The owner is eager to help and takes great pride in the product served. Good variety of hot sandwiches. And several salads for the vegetable lover. It was alright. I know a lot of locals rave about this place. I've eaten here twice and walked away indifferent both times. I know inflation is a thing and small businesses bust tail to survive, the menu pricing could be scaled down some for the quality of food being served. Walked in at noon on a Friday. Only two people in the place. They said things were good so we stayed. Young man at the counter was a bit timid and didn't quite get our three orders correct, close, but not quite right. (We ordered two tater tots and an onion rings. We got one tater tot and two fries. Oh well.) The food was great. We had a Fluffy Burger - a hamburger with bacon, grilled onions and mushrooms between two grilled cheese sandwiches! We had a single cheese burger made with lots of blue cheese. And we had a Cubano sandwich. (Already mentioned the sides) We did opt to get the onion rings after all and they were really good too. Everything was fresh off the grill, hot and tasty. The place is clean and well laid out. It has seating for around 30 inside. On a surprised me note: right after we got our food they locked the front door and turned their sign to closed. They explained that they had a large pick up order to prepare so they were closing for 45 min to an hour. They didn't push us out, just asked us to let them know when we were leaving. Interesting. WE FOUND IT!! This is the closest MONTE CRISTO sandwich you will find to Disneyland outside the park gates! It is so crispy, cheesy and the jam and powdered sugar round it out with the best touch of sweetness. We were in heaven! Being HUGE Disney goers finding a good Monte has become a personal mission (cause let's be honest your crave them regularly). Thanks to RJ Grill we can get our fix in between trips! I stopped here with my family after a long day at Lagoon. We wanted to eat somewhere local that we don't have down south, since we don't make it up this far north very often. I had heard good things about RJ Grill on the local restaurant reviews Facebook page, and with good reviews on Yelp as well, I figured it had to be good. I really wanted to like this place. I understand that it is a newly opened restaurant, and with the pandemic, standards shouldn't be too high. I like to think I am pretty reasonable with my expectations, so it sucks to be so disappointed. The menu looked good, the prices were fair, but the food just wasn't there, and the overall experience fell flat. I ordered the Fluffy Burger- a burger with two grilled cheeses as the buns, and a side of regular fries. My wife got the turkey avocado sandwich, and my kids got plain burgers. I had hoped to try out the onion rings, but they were out. I ordered a drink, only to find out that most of the soda fountain was empty. The owner (I think) gave me a canned drink from the fridge instead. We get seated at our table, and I start looking for a kid's seat, and they only have one, which is already in use. So, not a great start to the meal. But that's by no means a deal breaker. Crap happens, and you gotta roll with it. But, then our food comes out. My burger was actually not too bad. but the fries were undercooked and soft. My wife's turkey sandwich was very sad looking. The thin pieces of white bread holding it together were smashed really thin, and there was only a tiny bit of avocado. Honestly, it would be a lot easier, and probably cheaper, to just make the same thing at home. I feel that when you go out, you want to eat something that you either can't make as well, or can't make it as cheaply, considering all of the ingredients. This was just disappointing. The sandwich was supposed to come with waffle fries, but instead came with the undercooked regular fries. I pointed it out to the owner, but nothing came of it. The kids' food was okay, but not great. we all left unsatisfied, and ended up eating the leftover snacks from Lagoon on the way home. It may have just been an off day or something, which happens, but I don't think we'll chance it again. read more
