I purchased 4 tires for my son's car from Tire Rack and had them delivered here as they were recommended by Tire Rack. I made an appointment online and was called and told the tires were delivered. I told him that I was going to drop the car off first thing in the morning (weekday). He told me they would try to have it ready when they closed but he couldn't say. I said Well I have an appointment scheduled for first thing tomorrow and it's a basic mount and balance of four tires. His reply was they service their customers before Tire Rack Customers. I said excuse me but I am under the impression I am YOUR customer as I will be paying you to mount and balance the tires. He didn't see things that way obviously. I went and picked up the tires took them to NTB around the corner without an appointment and they were mounted and balanced within the hour. How much do I enjoy the services offered by my Firestone? I just bought lifetime alignment, rotation and balance on my brand-new car! We've been using this service for over a decade on all of our cars. While I can't vouch for the benefit scientifically, I've got a set of tires on a Jeep Wrangler with over 60k miles on them and they ride as smooth as the day we drove 'em off of Firestone's lot! Just a quick heads up to anyone on the Northshore that has their car serviced for anything at the Firestone in Mandeville on 190. I brought my car in yesterday to have the air conditioner serviced and I get a call saying my brakes rotors and calipers need replacing and the serpentine belt and pully system as well. I said ok do the work it is what it is. $1900 later I walked out the door at closing time after being there since 8am. Being there that long I assumed the work was done and done well. Skip to today. I drove my car from Mandeville to Slidell and from Slidell to Gretna and then traveling home I was driving in NOLAEAST and I hear something fall from my car and by the time I get to the twin span my breaks were nearly gone. I was able to get it to the Firestone by the grace of God and they put it on the lift and the caliper bolt is what I lost. They ended up replacing the front rotors and breaks again and I'm back on the road. I called the Mandeville store and RONNIE acts like oh well. He said I'm sorry but it happens sometimes. WHAT THE HECK??? IT HAPPENS SOMETIME!!!! I told him when you are playing around with peoples brakes you are playing with peoples lives and that didn't even seem to phase him. That whole situation could have ended up really bad but hey, it happens sometimes. Didn't offer me an any kind of money back for my troubles or any kind of future service at their cost. Needless to say I won't be going to them anymore. Fk Firestone. I hope anyone reading this takes that as a warning to make sure your work is done right before leaving. Ronnie, the manager, obviously has a great time being sarcastic at the expense of his loyal customers and laughing about it! He has a very poor sense of customer service and I will not be returning. I would not recommend Firestone in Mandeville. I contacted them to swap a set of tires out with new ones purchased from Tire Rack. I let the manager know that one of the tires was damaged and was going to be covered under Tire Rack's road hazard warranty and that they would need to contact Sonsio for the claim. I dropped off four new tires and the wheels and tires from my car. I told them not to bother with the valve stems nor the TPMS just swap the tires. I was given a quote of $16.99 per tire for mount and lifetime balance and the quote also had another $15 installation totaling $148 and some change. I assumed this was a mistake and after dropping the tires off I looked on Tire Racks site and verified that mount and balance was $14.20 per tire. When I returned to pick up the tires I questioned the additional $15 per tire and was initially told that it was a charge for "outside" tires that the $16.99 was for tires purchased from tirerack.com or in store. I produced the invoice from the Tire Rack and was then handed off to the sales manager that had initially given me the quote. He said that I had signed the quote and that was that and the technicians spent their time ensuring that they did not damage my "pristine" wheels. I told him that was my expectation no matter what the charge and that I was not going to pay his "premium" price that I would pay $16.99 per. The manager became angry told me that I wasnt getting any warranty and not to come back to his store. I walked out to my SUV to begin loading the tires back up while he then proceeded into the shop. He opened the bay door and began throwing the tires in my direction. I stood at the back of my SUV until he went back into the store and then loaded the wheels and tires up. I bought my last three sets of tires for two of my suburbans in the last 8 years, including buying and financing the warranty's tire rotation, and balancing. My last set of tires that I bought from the Mandeville store, I tried to have them rotated, and balanced before I took a long road trip and they told me the soonest they could do it was next week and finally had it done when I got back from my trip. Since then I bought a new set of tires with the same Firestone package and 15,000 miles later and then on this past Wednesday I stopped in before the Memorial Day weekend road-trip and they told me again that they were to busy to rotate my tires that day and even tomorrow so I took it to a local tire store and they rotated my tires for me. Today i noticed there was a vibration on the right front tire after rotating all four tires yesterday and called the Mandeville Firestone and even offered to pay for wheel balancing before my weekend road trip and some lady sales rep tells me she couldn't get to it till next week and hung up on me. I bought and financed 3 sets of tire packages (over $ 3,000.) that included the rotation and balancing and it seems whenever I decided to take my vehicle in to rotate and balance they were always too busy. This store has never followed up on their promise. They sell every one their service and package deals but never follow through. Ive been happy with Firestone tires but the service is terrible. I will be needing a new set on my suburban in the next 6-7 months but I don't think I will be buying tires from this Firestone dealer ever again. read more

I have to say, this was not my first choice when it came to getting my car serviced! I had a bad experience here YEARS and YEARS ago, however, I wasn't going to NTB and my usual shop didn't have my tire in stock and I couldn't wait another day. These guys exceeded my expectations by miles! To run it down real quickly, I had recently done my own transmission fluid flush, oil change, spark plus, and serpentine belt, but my car had been wiggling and bumping while driving, so I knew I probably had an egg. I found what I thought was an egg and brought my car to NTB for a reasonably priced tire. I got the same brand I already had, and they replaced the one tire for me & rotated the others. Leaving their place I knew something still wasn't right. I checked a different tire, and sure enough what I thought was an egg on a whole different tire. WHY DIDNT NTB CHECK ALL OF MY TIRES WHILE ROTATING THEM?!?!? So I go to Firestone & they check it out. They tell me it's actually a faulty tire and the belt on the tire had slipped (this is usually an inside lump instead of the egg, which would be on the outer sidewall. GREAT, I had just bought another one of these crap tires! I told them I needed my A/C checked & alignment check to see if it had anything to do with the way my tires were wearing. They called me 4 times letting me know how the process was going and asking me a few questions. I LOVE that. I get so nervous leaving my car at a shop bc I know I'll probably end up with twice the bill, when I can fix most things myself....so I really appreciated all the calls. When I went to pick it up, they provided me with the alignment rack reading, showing where my tires had been at and what they were at after the alignment! I love seeing that they actually needed to work on it! He even came outside and showed me where another tire had 0 tread on it and needed replaced soon. Dustin at the desk was great and so helpful that I'll definitely be returning if I ever need tires again! They even left my cabin air filter out on my seat so I could change it myself easier! Had to pay for their "lifetime" alignment 3 times within the timeframe of within a year. They never got the alignment right and every time I came back since I paid for the "warranty" so they could fix their mistake they would charge me after the fact blaming it for something on the truck. Go to Phil Mereaux or tire world if you want actual quality alignments that don't need to be fixed 3 times under their "warranty" that you still pay full price for the alignment anyway. read more

Just left there a little while ago. I bought a set of tires online and had them sent there. Pretty cut and dry. Had them mounted & balanced. Price was exactly what the online listed price was. $68 plus tax. Test drove it on the interstate when I left and the balance was spot on. I had made an appointment for 9am and was back at the house by 10:15. Not bad. Like most tire places, if you catch them on a slow day or make an appointment you don't have to be there all day. The service here is bar none! I had an emergency A/C outage and went over in the rain at 6:45am. They weren't open, but ran over to open the door for me. I explained that I didn't have an appointment, but needed their help ASAP. He put me in the system right away and I was even able to get my car back the same day! Amazing! Went in for an oil change and they said I needed 2 new tires. I applied for the credit card and was approved so I got the tires I needed and I told them how my Goodyear tires were my new ones so they knew to leave those. They took my Goodyear tires and put my old ones on the front so I had a horrible, violent shake when driving over 50mph. Kept going back and finally they replaced my 2 other tires while also charging me. Spoke with the manager who admitted the store messed up and refunded me for 2 of the new tires that I ended up needing to get. Needless to say they will not be getting me back as a customer, the people in the store really did not try to help me and just seemed annoyed every time I tried to get answers. Free tire rotation because tires purchased at Firestone. ($20 value). Service was courteous, timely, and no sales pressure or upselling as reported by other YELP reviewers. Any suggestions for recommended services were simply suggested and presented as an information courtesy as in keeping with Volvo Service interval recommendations. Well my wife & I have decided to only use this place for the lifetime alignments & balance/rotations that we have already. Wife took her SUV in after getting a $200 quote over the phone. She brought it in & their "tech" took it for a test drive, after the drive they called her back and asked her what she wanted them to do because the "tech" couldn't tell where the problem was coming from. So she had them call me & I spoke with some supervisor or manager. I asked him what the issue was & he told me he had to speak with his tech & call me back. When he called back he said they could not tell which set of brakes were the issue but said we need to replace them all anyways, rotors & all. I asked for a quote & again he had to call me back. In the mean time I called a few local parts stores & got prices on the rotors. When firestone called me back they quoted me $123 per front rotor. The three parts stores I call were all under $65 each. Then I got the speech on how we need to have the brake fluid flushed $79. I told him to get it off the rack & I'll do the work myself. Then after my wife brought it home she had an invoice with all their "recommendations" which totaled over $2700. All of a sudden & never mentioned on the phone we need all new brake calipers. We also need over $200 worth of spark plugs (price includes installation) & $270 for plug wires. I feel sorry for people & I think especially women who might not have much of a mechanical background & trust these people to do them right. Oh and on a side note then last time I took my truck in to get a tire fixed & rotated I was told it would be done around 10 (had the truck there @ 730). At 1230 I told them to give me my keys back because I had things to do. It just so happened that when I said that I was told by the counter guy that they were just getting ready to pull my truck in.. I really don't wanna knock this place down, but meh...I've been to better places -- with that said, been to far worst, too. I just don't like the way these folks treat their customers. They're pretty caddy and disrespectful to (the majority of) them. In some ways I want to give them the benefit of the doubt because I've worked the front desk of my uncles Meineke Car Care a couple times through the years, and I can verify that some customers do walk in with huge chips on their shoulders before you even begin to help them. But as they say, the customer is always right and you need to bite your tongue when dealing with an unruly customer. I've been to this Firestone location twice. First time was because the battery in my rental car went bad and Enterprise told me to bring the car to this location for a battery replacement. Although the transaction of it went smoothly, even though the guy handling it was as aloof in nature as to come and I was forced to wait over two hours. A customer had a mental breakdown and burst out into an full verbal rant while I was there waiting. I didn't catch the whole story, in fact I walked in at the end of it. But the old man did forewarn all of us customers waiting to double check our bill. Something about they over charged him of $800+ for a repair that was suppose to only be $500. But like I said, I walked in at the end of this so I really can't say who was right, who was wrong, if it was intentional or if it was just a misunderstanding. But whatever it was about, the old man stormed out calling this place a "rip off and a scam" and the employees making fun of him after he left. Something I had found very unprofessional, especially in front of other customers. The second time here, just today, I came in for a tire repair, but apparently it couldn't be repaired because of how the nail was lodged in the tire (near the sidewall), so I had to buy a new tire. Now this is my biggest gripe about Firestone, Firestone in general -- my car, a brand spanking new one, has Hancook tires. I was hoping to get them to order the tire for me if they couldn't repair the damaged one. But being they don't have that particular brand in stock. Nope, they don't do that. Your choice is a series of Bridgestone and Firehawrk tires among a couple others. Both Walmart down the highway, and NTB around the corner would be happy to ordered Hancook's for me. But I don't trust Walmart, not to even change windshield wipers on my car, let alone have them change a tire. And NTB is like dealing with a bunch of crooked used car salesmen. Now of course the Nissan Dealership has the Hancook tires in stock (the dealership by the way was who recommended me to this location because although the dealership does do tire repairs, but they only do plugs, and it was strongly recommended that my tire to be patched instead and this place does patches), but the dealership wants nearly $200 for a new tire that was around $95 everywhere else if I was to buy a new tire. So in other words, I had to buy a different brand tire from here and so now I have mixed-matched tires on my brand new car. Nontrivial and petty, I know. But to me, with my OCD is looks a little funny. But anyway, the guy who initially served me was very friendly and helpful. But once the work was done and when it came time to pay my bill and collect my car, the other guy who served me was aloof, caddy and sorta ignored me. At one point I asked this same individual about the warranty on the tire and it seemed my spoken words just went in one ear and right out the other ear with him, him being too busy with gossiping with the other employee about some customer who's complaining about their car not being ready at a promised time. Seriously, it was like I was not even standing there right before him. So you can see, it's they way they treat and act with the customers that has me not wanting to give them a better rating. Slow, and long wait times? Yes. But from what I observed, especially on my last visit was because they only had two service technicians on staff. They're clearly understaffed. They need to hire more technicians due to the number of vehicles coming in for repairs, etc. And as for the actual service done on both my vehicle and that time I brought in a rental car, no problems nor issues there neither. When I declined, I was nearly pressured in to doing half of the work. Then when I called back 5 minutes later to tell them "nevermind," I was told by Seth that they had already started the work and it would have to be put back together with my old parts. They stole my grinder from an out of sight place in the backseat of my car. I know this because after my tire blew out on the interstate I remember placing my green Diamond Grind in the back under a blanket I have in my truck because I was using a purse that was too small to carry it around in. Two days later when I pick up my truck I briefly check the back for it but can't find it. Maybe it rolled over and it fell I thought to myself. I got home and took a closer look. I still can't find it. I even looked around my home knowing that I for sure left it in my truck. On top of that they wanted to charge me an $80 inspection fee because something was leaking. When I picked up my truck he said to bring it in another time IF I REALLY wanted them to look at it closer..... like okay, wtf? Why not just do it now if I'm willing to pay you the $80? His answer was basically because they didn't feel like it. I have gotten my tire changes about 4 times at this location and Abe at the Mandeville firestone ensured I will not ever go back or recommend their location or any firestone due to my recent experience and lack of good customer service. read more

They are crazy slow here and spend half the day looking for something to "repair" for example, they claimed I needed and oil change. The sad thing is I got an oil Change from them only 1,000 miles ago. But the kicker was when the guy Seth said my road hazard protection wouldn't cover my flat like they claimed because "my tire was beyond 25% worn". This place is a waste of time and money. So there's a Firestone only 3 miles from my house. But I chose to buy tires from this location (11 miles away) only cuz they had tires on sale and were the only one who had them in stock. About a year ago. Brought my truck in on Oct 3rd, 2016 to fix a tire leak. Told them it was passenger side in rear. 5 days later while on trip in Gatlinburg warning light comes on. Same tire is low. Get back home from trip look at receipt and it says they patched the driver side rear tire. WTF? Even if I may have said the wrong tire that was leaking don't you think if they inspected the perfectly fine tire they would have noticed it didn't have a leak and would indicate they were looking at the WRONG tire and patched a perfectly good tire for no reason??? Baffles my mind. So now I bring it back and they tell me there's a nail on inside of tire that can't be repaired and tire needs to be replaced at $180+!!! I'll pay for it. But when I go to pick it up they better deduct the $33 for the UNNECESSARY patch they put on a perfectly good tire. If not there's going to be hell read more

I had a very nice experience here. Bought tires that I am very pleased with. Staff was courteous and kept me informed the entire time. Yes, they do try to up-sell you on services but they are a business and not a charity. You don't have to purchase anything you don't want. The wait room is clean and the staff informed me of a couple of options if I didn't want to wait there. They took the time to install my tires correctly and you can't ask for more than that. Review for Firestone: I am giving this store one star because I can't give them ZERO which they deserve. Please stay with me...I was driving along, picked up a nail and got a flat tire. That is when I realized I didn't have my cell phone with me and was stranded. Two nice people stopped to help me air up my tire so I could make it to the Firestone store. I was upset but oh so thankful to get there. I walked in at 3:20 on Sunday, July 3rd and there was no one in the waiting area but they were working on cars in the garage. The man at the desk immediately looked up at the clock when I opened the door and shook his head before I even said what the problem was. I was alone, I was a stranded woman, I asked if they patched tires and he never loses THE LOOK on his face, the it's too bad lady we are out of here at five o'clock look. He says they can't do it because there is no way they can guarantee it will be done by closing and we are closed tomorrow! WHAT? Seriously, I barely got here on the tire! It's an emergency! I'm trying not to cry and ask, if there is another place nearby. He tells me yes but I've already heard they are booked solid too. Still no sympathy, no let me see if I can get someone to just look at it! NOTHING! I am a nice person. I am a good customer. I have been loyal to this store for ten years and used them for all of my tire and alignment needs. I have spent hours and thousands of dollars at this location! I have used this location and each time have received excellent service and pricing as well. I needed two tires for my Flex and did some comparison shopping. Walmart had the best price but would take two weeks to receive the tires I wanted. Goodyear had next day service but Firestone was $20 dollars per tire better. Also, these guys love cars. When I drove in one of the guys at the counter was so excited to see the old Subaru I drove up in and spent five or so minutes ooohing and ahhhhing about what a great make and model this was. I really felt like these guys enjoyed their work. From now on this is my car place! read more

This service center will consistently attempt to "upsell" you on additional services which, in my experience, the vehicle owner's manual doesn't even recommend. On my last visit to patch a tire with a nail in it, they claimed it was too close to the sidewall and could not be repaired. They recommended 4 new tires, a transmission flush which my manual recommends only if the vehicle is used in severe service (it's not, according to Toyota's definition of severe}, an alignment due to tire wear (I have a lifetime alignment with them and they had just done an alignment a few weeks earlier), "battery service" which Toyota doesn't mention at all, and a cooling system flush, the only item that actually is due, for a total of close to $1400.00! I took the vehicle down the street to Tire World and surprise, surprise, they fixed the tire for $21.00. Moreover, Firestone's $189.00 transmission flush would cost only $129 at Tire World. I recall one time they recommended a rear brake clean and adjust, again something that Toyota makes no mention of in its service manual. I told the rep that as I understood it, rear drum brakes self-adjust when you back up, so why pay for an adjustment? I don't recall his answer but I do recall the logic didn't make sense. The last time I had the brakes checked they wanted to do a $750 front brake job including new calipers because the existing caliper pins were rusted and seized. Luckily I had just read an article in Family Handyman regarding brake jobs. The article noted that a good repair shop can easily wire brush and grease caliper pins to make them serviceable. I took the vehicle down the street to Eric's Car Service and he did just that, with his bill coming in at about $390. The brakes are over two years old now and working great! Well, I could go on and on and on with other examples, but you get the idea. The one bright spot is that I have been happy with tires purchased here. They seem to wear and hold balance well. You just need to be very, very skeptical whenever they "recommend" a service. I'd recommend consulting your operator's manual and/or another repair shop. read more
