gigabit speed, with average password security; however, the hardline backbone network is fast with very little downtime. Printer services are expensive and require mild technical expertise and paper stock is not premium either. Parking is adequate with an allowable overflow into the adjacent strip mall. What a great library!…read more It's a newer building, modern architecture and very flowing. They've got a peaceful adult reading room upstairs and quite a few computers. The location of the library is great too- right in East Longmeadow center. There's a Starbucks right in the plaza Their children's room and programs are WONDERFUL. Miss Jennie and the other librarians are so helpful and creative! They've got tons of holiday programs, the summer reading program, and always are involved in the community. Gosh, I love this town. The building is a little off the road with a tiny little sign outside of it. Just look for the big white beautiful building. There is adequate parking. As you walk into the building, there is a video and book drop off on your left. As you walk in the first set of door, there's a box top drop on your right. Great way to donate those things! The lady at the front desk was extremely nice and helpful. We were able to sign up for his first library card. Since he's not old enough to sign, the card was made under my account. You just need proof of residency. There are so many things to do here. There is a program for everyday of the month where there are events based on the age of your child. The building has two floors with a stair and elevator access. There are numerous comfortable chairs, gerbils to watch, fish in tanks, lots of computers and super quiet areas to study. The decor and building are absolutely beautiful. The most beautiful library I have ever seen. Looking forward to being an active member in this community and bringing out son to the different events. Currently, there are approximately 24,000 people living there. Simsbury is part of the Farmington Valley. There are three state parks; Penwood, Talcott Mountain, and Stratton Brook. The famous landmark, Heublein Tower can be seen from a distance in various parts of the state. The Pinchot Sycamore is the largest tree in Connecticut, which is located in Simsbury. The International Skating Center is also located there; many well-known ice skaters trained there. The town is very beautiful and nicely maintained; houses are beautiful. There are many things to do. There is a town center, hiking trails, libraries, playgrounds, and restaurants. The school system is highly rated and crime rates are low. I really enjoy exploring the town and I'm there quite often. Overall, an A+ town all around.

It's kind of rural meets Suburban. High class yet down to earth. 3.) Schools: A town of very nice elementary, middle, high schools and private schools. Your child is going to get a good education here. 4.) Citizens: Contrary to belief, Simsbury is not like that next town over. These people are a generally down to earth bunch. I describe these people as working middle class citizens. Yes, there are people who make money here, but that's just a slight deviation towards lower and upper class. 5.) Residences: Just like I said about Socio-economic status, you can find all types of housing here. From tiny startup homes to apartments to condominiums to McMansions, you can find it all! I recall when I was first looking for apartments I was able to find one on Hopmeadow Road for $700 a month. That was back in 2007! 6.) Town - statistics: To be honest, the statistics are that 90% of the citizens have college degrees and make an annual income of $90,000. That percentage also ties in with the literacy rate, as well as the likelihood that a high school graduate will go onto a 4 year college. 7.) Impressions: After I earn my ultimate degree, settle on a job, finish being young, partying and having fun, I am moving back here!

I love that natural light was a factor in all of their rooms. There's so much to the collection for every reader. They have Carnegie Room and it's what you would love for a relaxing living room and pretty much letting a good book take you away. They have a children's area and a large open space.
