My vehicle AC was blowing warm air while I was traveling from Texas to Alabama for a family trip. I had just been treated rudely and ignored at the local Hyundai dealership a few miles up the road. I pulled into this location and asked if they could look at my vehicle. The tech immediately said he would take a look at it. After a few minutes, he came back and explained that I had a Freon leak and needed to get it serviced for a long term repair. Then offered to fill it for the trip to keep cool in the car. Plugged my tire. Flat the next morning. Had roadside assistance come to the house the next morning and said "who plugged this? This is awful!" Roadside assistance did it for free. Still leaked but much slower. Went to another tire place and they did an amazing job and said I needed new tires. Showed me how bad the tread on the tire was! Also NO zone wearing masks there!! I am an out of state student down in Louisiana and while I had found a good auto repair shop in schooltown of Hammond, I was working in Covington when my car decided that it was going to all but explode. So I needed somewhere I could drop the car off before work and then if worse came to worse, walk to work and back to pick it up. My normal Hammond auto repair was way overloaded and couldn't have it done soon and I found a place near my work, but at the end of the day, it was going to cost $1,000 to replace my radiator which had several cracks in it, replace the thermostat which was going crazy, and get a full tune up with rotors, wiring, and distributor cap which was all original (The car was a '98). The guys were nice enough but that price was going to kill me. After a suggestions from a coworker who heard about me flipping out about it, I took one of the scariest drives of my life to change the repairs over to the guys at the Riverside Auto Repair. Instantly, I felt welcomed and valued. They didn't treat me like an idiot because I was a female. They told me what was wrong, and asked if I understood it. If I did, they moved on, and if I didn't, they explained in simple but not in a condescending fashion what it was, what it did and why it was important. They agreed with the original diagnostic but gave me a lower estimate of $605. They didn't even charge me to do the diagnostic over again since I had the paper diagnostic from the other guys. Thankfully, I had family help me out with the cost but the guys at Riverside Auto made me feel at ease and not worried at all about my car. Zach and Richard are the two sweetest guys ever and not once did I feel like I was being talked down to, although Richard did tease me about needing to turn on my radio (I swear I did!), when I came back asking why my radio wasn't working after the repair. It was just a short off some kind apparently. It hasn't gone off again since, but I did turn it on before I called and asked them to look at it. I had a PHENOMENAL experience with Riverside and will gladly come back again and again and I will (and have already) referred several people to them. read more

My daughter's car was smoking while driving down hwy190. She pulled into Riverside Automotive to get help but it was close to closing so she left the car there. The next day after calling to check onthe car they said they weren't 100 % sure what the problem was. Later that same day they called to notify that the radiator and its motor needed to be replaced. We said we would come pick up the car because the fee to replace was over 500.00. When we wet to pick up the car he said we should leave the car and he would get a cheaper part to replace the radiator. Half the price is what Richard said so we left it there for them to do the job. After several days they called to say the car was ready. Picked it up Drive to car line and then toward Covington High School only to have the car start smoking again. We paid 551.00 for the total job and he said it would half the price but it wasn't and the damn car was not even fixed. They kept the car again for days only to tell us to take it for another opinion because they weren't sure what the problem was. We took it to Atlas (should have gone there to begin with) . They diagnosed that the problem was the thermostat and not the radiator. So 289.00 later the car is fixed by Atlas the best place on the Northshore. Down 551.00 and didn't even fix the problem. Riverside is a sham of mechanics. They have all those cars in the lot because they don't fix anything. Not recommended!!! read more

I have gone here before to have AC work done on my car and they were great. Fair prices and good work. I went there yesterday because my Civic was leaking coolant. They took me right in and figured out quickly the engine block was cracked. The mechanic was so honest and knowledgeable that he knew that this was a recall issue and Honda will fix it for free. I needed a battery for my truck luckily I stopped at auto zone and my battery wasn't even registering a reading. The gentleman there sent me next door for them to look at. At first i was apprehensive but couldn't have asked for better service, honesty and a better group of people to deal with. Brought my car in to get checked out at 2pm on a Tuesday. Left it there because they were too busy to even look at it til the next morning - even had to rent a car. The guy said he'd call first thing Wednesday with details and an estimate. He didn't call til 11:30. Told me it was a problem with the back tire. But I should just go ahead and replace all 4. Told him pleas just replace one. He said it would be ready "later this afternoon". I called at 2:30 to check up on it. Was told He would call me right back. Two hours later we drove up there being that it was now almost 5 and I had to work out of town the next day. The guy tells my husband he orders the tire too late. When was he going to tell me?
