It's only right to update a review when it is deserved. Baloo went to the vet today and it was a quick in and out experience. Our appointment was at 8a, I (unfortunately) got there a little before 810a and I was seen around 820 and out before 9. Fine with me. I love the admin staff. Nancy, in particular, remembers Baloo since he was a puppy and she was also there when my late GSD, Bagheera, was a patient there as well! She's always hospitable and Baloo loves her. There was a time when Baloo got bit at a dog beach and I rushed to Boyette, historical, and she met me in the parking lot to calm me down. It's just always good to see the same familiar faces in a facility like a vet or hospital, dogs and dog owners remember and appreciate this. We had to switch doctors once again though. As a mentioned before Dr. Amanda was amazing. Dr. Rochelle took her place for us, but she has now left. If I can suggest specific doctors for large dogs, Dr. Sarah Hilario and Dr Nancy M have both done great with Baloo. We had Dr Nancy today and we plan to stick with her. Not our first time with her as a patient but today's experience sealed the deal. She's patient, got Baloo excited to let him know that she wasn't there to hurt him or confuse him, but she also recognized when Baloo finally calmed down from excitement and angst that she shouldn't trigger that up again. Overall great experience, no complaints. And Baloo got a holiday gift, which is also a plus in his book. read more

Needless to say, he wasn't finished until 4pm and I swear, it looks like they trimmed the hair on his tail and splashed water on him. Nothing looks cut, doesn't smell like shampoo and his nails and paws are exactly how we dropped him off this morning. Extremely upset as the veterinarians are great but NEVER go there for a grooming. I can tell you 100% that he would not have made it without the loving, professional, caring attention that Dr. Bob and his doctors and staff gave him. Animals can't talk (last time I checked) and I can tell you that there is a reason I drive over an hour for the animals we love! #191 I use this vet for the normal care for my two pugs, Tank and Tiki. They have provided very good care but nothing was ever wrong with either of them. When Tank came down with what we called a cold he walked around the house sneezing and nose running, and it wasn't getting better. We took him to Boyette on a same day appointment (on a Saturday) to get him looked at. He was diagnosed with a upper respiratory or sinus infection. Either way the treatment was the same. The staff were great and the vet was very nice and Tank is now on antibiotics. My only beef with this place is the waiting. It seems excessive. My doctor office runs on time, seems this place can't. Minor, I know but hey, when you're sitting in the exam room for 15 minutes it seems a bit longer than that. read more

They are a veterinary office a bit like AutoZone is a mechanics shop or MacDonald's is a restaurant. You can get your flea and tick medicine. They can charge you to look at your animal. Will they figure anything out for you? Eh, who knows. That said, if your expectations are sufficiently low, you won't be let down too much. If you are looking to actually figure out what is ailing your beloved animal... well odds aren't as good. More seriously, customer service has mostly been good, just not at all impressed with their ability to ascertain a root cause from a set of symptoms. We had a problem with one of our animals losing weight- then it was let's do blood and urine testing... nothing showing up, so good luck figuring it out on your own.... read more

For years I took my animals to the vets there and frequently boarded when I had to travel, but I have to give them right now a RESOUNDING BAD REVIEW!!! The staff out front openly show their enjoyment of cruelty to animals. DO NOT TAKE YOUR PETS THERE! There were instances over the years where I tried to be understanding, and once I had to actually walk out with one of my dogs and take them elsewhere for suture removal due to just overwhelming incompetence on the part of the staff. If I could leave a zero star review I would. This place is incompetent. They have killed two of our families cats during surgery and inadequately treated another cat leading to near death as well . These animals who died were healthy with no health conditions and underwent routine surgeries . They are murdering pets !!! Stay away from them. I would strongly encourage you to not use Boyette Animal Hospital for your pets. On Saturday morning, July 1, Sunny, our GSD, had sudden troubles breathing, standing, and was cold to the touch. We called Boyette, as this was her vet for the past 5 years, and they have Saturday hours. I was told they had no availability for the day. When I responded my dog was dying, I was directed to Blue Pearl Animal Hospital or Fetch Animal Hospital, both an additional 25 minutes from my home. On the way, our beloved, sweet Sunny died in the backseat, likely from a ruptured undiagnosed cancerous mass. While I do not believe it would have changed the outcome, had Boyette seen our dog in an emergency situation, my teenage son would have been spared the trauma of listening to his dog's last breaths in the backseat of his car and not had to carry her lifeless body into a strange vet's office. Boyette has a sign on their counter which says emergencies are treated first, yet, they turned my dog--an established patient--away. I went today in person to speak with a supervisor about our treatment and she repeated this nonsense regarding appointments. When I asked why they have this sign posted, I was offered no explanation. I will never bring an animal to this facility again and I would discourage any of you from doing the same. read more

Filed claim with the state licensing board for an investigation of this 'vet' for incompetence and other related veterinarian violations. Pet was misdiagnosed after running all suggested tests and passed just 2 weeks later. If you love your pet as a family, pls don't be fooled by the beautiful landscape and buildings. After 16 yrs I'm just done. This clinic has always been more expensive, but since adding their new buildings EVERY things is about money. They are quick to remind you they charge $100 for same day appointments. I called for an ER follow up visit and was reminded of the up charge plus "just show up and you may have to wait for hours". They didn't even ask how my dog was doing after the ER visit or why she had to go to the ER. They call themselves a " hospital". Why not have a few time slots available for ER follow ups or urgent needs? THERE is little accommodation for unwell pets anymore. While my dogs have always had regular visits, sometimes they get sick unexpectedly. Unfortunately this clinic has little interest in accommodating you. When we do visit we are made to feel like an inconvenience even on regular appointments. When I walk in for food or medicine pick up the staff makes you feel like you are bothering them. I remember when there were a few vets and a few staff members. Everyone was very nice and seemed to care. My dog has only months to live. It's sad that after only using one vet office it's whole life I am forced to find someone who cares about my dog and not just my money. read more

The individuals who work here clearly don't have a passion for animals. They disregard not only how the animal feels but have no consideration for the owners either. They will not communicate with the owners before proceeding to muzzle and force your baby down on a table. Do NOT go here if you care about how your baby is treated. If all you want is for someone to make sure stuff gets done with little regard for your babies feelings, guess this is the place to go. Just don't be mad if they either call the county and try to have your dog killed (like they did to someone else), or they traumatize your baby by muzzling them and forcing them down without even approaching you or speaking to you first. read more

You make an appointment than have to wait an hour or longer to see anyone and than you get attitude when you ask why things are taking long or you get that they don't know how long the ver will be. My family has been taking our cats here for a few years now, ever since our regular vet was on vacation and recommended Boyette to us. I take my newest buddy there now, too, and it's even more convenient now that I live in Riverview. The front office staff are courteous and efficient. They have late hours during the week and are open on Saturdays, as well. I've had emergency issues and they've found ways to squeeze me in, even if I have to wait for a bit. I've seen several of the vets there and they've all been great. They take the time to explain everything to you and you can tell they really care about the animals they treat. They even have a drive-thru pharmacy, which is really cool. I haven't used it yet, but I like that it's there! read more

Honestly. It hurts me to write this as we are long term customers. From Nikita to Jake to Sampson to Bentley to Henry. We have been faithful customers. We even traveled here when we moved farther away. Sadly though the Dad has moved on from this business and so has the heart. After nearly 20 years of business and thousands of dollars spent. We were passed over to Blue pearl in our time of need. The dog died. Unfortunately so did our faith in this family business. I will never go back. They just weren't there when we need them. When the dog died, they never even reached out. This business has gone downhill fast and we have moved on. Unfortunately we lost a 2 year old puppy because of it. Boyette animal hospital has always taken great care of our Yorkie. They are always accommodating with appointments and fitting him in when he needs to be seen. The doctors, techs and front desk are all very nice and caring. They take the time to explain things and really love on your fur baby. Recently my dog wasn't breathing well so I called and when I got there they rushed out to get him and put him on oxygen and talked me through the next steps thoroughly. Tried to call this facility to find more information about cost of services and concerns I had about my puppy. I was on hold almost 10 minutes before anyone even picked up the phone. Then after they answered, they said they would get someone to help me and I was placed back on hold and no one ever picked up. I don't think that answering a few questions should require me to sit and wait that long. I understand that some businesses are busy but it seems a like a red flag if you do not have time to talk to potential customers. Originally, this place was highly recommended on Nextdoor, that's the only reason I considered it. I've been taking our dogs here since moving here 3 1/2 years ago. I'm very happy with the care my dogs get here. Dr. Michelle is awesome with my fur babies. She does not push unnecessary vaccines or testing. That is a breath of fresh air!! She loves to tell "animal stories" and makes you feel like a friend. I've also used their boarding and grooming..both are great. My dogs actually get excited when they get to "go on vacation". If they board for 5 or more days, they groom them for free before you pick them up. The only reason I do not give them 5 stars is because of the wait time. Put in a tiny room with 2dogs for an extended time gets them stressed out, the I get stressed. This is the one thing they can work on. read more
