Just going to say this is the business you're going to want to work with! I had a last-minute request about 30 minutes before they closed and Mike was more than accommodating to get my job done. Even though it was a small order, he took the time to fix my DXF & run multiple test cuts before cutting into my material to just made sure that my end product was exactly what I wanted. There's a lot of other places that wouldn't of taken the time to edit my splines that didn't transfer over and fix them to makes sure it cut the way I intended. He was also very conscious of the material I was using and made sure to really maximize the number of units I got out and wasted very little material. WORST ENGRAVING EXPERIENCE EVER!! Stay away from this vendor if you value your time and money. RMS Laser ignored their own proofing process and mass engraved our gifts without approval. As bad as that was, they then refused to reimburse the cost of new gifts to replace the ones they ruined. To add further insult to injury, the manager I spoke with went on vacation after ruining the job I entrusted to them. Now I'm stuck trying to retrieve the replacement cost through small claims, Save yourself the headache: DON'T GIVE YOUR BUSINESS TO RMS LASER. read more

Had a couple of things cut there a while back and was not happy with the results. Horrible communication and conflicting scheduling. They told me it would take 4 days to get my stuff done, but I literally would call, and email to see if my parts were done a week later. No calls back ever. I felt as if they didn't give a crap about my stuff getting done in time. They took two and a half weeks to get this simple job done. For the price your paying, you'd figure your getting top notch service and fabrication. But it was the complete opposite. RMS laser does not make the cut.......literally. read more

This update is in response to the RMS Laser's owner's comment about how I treated them rudely and didn't want to pay for the project, but do a video instead. I just went into my inbox and pulled up every single email between me and RMS Laser just to make sure I wasn't in the wrong here. Upon review of all the email conversations between me and their employee Jake, I found that it was actually Jake who initiated the idea of trading laser service for a video...not me. I was 100% happy with the original price Jake had quoted me for the laser cutting service and was willing to pay that price from the get-go. I have the emails to prove it. With regard to the appointment and cancellation and my multiple attempts to set up the appointment, RMS Laser NEVER confirmed that we actually had an appointment, so why would I just assume it was confirmed? I lived in Vista at the time....I wasn't about to drive all the way over to El Cajon just to find out I didn't have an official appointment! Anyway, after numerous attempts to schedule my appointment by email and by phone with no luck, of course I was upset but I wasn't rude. I thought they were interested in my project but their lack of follow-up made me feel like they weren't interested in such a small scale project. Finally after almost 2 months of not hearing from anybody at RMS Laser, Mary emails me and tells me they had me scheduled but I "never bothered to show up or even call to cancel the appointment." As far as I knew, there wasn't even an appointment TO cancel! I responded and asked why Jake wasn't responding but then I never heard back from her. HERE'S HOW THIS COULD HAVE GONE BETTER..... I think if Mary or somebody else at RMS Laser would have simply contacted me and said something like "we're so sorry for the poor communication. Jake is no longer with the company and it's taken us a while to get his accounts and appointments straightened out" then I think this whole stupid thing could have been avoided. It's sad that RMS Laser is now trying to point the finger at me, as if I'm the one to blame for all this. I know this is only Yelp, and whatever I have to say really doesn't matter too much, especially when this whole situation is so petty, but I have all the emails in a text document and it's pretty cool to re-read them and see how right I am, and how wrong RMS laser is. I'll stick with my 1-star rating for RMS Laser. read more

I asked Michael to make name tags for our car club. I was very picky because I wanted our logo on each tag as well as the person's name and "handle". When we received our name tags, we were thrilled. They were perfect and beyond our expectations. I would recommend them to anyone looking for personalized work. read more

Every year our Yacht Club would use the same boring coffee mugs or certificates as gifts of appreciation. We contacted RMS and asked if they could create some unique appreciation gifts. RMS Laser exceeded our expecations, they were creative, easy to work with and anticipated our needs, all you can ask from a company. As a bonus, when we supplied the names that RMS Laser would etch into the products they designed, we gave them an incorrect spelling, when we went back to have it corrected, we offered to pay for the error since it was clearly our fault, RMS would not take our money, explained to us that errors happen and they replaced the gift at thier expense. Wow, I had a great experience at RMS. I work in the graphic design industry and brought them a time sensitive project. Their service was amazing. They sat down with me, gave me an affordable quote and offered me alternative solutions to enhance the outcome of my project. They cut a sample out of my material while I waited, to assure my satisfaction and then delivered my product in a day, when other laser cutters quoted a 1-2 weeks. Had a good experience. Needed ~60 circles cut out of 1/16" abs, got next day service. Accurate to 0.001". My measurement was wrong, so I had a new batch cut and got next day service again. Price was competitive. Quick service and good communication. I'd definitely use RMS Laser again. read more

I have done numerous jobs with them and they always surpass my expectation both on turnaround as well as quality. They are always quick to respond and never miss deadlines, even ones that would be considered unrealistic. I would recommend them to any person or business. We have been working with RMS Laser since 2012, starting-out small/very slowly and have since spent 10's of thousands of dollars with them with no issues or complaints over many orders. They have very creatively helped us to develop new products by assistance with polymer material selections, cutting process (CNC laser and CNC routing) and assembly techniques. They are also very focused on quality and always deliver to our very high standards without balking. Our projects have ranged from short prototype runs to full blown production of thousands of components that have been shipped and deployed all over North America in the energy industry. There is no way we could have launched our products without them. It is odd to see the two negative reviews. If RMS were not on top of their game, they would not be almost constantly booked. On the other side of the coin, when a company is thriving and is very, very busy as ours and theirs are, an occasional bump in the road can happen, but these guys always stand behind their work and make good and they have long fuses with our mistakes too. Despite being so busy they have always remained flexible and work hard to accommodate our emergency orders and have saved our bacon many times. We feel quite at home with them.... read more
