NO. I do NOT recommend this place anymore! Their communication Is for the birds and do NOT groom your puppy as requested. The picture I gave them to go off of is up on their website. And still didn't groom my pup correct or properly! I WILL be taking my pup elsewhere and give a different groomer my $$ business. I got my pup groomed last week. The groomer either doesn't know what he/she is doing, doesn't know how to groom or just doesn't care or maybe all the above! My pups ears are UNEVEN and look AWFUL! You didn't even trim his head and face area appropriately! You cut way too much off his hair off his body! You left him next to nothing for hair! This visit is my last visit. After 14 years, NO MORE! I've been coming to Riverview Grooming before it was Riverview Grooming. The previous name was Pretty Pups. When I looked up why the name changed, it confirmed why I'm complaining. I've used this groomer three times now. The groomer definitely seems overwhelmed most of the time, she's there by herself. The first two visits were a full groom. The last visit was just a bath. I was happy with the full groom however the bath was disappointing. The dirt that I dropped my pooch off with was still on his face when I picked him up. They did wash his body, as he was still slightly wet. However, I was really expecting him to come back to me squeaky clean. I like the retail area in the store and different accessory options available. One other downside is that you have to be careful what suggestions you say yes to as it will reflect on the bill when you pick up your pet. Not a bad groomer, the facility is clean, the scheduling process is easy but results can vary. read more

Location at 13145 - complete lack of customer service from the worker with the face piercings. I was told to shave my dog because she was tangled, however these tangles were consistently getting worst because they were not drying her properly. I picked up my bishon still wet multiple times and I was being forced to just shave her. The regional manager told me herself that her groomers are not trained enough to comb out a bishon so she did it and while it was better for a week , once I brought her back it started to get matted again since they kept on leaving her wet. By the time I pick her up, matts have already started to form and over time it became worst. Recently, my dog had a medical issue that I was not aware of and did not see any signs of it but I was told my membership would be cancelled because I didn't not take their advice to shave her. I took my pet to the vet that same day and was told this had nothing to do with her hair matting or her not being shaved. I was blamed for a misdiagnosis from the barksud staff ( the worker with the piercings on her face) . The vet I took her to also confirmed that they have heard horror stories from this location. My experience has always been unpleasant with this specific staff member. I have always felt like the information I received from her was delivered in a scolding manner, as though I'm begging and not paying for my dog's service. I have canceled my membership and hope she gets some better skills in regards to customer service and stop diagnosing animals if she does not hold the not proper credentials to do so. read more

Terrible place to have a haircut! If you love your dog don't go there. I have a shorky and I ask for a puppy stile haircut. When I went to pick him up he looks like a chihuahua. When I complained the guy said "well we can not glue it back" If that is not enough I keep asking for the receipt because I didn't get it by txt, but they are not sending me the receipt. I was super nervous about bringing my 4 month mini golden doodle for his first hair cut. This place doesn't look too impressive from the outside but I was so happy with the job they did grooming my pup. He was thrilled too! We took Henry and Ruby here and yesterday we picked up our dogs and Ruby was very upset. We normally dont write things like this but let me tell you. Ruby has not one but two cuts on her tounge. When Greg got there to pick up them up the cashier player it off like it was no big deal?! Not even a sorry or a call today to check on her. Then stated after a year of coming there the groomer weighed our dog and he was 3 pounds over so we where getting charged an additional $15. Made a commitment that the groomers work on commission so they will weight dogs to get more money!!!! These guys have changed. They use to be all about the customer and about the dogs. Maybe bew groomers? I dont know. Now the lack of carelessness and disregard of care of our babies and of course the upcharge is the reason, not only are we looking for someone to be thier new groomer but we cancelled the next year of appointments. lame lame lame be a shamed of yourselfs!!! It really is tough to write this and at first I wanted to keep out of the public. The owners (Matt and Dave) are super nice people but they will not take the fault when it squarely lies on their business. There groomers are either a mixture of inexperienced, just plain unskilled, or a little of both. As a personnel manager myself I can deal with that as long as progress is made by learning from these errors. Well in this case it was not and my dog was injured to the point she needed vet treatment and medication. Prior to this last incident there had been some bad cuts that caused my dog discomfort but nothing seemed to change. When they actually injured my dog and caused her to come home bleeding and whimpering that was the final straw. My dogs are so scared when they walk into that building to the point where they are shaking and crapping on their floor. This validates a lot of these abuse reviews I am seeing. The cutting and gashing of the dogs in all of these reviews is true I can attest to that. The worst part is the owners will not take responsibility for their employees' incompetence. Take your dogs here if you wish because the owners, whom are the only people you see, sure are nice and courteous to you in the shop. But know that you take quite a chance of getting bad product and even more importantly an injured dog. read more

3.5 hours and I'm pretty sure all they did was spray her with perfume. She wasn't brushed or blown out. I was told they were going to use the Furminater on her and when I got her back I had to re brush her twice because of all the hair. And I'm pretty sure they dosed her with some form of sedative. If you're like me, and it's extremely important that your dog looks up to standard to his breed, please skip this place for that type of service. Nail trims and baths, you'll have no problems. UPDATE Not only did my pup receive a butchered haircut, shortly after bringing him home I noticed his discomfort when defecating. I kept my eye on things, and now two days later and no improvement, I noticed what appears to be a red bump/rashes on the flesh of his tail, near his anus. Clearly a grooming injury. Why wasn't I informed???I understand accidents happen when grooming, but it is irresponsible, unethical, and unprofessional for the groomer to not to notify the owner. First, when we arrived my pup never felt comfortable which is interesting since hes never got a haircut before and is normally happy anywhere we take him. I text them 3 hours later and they told me he was ready to pick up. When I arrived, to my dismay my dog looked nothing like the picture I provided when I originally showed up. When I asked about this I was told that they made his coat shorter so we didnt have to come back. Not sure how that is their decision as I the owner expressed exactly how I wanted his hair and that I didn't want it to be short and now I can't even recognize my puppy. She's fluffy, she smells powder fresh and has golden feathers and bows in her hair. She looks like a million bucks. I've been taking my dogs here for years. The people who work here are friendly and professional. They do an amazing job getting my bulldogs clean, which is not an easy thing to do! A normal bath for a bulldog will only keep them smelling and looking good for a week. Riverview Grooming somehow keeps them fresh for at least 3 weeks, sometimes I can stretch it to four! I am very happy with the service received from Dave the groomer and his friendly staff. I've been taking my English bulldog "Missy" here every 3-4 weeks for about a year now and have never been dissatisfied. Missy always comes out looking beautiful and they always squeeze her in to their busy day if I request a last minute appointment. The staff is always polite and professional. This was our first time when I picked her up she was losing a ton of hair and kinda damp... even tho I had asked for the de-furring treatment. I ended up going to pet smart to get a brush because she was losing so much damn hair and I was going to just not go back. Upon brushing her...HOLY SH*T I don't even think they brushed her. The amount of hair coming off of this dog as I brushed her on my only day off was insane. As I sat out in the hot sun brushing her I noticed some brown stains on her foot and on her tail. It's was dog poop, she either had an accident there or they didn't bathe her at all. I was going to just leave a bad review and not go back but that didn't seem fair to the small business so I called. I was offered a $2 dollar refund...trust the other bad reviews and just skip this place. They cut corners and clearly think this kind of service is acceptable. read more

Terrible experience. I went in for nail clip and grind. I heard my dog yelp and scramble. They said they will need to bathe her as she pooped all over. I heard someone screaming at her in the back. I was asked to wait in the car while they bathed her. When they walked my dog back out to my car, her paw was bleeding, she still smelled like poop and her right eye was oozing blood. They charged me for the bath and nails. I wish I would have called animal control that moment. I had trouble getting her foot to stop bleeding. I had small puddles on my car's upholstery. Within days, my dog developed a serious eye infection in the eye that was somehow injured and oozing blood. The emergency Vet prescribed $358 worth of medications to treat this eye infection and said she will likely loose the eye. My dog was in serious distress and pain. I could not stand the suffering she was in and facing her losing her eye. The Vet suggested the most humane thing to do was to put her down. Please report problems to regulatory agencies so that other pets and owners don't have to suffer due to the negligence of these so called professional groomers. read more

Other clients, about 6, were also waiting, frustrated because they were missing work. After bringing our dogs here several times, I have decided to up my stars to 4 from 3. I have learned that if I am very specific on what I want done to my dogs, I get what I want. I am now very happy with their service, and my puppy looks awesome!! I am really on the fence as to how many stars to give this review, 3 or 4. I've settled on 3 and hope I can raise it if I go back. First off the employees here are extremely nice and friendly. They explain things well to you and don't rush through a conversation. Second, their prices are very reasonable. They have a huge list of services, you can just walk in if you only need your dog's nail's clipped, which is nice, but appointment needed if grooming is to be done. You can book online at their website. Prices ranged from $15 - $37 depending on age and size of dog. Third...this is a groomer after all and why I took my Morkie puppy here. His hair is out of control. I've never had a dog like this before so didn't really know what to expect. I just wanted him to still look like a puppy when I picked him up. The girl who took him in said it would be about 2 1/2 hours before he was ready but I got a call an hour later saying he was done. I thought, oh oh, he didn't behave. I was told because he was only 4 months old that they would just trim his face, feet and "sanitaries", bathe him and clip his nails. When she brought him out and handed him to me I noticed immediately that his nails were not cut, he scratched me immediately, So she brought him back in to do that. He was nice and clean and fluffy, but I didn't look at anything else since he was quite anxious. Once home, and I got to check out his face I was very disappointed. Now mind you, I do not know what the normal cut for a dog like this is, so this is just my "mommy" opinion. All the hair around his eyes was shaved short (No more eyebrows :-( ) I noticed near his nose it was way too short and looked like the clippers slipped and just cut too much. The top of his head was shaved short., His feet looked really cute and were trimmed nicely. The hair on his back was not touched but the hair under his tail was shaved some. I asked if his misbehaved, he is a very lively puppy after all but she assured me he was fine. How his face was cut told me differently. If he wouldn't sit still and this caused a not so great face cut, I'd rather know that than to think they just didn't do a good job. So now my dilemma, to go back or not? read more

I took my dog here for a nail trim and grind. I was a walk in. They did a great job. It was quick and the prices are very reasonable.

You get what you pay for... Customer service, grooming and all. I can't outright say this place is bad, because the grooming was OK. My dogs smelled clean and had clean looking hair cuts. When you schedule a groom, make sure you get very specific pricing. I brought a dog in who was totally shaved down and we simply needed his beard and feet trimmed. They charged me for a full groom because they "trimmed a patch" on his body. They basically made easy money today. My other irritation with this place is that I was told to come back at a certain time to pick up my dogs. When I arrived, I was told it would be about 30 more minutes. Most professional grooming salons will call you as a courtesy to let you know it will be a little longer. You also don't get to meet or see the groomers. Most places you talk directly with the groomer to build that relationship. This made me a little uncomfortable. Again, not a horrible experience, just not a smooth or happy experience. read more

I have been bringing my pup here for the past year. Cuts have been hit and miss but, it's convenient because it's close. The service before last was told there were a few "sensitive spots" from the cut when my dog actually had a completely bald and pink chest, to which the groomer DID NOT point out. This past service I was extremely dissatisfied and then even tried to contact the groomers with no response. Cut was uneven, nothing like the picture I provided and on top of that after promising my dog would be ready in 3 hours, I never received notification that she was ready. I called and texted (as they said I would get a quicker response) with no success, I had to actually go to the groomers to see the status and was told oh she was ready 30 minutes ago. I was greated with a smile and Ozzy my aussie was perfect her hair was all even and she smelled so clean. Which amazed me because I have been turned away from multiple groom salons becouse Ozzy can be so difficult during her groom. So props to the groomer unfortunately I did not catch her name becouse I was so excited at this point. But she was the white female with tattoos. As soon as they took our first dog to the back we heard a lot of screaming and a dog whining. We heared a lady yelling "shut the fuck up, you're the worst dog ever, stop fucking moving" I ran to bang the door several times to get my dog out of there! The cashier hands me my dog and I say what the hell is going on back there, we hear a lady cussing at a dog and the dog whining. She basically told me what do you want me to do, I said let me speak to the manager or the owner. She goes and calls someone. A lady comes out, I unfortunately didn't get her name due to how shaken up I was by this but she was a white female with glasses and some tattoos in her arms saying what! I asked her are you the manager? she answered yes but she looked mad and aggravated, I said are you the one who was just grooming a dog in the back and yelling? She said yes I was grooming. I told her yes you were also cussing and hurting a dog back there she said denied it and when I told her that me and my husband had hear everything and recorded it she asked me to leave making up an excuse that she was cussing at someone else. I told her that it was bullshit and that she shouldn't be handling a poor innocent animal if she didn't have the patience to do so. I am going to look further into speaking to the owner but please do not drop off your pets here! Not until this person gets fired and they fi the issue and do a better job at training! read more

Pleasantly surprised by the fact they except walkins for just about everything. My dog is always well taken care of, and when our usual groomer was fully booked, The groomers here did not hesitate to take my pooch in. She smelled sweet, her nails were trimmed, her ears were cleaned, her teeth were brushed, and her coat conditioned. I was so happy with their service that I immediately called my mother to convince her to take her long-haired Chihuahua in. Two weeks later, I drove my mother's dog in for the same type of appointment, and while they were not able to do a haircut, they made sure to take very good care of her, and gave her the same treatment my own dog got. I just wanted to post a really good review for Riverview grooming. I have a yellow lab that is a big baby and today he was not having it going inside. He really needed his nails cut because he won't allow me to do it and the lady working the front desk came out to my car and cut them for me. I know it's not normal practice and she went out of her way to help me out. I feel bad now that I didn't get her name but I feel it was exceptional service that she did that for me thank you so much! read more

I don't recommend using Riverview Grooming, ever. Notice when you walk in how there are black curtains up that block your view to the back - where the dogs are being groomed. The staff is horrible. There have been instances where I could hear them cursing and getting frustrated with the dogs they were grooming. They are dishonest and care about the money vs the animals. They shoved my 85lb husky into a crate half his size. If you have BIG dogs over 50lbs definitely don't bring them here! They REFUSED to give me my animals while they stood in the back and talked about me because I was frustrated with their lack of customer service skills all while I'm just trying to pay and get out of that place. All of that led to me going to the back to retrieve MY dogs. They called the cops on me etc. all while still demanding MONEY. After I tried to pay multiple times and was blatantly ignored. If you want to ensure your dog is safely and appropriately groomed I recommend a mobile groomer in general. But definitely not this hell hole. read more
