Three weeks ago, I had my semi-annual exam (because of retina issues), and today I came in again for new contact lenses including exam. As always, the atmosphere in the store is very welcoming, wait time was short, Dr. Keding and all staff members are very friendly. Dr Keding is very thorough and discusses all issues. The selection of new glasses (something I do not like too much) was easy and without stress. Ordered specialty lenses with scratch resistance, and within 2 weeks, the lens got a small spot on the lens coating that required it to be sent back. They also charged me $50 to fix the issue. Glasses were not dropped or put into any situation that should have created the nick in the coating. I would not buy from them again. Save your money and go elsewhere. I have been a patient at Riviera Opticare for many years. Their location is very convenient. It's right off the 101 and Shea in Scottsdale, near Culver's and Starbucks. They have very convenient hours and are even open on Saturdays, which is amazing. Their Covid protocol includes requiring that a mask be worn, getting a temperature check, and requiring an appointment. No walk-in's are allowed at this time. They also do curbside pickup if you are just there to pick up your glasses or contacts. I have seen three of the doctors at Riviera Opticare over the years, and they are all fantastic. I think it's cool that all the doctors in this practice are women. They also have a wonderful staff of opticians to help you find your perfect pair of glasses. read more

Our family of 3 has been going here for years, just discovered Riviera charges $60 retinal imaging and LENSCRAFTER only $15. Would have been nice to know all these years Riviera was choosing to charge higher fees than other eye Providers, we surely would have left years ago, and saved $$. They/Riviera represented to us that since we could NOT do the dialtion eye, that the fee was $60 ,as insurance didnt cover it, NOT ever disclosed the real reason was that Riviera was choosing to charge us the $60 high fee. NO transparentcy with this office Scottsdale/riviera, We have our family now at Lenscrafters Scottsdale Quarter DNA $15 retinal imaging. saves us $45 for each of us. Lencrafters also on the same Rayban frame/lens we had picked at Riviera(told us our cost would be $52 Plus 19for lens) Lenscrafter was $0, we only paid $15 for the frame with Lens. read more

It was recommended to me by a friend at work 3 years ago and my husband and I have been going there for our annual eye check up every year. The team is excellent and the service is great. They have a lot of options in terms of prescription glasses and sun glasses. Most of the brands they carry are covered by my insurance which has been very helpful. The first time I went there, I had accidentally assumed that they booked my appointment in Scottsdale and they also assumed my appointment is in Mesa because I lived there so I showed up for my appointment in Scottsdale and after we figured out what went wrong, they were very flexible and scheduled me on the same day at a later time, something I appreciated very much. I have a fairly complicated vision situation. I have had LASIK surgery and a cataract removed. I have been a patient of several ophthalmologists. None of them proved to be as competent, thorough and dedicated. Dr. Reckall was able with a lot of work to give me better vision than I have experienced in many years. I was fitted with contact lenses, no small feat for a 70 year old. I was given every service necessary to learn how to wear and clean them. If I had a question or a problem, an appointment was only a quick phone call away and was always within a day or two or less. The last time I bought glasses the prescription was slightly under what I really needed. I waited forever to get new Glasses. I couldn't find any I really liked, or even liked a little. Everywhere I went it was the same glasses over and over. I finally decided to get new glasses after 6 yrs of not even being able to wear my old ones, and driving like Mr. Magoo. I went in there and they gave me the most thorough eye exam Ive ever had. It was crazy, I got so many tests and they spent a lot of time matching up the lenses. They literally had the most awesome collection of glasses of anywhere. I had seen all these glasses I havent seen at every other place. They had all the same brands and then some, but they were all the other ones in the collections. They had these really cool colored ones that were like inside out glass technique. My girlfriend along with a narrow body also has a narrow head. Glasses never fit her, they always go passed her face on the sides. This place has ordered the narrow brands and versions that come narrow. Unless you have a narrow head you have no idea how hard that is to find. I am posting some pictures of my glasses. They will also replace your lenses every yr for 30.00 bucks!! read more

I can't speak highly enough about the staff at Riviera Opticare. My wife and I both set appointments for our annual eye exam the day prior to our actual visit. Upon entering the showroom, we were greeted by all of the staff who weren't currently working with other patients...and THEN the receptionist greeted us. The exam itself was a typical eye exam. The doctor was, much like the rest of the staff we had met up to that point, extremely polite. Since my wife and I both had appointments at the same time, the doctor was kind enough to allow my daughter to come into the exam room with me. After the exam, my wife and I were faced with the daunting task of picking out frames. To put this mildly, my wife and I are...let's just say that we're "particular" about our glasses. Colleen was exceptionally patient with each of us, as we sifted through the myriad of frames they had to offer us. Once we finally picked the frames, Colleen was fantastic. She crunched the numbers to determine which option worked the best with our insurance. It's always nice when someone goes out of their way to SAVE you money. Colleen informed us that our glasses would most likely be available within two weeks. Much to our surprise, all three pairs of our glasses (one pair of prescription sunglasses and two regular pairs) were ready in 6 calendar days! Once we came in to pick up our glasses, the fantastic customer service picked up where it left off. To save time, my wife and I each sat with different people to ensure that our glasses were to our liking. My wife sat with Colleen, and I sat with Cami. As I mentioned before, my wife and I tend to be "particular" about our glasses. Both Colleen and Cami were exceptionally patient with us, adjusting our respective glasses accordingly to guarantee that our glasses fit JUST right. All in all, my family couldn't be more pleased with the service we received from Riviera Opticare. I'm so happy I finally found a great eye doctor! I've been going to your generic eye doctors at LensCrafters type stores and they were never that great or thorough but since my eyes haven't changed much over the years I mostly just wanted my updated prescription. I booked by appointment at the LensCrafters in Scottsdale a year in advance and confirmed it a week prior, when I showed up they told me that the appointment I booked was tentative....what?! So I hopped on the EyeMed benefits portal and found Riviera Opticare, the reviews looked good and it's really close to my office so I booked an appointment . They got me in the following day during my lunch break, I showed up early to check in as instructed and they took me early! The woman who did my pre-exam tests was amazing, unfortunately I don't remember her name but she was Indian (so she can get recognition for an amazing customer experience). She was so funny and very thorough, and she chatted with me for a bit. I didn't have to wait too long for Dr. Blaskovich to come in and adjust my prescription, check out the ol' eyeballs and all the other stuff she did. She was great, very personable and I related to her in a lot of ways. Everyone was so nice and I'm happy to say that they have a patient in me for a long time :). read more

We shared some laughs with Adrienne and discussed every aspect of my initial lens placement measurements and every detail of the bill submitted, and anticipated insurance payments. Dr McCutcheon gave very detailed exams and discussed each in detail. There was no rush and the comprehensive exams were executed comfortably and with all expected infection control. I haven't been to an ophthalmologist since elementary school, but recently my eyes have been giving me trouble so I thought it was time that I start taking care of them. I turned to Yelp and came across several recommendation, but finally turned to Riviera Opticare for my needs. When I called to confirm they take my insurance (my insurances website said they did, but we all know those are never updated) and I was pleasantly greeted by Colleen, one of the receptionists. She said they do, but she wanted to triple check and confirm my insurance coverage and looked it up in her own system. She was extremely polite, very helpful, and took her time answering my questions. I never felt rushed and was more than happy to pursue an appointment with the eye doctor here because of my experience with Colleen. Dr. Thakker (only there on Wednesdays) was my ophthalmologist, but I think I spent more time with April the technician due to all the initial testing she was responsible for. Regardless, both were very friendly and attentive. The facility is very clean and the equipment seems to be in top shape. These folks are AMAZING! I was sure I was going blind (I couldn't figure out why everything was peachy colored at night for one eye and murky yucky swamp green colored for the other eye, so I made my way over to Riviera.) What a great team of people, they are so friendly and genuine that I didn't feel my usual eye-doctor discomfort (which is why I always wait to long to get my checkups). So I sat with Dr, Blaskovich (she's a hoot!), opted to get some uber COOL eye pictures taken (yes, my corneas ARE super sexy) instead of fussing with that awful eye drop thing (if you've ever seen a 2 year old have a massive temper tantrum, you MAY get an idea of what happens when eye drops try to get into my eyeballs...it's messy, loud, and at least 2-4 people end up with scratches and bite marks on them)... then I met with an awesome guy who politely and professionally dissuaded me from my usual dreary/severe frames and helped me pick out my new fancy-schmancy BCBG glasses (dude! They have sparkly jewels and Transitions tint...soooooo sharp). Great teamwork! read more
