I brought my bike in to get my RockshoX Reverb post repaired as it was stuck down. after having the bike for a week I was told they didn't think it could be repaired, but they would ask the head mechanic to take a look. He confirmed it was not repairable and I was told the Reverb post wasn't good quality anyway and the hydraulics are over complicated. I was quoted $250 for a new post and $70 to install it. For $30 I bought a Reverb bleed kit, and not having ever worked on one, I had it repaired and bled within 20 minutes of getting the bike home. I'm pretty sure they never tried pumping up the air cylinder. I usually service my own bike but thought I would give Riverside a try. I saved myself $290 by not trusting the advice of the shop, we're you just trying to sell me a new post or do your mechanics not have any idea what they're doing?? I guess I will keep servicing my own bike or take it to someone other than Riverside. read more

Best bike rental place for Kiawah- we have used Seaside cycles the last few years and couldn't be happier. Bikes are in good condition, all had a basket and nice touch is they put your name on your rental bikes to help keep track of them. Delivered to correct address on time and very responsive any time i have called- will continue to use Seaside cycles every year! read more

Got a bike on Craig's list that didn't have any back brakes. The folks at Seaside Cycle in Manchester, especially Justin, were such a big help. They had the parts I needed (Giant. Cypress) and finished the work on the second day. Prices were reasonable and service was excellent, friendly, and down-to-earth. Needed emergency repair - new front wheel for a rickety old 3-speed, my only non-foot transportation around town, especially to and from work. Next repair appointment was 5 or 6 weeks later. They did the job right away. Tech - a knowledgeable expert, masterful, I'd say - did the work right in front of my eyes. Another jumped in when an extra pair of hands was needed. Fixed the problem quickly at a very low cost. Seaside is a very good place to take your bike if it needs work. read more

I've lived in MA for the last 10 years - the first 7 in the city, where biking was my primary form of transportation, every day of the year, regardless of the weather. The last 3 years have been on the North Shore, where I've had to (through gritted teeth and tears) spend more time driving and sitting in traffic. Over the course of this time, I've been in a LOT of bicycle shops all over the state (including trips to Western MA and the Cape). I now live nearest to Seaside. Being in Manchester - by - the - Sea, I expected it to be full of the typical douches with an added touch of pompous for good measure. However, I have ever been pleasantly surprised to quite like all the staff there. They're super friendly, knowledgeable, always eager to help, and there focus always seems to be on being a good business rather than figuring out ways to take your money. Due to hating driving, I decided on an electric bike, researched, and found they're a retailer of Specialized Turbos. I've owned my Turbo for nearly a year now and have had more than (by my estimates) my fair share of issues. 97% of those issues have been due to electronic/electrical issues - not really bike issues. These guys have gone above and beyond to help me out and keep me on the road. The warranty makes clear that the parts are covered, but not the service. They have really put in the time and effort to get Specialized to cover as much as possible (considering the number of issues I've had since paying a LOT of money for it). And they've always been friendly and super great about it - which is hard b/c I've been quite frustrated numerous times and tend to whine like a baby. Anyway, I really like this place - they're good at what they do and good ppl besides, which is really hard to find together. read more

I'm in Gloucester for a few days of fun. I have a flat tire :-( I go to the local bike store (today-Friday).. They are closed the entire weekend to "enjoy" the festival going on. I will never understand that because for one,the festival itinerary does not even start until end of business hours. I drive to Seaside Cycle in Manchester by the Sea. They immediately took my bike in fixed my flat and were very pleasant so I decided to spend an additional $50 on accessories. Sorry Big Mike's. Hope you enjoyed the festival. It was a pleasure to deal with them. I got exactly what I needed and the price was really low. I gave them carte blanche to spend more of my money and they didn't. Typical smug bike shop. Unless your buying a 10,000 dollar bike they can't be bothered with you. They act like your bothering them. There tunes suck too. If you need a tune watch GCN on YouTube and do it yourself. read more

I have arthritic hands. I can't change tires anymore. But Seaside has bailed me out on flats multiple times with while-you-wait service. And while I'm waiting, I buy stuff. Nice people, nice owner and very knowledgeable about all manner of cycling. Especially racing, triathalon etc. Like em' a lot. They have a nice little espresso bar too. Plus, some drop dead racing bikes and FIT studio. read more
