This was my first visit to this Veterinary Hospital. I was very happy to find that I lived so near them. They were very friendly and pleasant when I first got there. I filled out the necessary forms for my Peek-A-Poo and then set down to wait for my appointment. My wait was only about 15 to 20 minutes before being taken to an examination room where I discussed all my concerns about my dog with the assistant. She took Poo(my dog) and weighed him, brought him back let me know he had two shots that had expired and asked,if I would like an estimate on the cost for that days visit and whatever might need to be done might cost that day. I told her yes plus the cost of getting his two shots while there so he would be up to date and I also needed to get a 6-month supply of Flea Protection as I had just run out. She went and typed up an Estimate for me of the cost and I decided that I wanted to get it all taken care of that day, by then the Veterinarian, Dr. Vargas came in, who is also very friendly and nice and very gentle with your pet. She discussed all my concerns, explained all of them, what I could do for each of them, and told me what medicines I could give to my pet that I have at ho,e already without having to get a prescription filled. She also said anytime I felt I needed to maybe something stronger than what I was using at home then to call her office and she could prescribe something a little stronger for my pet. I really was impressed with this place and am so glad I found it. Actually, my son and his finance found it and took their Dog their the day before I went there. And the price I was charged for everything was about half the price I have been charged at a lot of other Veterinary Hospitals I have taken my Dog and 2 Cats to in the last 4 years. I took one of our cats to a Veterinarian about six months ago because she was not eating very much or drinking much water and just laying around the house. They took a sample of Blood, weighed the cat gave us a bottle of pills and spent about 20 minutes with us and the cat all total. The bill was $563.00. My Dog yesterday got checked for heart worms, got two shots, got weighed, Dr. examined his whole body,took blood, got a 6- month supply of Flea Protection(which is $129.00 by itself) and the whole bill with taxes was $252.00 read more

My family has been coming to this office for almost twenty years with our various critters. When I moved away and had my own pets I still make the drive so I can keep coming to this office. Recently my dog started acting sick and I brought her in to see if she had caught a bug. After x-rays and an exam they discovered she was far worse then anyone had thought. I had mentioned to the nurse what my budget was and after hearing what needed to be done in terms of surgery and aftercare Dr. Garriga came in and said he would do everything that needed to be done and keep it all within my budget. That was such a relief. He even said she needed the surgery asap so he was going to stay late on a Saturday and get her all fixed up. As the surgery began I was called by the vet and given regular updates. Unfortunately she was sick beyond what anyone could do. Cancer had spread throughout her entire body to all her major organs. The staff stayed late as we came in to say our goodbye's. They let us stay as long as we wanted and we are extremely grateful for that. There may have been nothing we could have done for our pup but I am forever grateful to Riverview Vet for giving us the piece of mind we needed with our sweet girl. I can never thank Dr. Garriga enough for everything he tried to do for her and in the end we all knew what had to be done without any doubt. I can't say enough good things about Riverview Veterinary Hospital and espeically Dr. Vargo. When I first moved to the area my dog counter dived and ate an entire Costco Rotisserie Chicken (bones, meat, string and all). I immediately called and the wonderful receptionist talked me off the ledge. She even spoke to the doctor to ensure she was giving me the right information (luckily both of my dogs were fine). Dr. Vargo and vet-tech Jen were there for me when I had to send my 14 year old lab-mix across the rainbow bridge 3 years ago and they still remember her when I bring in my 6-year old for his visits. I just brought my boy in for his first dental cleaning and the care they showed Gizmo helped ease this nervous momma's mind! Josh took the time to explain the procedure and post-treatment care. They always call after a visit to ensure Gizmo is doing OK and are always there when you need them. If you're looking for a Veterinary Hospital that has heart and puts your animals best interest first then this is where you should go! I still believe this is the very BEST Vet around! We still drive all the way from Ruskin just to see those friendly smiling faces of the staff, techs, and doctors. We recently had surgery on our kitten, Buddy, and they really out did themselves. They gave me calls to let me know how he was and before they proceeded the doctor herself called to discuss his blood work with me. They gave great instructions on what to do once we got home bc it has been a while for me, lol. But they are the kindest most caring people and I love to call Riverview Veterinary Hospital the place to go when my fur babies need help. I've been taking my pets to Riverview Veterinary Hospital for over 20 years. I have been so pleased with the care my dogs and cats have received. They bring patience, compassion and thoroughness to each patient and the love and dedication is always there, even with the most uncooperative animals! Yes, I had one dog, Java, who would frustrate the best of us but they persevered and were able to help him as a young dog, into middle and old age as he developed kidney failure and helped make him (and me) comfortable at the end at 15 years old. I also appreciate their honesty and willingness to take the time with each pet and caregiver. They also help make the treatments financially feasible for us. We have been a patient at Riverview Vets office for almost 31 years. We have taken each of our "fur babies" to this office. I can not say enough about the care, service and compassion each and everyone in this office provides. We have had 3 dogs die in our home and each time we took them to Riverview Vets office, they met us upon arrival and took possession of our pet and each time show empathy. Josh has been so great, has always provide excellent care and has been very gentle and loving and has informed us of what he was doing or that had been done. We have been a customer of Riverview Veterinary Hospital starting with Dr. Hann lovingly providing care for four of our fur babies over the past 20 plus years. I trust no one else. We lost our beloved Cleo today after almost 14 years. Dr Vargo, Dr. Garriga and the staff have been very good to us and were always available when I would call to get advice after our Cleo was diagnosed with Lymphoma a little more than 2 weeks ago. They were very caring and recommended the best for her in her last days. We have our precious Bandit left and will continue with them for his care. They are very reasonable with their prices, and don't charge an arm and a leg for their services. Dr Garriga does an amazing job cutting my dog's nails! Dr. Morgan Vargo has been a godsend to our pets. She is thorough and conservative in her treatment with the whole picture in sight. Years ago, she started out interning under Dr. Randy Hann and when she graduated from UF, she came back as a vet. Since then, Dr. Hann has sold the practice to Dr. Garriga. The facilities may not be in a brand new building but the care for your pet is unsurpassed. Thank you Dr. Vargo. I researched all the clinics in the middle of the night because my kitty was in pain. This one had the best reviews and when I took my kitty in first thing in the morning, they squeezed me in and gave her the very best care. I loved how the vet was conservative about medicine and keeping in mind all the side effects. They even let her pick out a catnip toy and she actually loves it. I have not been able to get her to like catnip but she does now! Loved this place! read more

I have been very happy with Riverview Veterinary Hospital. The vets I've dealt with, Dr. G and Dr. Vargo, took the time to fully explain what was going on with my dog, how they determined the what was going on, and the different treatment options. The staff is always very nice and I highly recommend the vet techs - good vet techs are priceless. My dog requires some careful handling and they are always mindful of those considerations. Within 6 months of moving to Riverview my 19 year old cat went into kidney failure. My first visit to Riverview Veterinary Hospital was to euthanize my dear cat. I've been going to Riverview Veterinary Clinic for 8 years. The doctors and techs have always been caring and gentle with my cats. I recommend them highly! I like the fact that they always call the following day to see how my baby is doing. They are on the expensive side but they are caring and convenient to home so I wouldn't go anywhere else! Everyone's great there from the front desk to the doctors. I would not take my pet to anyone else. They were so respectful and compassionate last year when my furbaby of 14 years was put out of her misery. Great staff, never any pressure to buy their products, services. Reasonable fees and always get appointments the same day or shortly thereafter. I have been going there since 1990 when Dr. Hahn was there. Am grateful the rates weren't increased and quality of service is still tops. I've been taking my dog here for a couple years and I've always been happy with the care, prices and availability. When she got spayed I was super nervous and they called me to let me know how she did and continued to call and check up on her days after. Not to mention to get her spayed was the cheapest place in town I had called about 8 places. Love it here! read more
