I will start with the good: We asked Danny to build a custom vanity for our bathroom. It came out…read moreextremely well and we are very happy with it. The drawer and door hardware is great quality. We wanted a solid surface countertop and HC had a wide variety of manufacturers and colors available. The price was very competitive and actually less than the kitchen showrooms selling semi-prefab cabinets. So why only four stars? Here are the things to know when working with Danny. - He is a cabinet maker and not an English language communicator. Expect your correspondence with him to be strained at best. If you rely on email, as we do, it gets considerably worse. - You will have to hound him relentlessly to get your requests incorporated. His idea of "shop drawings" is pretty laughable. I had to keep sending him my own drawings, which sort of worked, except: - Here are some of the things that didn't get done correctly: Edge banding on exposed edges was not consistently vertical as requested (he even specifically asked this question via email, received an answer and then ignored it); legs were not correctly located away from corners; countertop surface has minor flaws (not sure if this is the fault of the cabinetmaker or the solid surface supplier so no points off for this); I think the gap between the front drawer/door panels and the countertop could have been a bit narrower; cutouts in top drawers were unnecessarily large for the lav bowls we chose, resulting in a considerable loss of usable space. (We actually are considering taking the drawers back to Danny for rework at our expense on this last item, but if it had been shown on a shop drawing we might have caught it.) - The installers showed up an hour and a half late and took a lot longer than planned, which ruined a work day for me. In addition, they neglected to provide cutouts for the waste pipe at the lower drawers, resulting in two return trips (because the first attempt failed when they made the cuts the same dimension when the waste pipes weren't). Danny knocked a little off the price for this, which we appreciated as we were getting a little testy by that point. Bottom line is we got almost exactly the cabinet we wanted at an affordable price, and my wife says the rest is just nit picking :-) But know that you will have to be actively involved in the work to get a good result.

I bought a set of kitchen cabinets from HC in 2014. They worked well and looked nice and the price…read morewas competitive. Flash forward to 2020: The paint and veneer of the front panels of most of the cabinets and drawers had peeled off and looked terrible. I reached out to Danny and he blamed me for the damage, saying that it was because the overhang on my countertops was not big enough to prevent moisture from leaking on them. But that does not make any sense because the veneer is peeling off even in places far below the countertops. His quoted price to replace the damaged area: $1,685 I own another house where the kitchen cabinets were installed decades ago and still look great. If you want cabinets that last and a company that will stand behind their work, I would suggest you look elsewhere.

I'm surprised at the reviews here. We've worked with them on our project for several years, and…read morehave not had a good experience with them. 4 years after we started working with them, we are still missing shelves and doors. There are several finish issues, and while they've endeavored to address this, the doors continue to have a different finish and blemishes. They didn't protect the floor in the last few visits, and their ladders scarred our flooring. They also did not adjust the doors to line up, leaving us with uneven spacing, bulging centers, and misaligned bottoms. The worst problem is the communication. It takes months of attempting to reach them via email, voicemail, and phone calls to get a single response, with several months between visits to get any progress. For example, our last visit was at the beginning of April. It's currently the end of July, and we've been unable to reach them this entire time. Their prices are very expensive, and we expected a higher standard commensurate with the price that we did not receive. We would vastly prefer to work this matter privately and not have to resort to reviews, or if matters persevere, taking more severe actions, but not sure what to do at this juncture.

Hyrie has a large selection of hardwood, many moons of experience, a warm personality and a practical approach. E.g. he was the only supplier who dragged my samples to a sunny area for inspection in his showroom. Also, he under-promised and over delivered on the time budget by several days! Early construction completion....what?! I had five different contractors look at my hard wood project. Hyrie was by far the most professional and trust inspiring of the lot. He appraised the job the day I requested it and had a clearly written turn-key bid in my email box that night. He remained in contact with me throughout, usually being the one to initiate check ins and provided me with his cell phone number which he answers (again...what?). He wasn't the cheapest and he wasn't the very highest but the more I experienced unprofessional customer service from the competition, sanity outweighed price on my priority list and I knew I'd chosen the right guy even before the work began. Things I got from the other guys: unreturned phone calls/emails, failure to provide promised written bid, confusing bid, errors on bid, subcontracting installer poaching attempt, false pretense of knowing legitimate answers to stuff. I'm glad they showed me their true colors so I could run for my life....to Metro Floors!

The reason I've rated them 4 stars instead of 5 is because of their initial unresponsiveness and long delay in providing a quote. When I initially contacted Hayri via Yelp, he called me right away to set up a measuring appointment. Unfortunately, he then forgot to mark our appointment on his calendar, and was over an hour late for our appointment. He was very apologetic, and then promised to provide a quote within 4 days. It took him nearly two weeks to provide the quote, after multiple emails. Hayri ultimately provided an extremely competitive quote, and despite our disappointment with his responsiveness, we rolled the dice because of his price and rave reviews on Yelp. We made a good call. Hayri's team finished our hardwood flooring installation a week ahead of schedule, and overall, it looks great. There was one issue, and he sent one of his employees out to fix it (though it took a couple weeks for him to come). That said, they corrected their error with no pushback and were very polite and professional about the whole thing, which we appreciated. Overall, Metro Floors did good work for us. If you can handle off and on radio silence, and getting a good price for high quality flooring and installation is a priority for you, Hayri is a good choice.
