This place is very hit or miss. Sometimes it's awesome food and service, and sometimes it's good food and ok service. It's not very expensive so I guess you get what you pay for. The people in there are generally nice. Someone's always walking around filling up your coffee. Just do yourself a favor and don't place an order for pickup. This place is great. Good selection. Generally most food is good. I like the French onion soup. I would not however recommend the French toast. The French toast tasted like egg dipped in The stuffed cream cheese is delicious but not enough to overcome the lack of flavor of the French toast. I recommend the restaurant change their recipe. Add some sugar, nutmeg, and cinnamon. I got y'all with a better recipe but please this isn't it. Google a new recipe pls. Other than that this place slaps. Dined here today for the final time. Waitress (equipped with a nose ring) came and took our order 10 minutes after we were seated. Then delivered our food and never heard from her again. Had to ask another staff member for a box to go. Waitress finally came back and threw the bill down on the table without saying a word. I had to stop her to ask her to remove the charges for the side of sausage that was never delivered to our table. The very underwhelming chopped steak and eggs is now $18.95, which is ridiculously overpriced, not to mention the steak had zero flavor. Never again Folks! read more

First of all, the view from the patio is definitely underrated. Being right on the lake while enjoying my breakfast was definitely a treat. You can tell that this is a place that the locals frequent as many of the staff already knew their pick-up orders! Being on a keto diet, I thought I would go the usual "no"s and strange looks when ordering from a diner, however, my server was super understanding and was able to substitute broccoli on my skillet to make it a lot lower in carb counts than the typical skillet. The skillet still had a down -home-cooked flavor even without the potatoes and the double-yolked eggs were both hearty and delicious. The service was top-notch to match the amazing food. Service was bad. Really bad. Mary was our server, loud and conversational with other tables while we were ignored. Mask down to the chin, unprofessional. When she was confronted about her lack of service, she got loud and defenseful against us like it was our problem, not hers. Then rambles onto other staff and other customers about the issues we had with her. Even got to a point where she says "what are you gonna do, hit me?" As a threat, like she's saying go ahead and do something. If I were her manager, she needs a sit down, or she can stay at her hospital job and be rude to patients. We won't be back. read more

Stopped here on a Monday later afternoon on the way home from a trip. It wasn't busy, so Martin was able to seat me right away. Carlos was my awesome server and made a a new pot of coffee so I'd have fresh coffee. I had the French Onion soup wiht the melted Swiss Cheese to start - so good, and followed that with a Rueben and fries - very good. Carlos did a terrific job of checking in with me and making sure my coffee was full. I look forward to going back and sitting outside on their patio and trying other items from their large menu. their food used to be really great however it's alot worse now and it is not worth the price at all!!! I've been charged more for an item on the menue then whats written on the menue, and I've been charged $5.00 for one a single egg, I was asked if I wanted fries or chips for my side so I said fries and I got charged for the fries, $3 for a drink. I asked for 2 sides of bacon 1 to be cooked soft and one extra crispy and recieved both extra crispy, when I brought all this to the attention of the manager she told me she can't control any of the problems I had, I'm done over paying for this food, my family used to go every Sunday but with getting charged this much for every tiny side I'm done, come here if your willing to pay $35 for one sandwich, a drink, and a side of bacon, I won't be going back If u look at other reviews there's people talking about getting sick from raw meat, I've also tried things like their chicken parm and their shrimp it was so fricken bad, I kept going for the breakfast but now it's all bad If you check out other reviews there's people ta read more

Visited this restaurant on September 28, 2019. Ordered the Broasted Chicken that came with broccoli, chicken noodle soup, and hashbrowns. Upon receiving my meal I immediately noticed that the leg, wing, and thigh size were really small. The visual inspection showed chicken skin that was light and crisp. And that is where the meal halted. After sampling the crispy skin, delicious by the way I bit into the hot flesh and my tongue asked my brain, "What in the bland chicken is this?!" For a little over $13 for four pieces of chicken and sides I expected to have melt in your mouth well seasoned chicken. Not everyone like myself likes crispy chicken skin so it is very important for those who like skinless chicken to have well-seasoned and flavorful chicken. I had to dip the chicken in ketchup just enjoy it. The sides required salt as they were bland also. I didn't add additional salt because I don't like to shake and eat. Was Not Happy. This an old Pizza Hut restaurant that found a second life. I've only had breakfast here and I can tell you that this is another classic example where Huge portions dominate and "doggie bags" are a way of life. People love BIG portions and often will compensate this for flavor. Omelets are consistently overcooked, dry, bland and the opposite of fluffy. You'll need an extra glass of water to get this one down. Experience tells me the Chopped Steak cooked medium rare is the way to go! If you must, get here very early to avoid a congested dining area where your conversation is overheard by all neighboring tables as well. I don't mind that so much, it's just too much information for me to hear everyone else's B.S. The seating in here is tighter than a package of sliced bacon! I usually walk through the doors every six months or so. As I leave, I reassure myself exactly why it will be another six months before I return... maybe the chopped steak. read more

I've read lots of reviews of Riverview Diner, so my expectations were high as we went in. The new building is really nice and very comfortable and clean. Even though they were slammed for Sunday brunch, we were quickly seated. The bussers were fast and attentive, presenting us with cups of coffee and water immediately and keeping both topped off. Our server came and took our order quickly, but we never saw her again until she dropped off the check. If it weren't for the bussers, we would have been parched through our meal. The food was better than average, but nothing particularly special. My wife and I agreed that we have had better pancakes, although these were good. The portions were sizable, but they should have been, since our bill was $29 for my wife's pancakes, bacon, and juice and my eggs, bacon, hash browns and coffee. Not a bad experience, but with all the other choices out there, the folks here might consider stepping up their game a bit, at least in the wait-staff department. I'd eat here again, but it definitely isn't my first choice. read more

I have eaten here a lot, like several times and this makes me question ever eating here again. Apparently the chef does not know how to actually make what is asked for. I ordered a over medium egg, mine were very runny. And then my steak I wanted medium rare came out medium well then when I got another it looked like they barely cooked it. It was a rare for sure. I feel like he did it just despite me. My brother got a medium steak that was cooked well done, like a piece of leather. 40$ bill on a terribly cooked meal. Our waitress and the rest of the service was great as usual but the food was very very mediocre at best. How people eat that with a smile utterly blows my mind. Stay blessed read more

This is the kind of place a foodie dreams of. I've been working my way through the menu, and have not had a duff meal yet. Service is pretty good, if not spot on--weirdly if the place is less full (which isn't often) the service is a notch down-but thats a minor quibble. I have not gone for a steak yet, but that's next. As I dig the fish here, I have often remarked to Eleno the owner, that a "Fish and Eggs" special for breakfast might be a winner, as I have had that dish a bunch north of the Cheese Curtain. The problem is that I usually forget to order it, in favor of the other temptations on the menu. But recently, I went for lunch and as I walked in, one of the waitresses brought out a plate of fish and the lightbulb went on. We went in on 4th of July around noon so it was very busy. The host staff did an excellent job managing the wait. Our server was great, she had the cutest hello kitty tatoo. She was very knowledgeable about the menu and did have great suggestions. I had prime rib which I ordered medium, it came out closer to medium well or well done. Since it was my first time I got both brown and chicken gravy to try, brown was for sure the better of the two. Wife and daughter had chicken fried steak with brown gravy, both were excellent. Mashed potatoes are from scratch and we're great. Son had a meat breakfast skillet and pancakes all excellent. We got 4 pieces of pie to go, they look good. The restaurant was recently rebuilt and is very nice, my daughter said the restroom wad very clean. For 4 drinks, 4 entrees and 4 desserts it was $72.00. The pancakes were so cold the butter (that was sitting out on the table so they are room temperature) wouldn't even melt on them. I moved nearby a few years ago and have passed up this restaurant a few times thinking, I'd like to go there one day. Nice curb appeal, looks like a fine clean establishment (which it is). Finally went yesterday. We were seated away from everyone, which was good considering this pandemic and all. Menu is vast and had a lot of options. But I still opted for an egg white omelette with spinach, feta and avocado. Something I'm used to and enjoy. I received my meal by the nice waitress, and immediately noticed the water on the plate (from the spinach, ok I understand). I took one bite, this omelette was soaked in butter! I couldn't taste the feta, or the spinach or even the avocado. I was literally eating butter. I think by this time I was turned off and just ate my toast. Maybe it was just this one time. You can tell a lot of locals come here. I may give it another shot but I take my breakfast seriously. Will MAYBE come back to try lunch. read more

Horrible service! Went in with my family waited for more than ten minutes before anyone came to the table to take an order or asked if we wanted drinks. Only Three other tables were occupied. Our server rarely came to check in, food came out incorrectly and cold we asked for boxes to go and never received any. over charged for entire meal! The server charged separately for everything when asked why not charge for a meal he took $1 off. Then said well I did you a favor and didn't charge additional for a drink because he saw me take a drink of my daughter's tea. The host/ manager walked away offering no assistance. It's fresh squeezed and worth it. Also, Eggs Benedict- the Canadian bacon is a thick slice of ham. Service is excellent and fast.
