If you're looking for a spot along the river to relax and watch the walkers and joggers, this is the place. It's a casual bar with a standard hotel-style menu. I had a sandwich and a beer at the outdoor bar -- it was fine, nothing special. The hotel is about to begin a major renovation, and while it's a bit run down, the location makes it worth a visit. There's a sign along the Riverwalk inviting everyone up to this patio bar but they didn't want our business when we stopped by. Two of us waited patiently for one of the bartenders to free up. They both knew we were there but didn't acknowledge or greet us. When we were clearly next, one bartender snubbed my hello, cleaned the bar except for our spot, then walked away. We love barhopping on the Riverwalk and now know to keep walking past Rivers Edge. read more

We have eaten at this restaurant many times, and have thoroughly enjoyed it on every occasion. Very simple but great menu , and excellent views of the river from your table. Can't think of a time when we've had a bad meal, and have enjoyed breakfast / brunch as well as multiple dinners. Great place to celebrate anniversaries, events, birthdays, etc! The window seats are the best. You get an amamzing view of the Tampa Riverwalk while dining in the cool AC. The food was good and our server was really nice. The food took a long time to come out. After we ordered appetizer and entrees, we stpped outside to look at the 4th of July boat parade and walk over to pool bar for drinks. When we got back to our table inside the resturant, our appetizer still wasn't out. Once we got our appetizer (The Mac & Cheese) There was areas where they didnt fully mix in or melt the cheese sause. We were so hungry, we just moved it aside and still ate the rest of the mac and cheese which was really good. Because all of the food was so good, this is for sure a place I would come back to. First of all, we made a reservation, and it was a seat yourself restaurant. Why even have the option at that point? As for the service, our waitress was nice but not super attentive. The best thing was the environment, very nice view of the water. But the issues with the food is why this is a 1 star review. I got the smash burger and it was good. But my family got tacos that came out cold, and worst of all, we got a sandwich that was cold and undercooked. Just overall not a really well run place. read more

Restaurants located in the lobby of hotels can be a hit or miss... my first experience dining at River's Edge was a hit! My only two problems are: 1. The parking. It's valet or face the downtown madness to find street parking. 2. Charging an additional $4 to make an old fashioned to the glass of liquor I bought. Otherwise, I went for restaurant week and enjoyed the experience. The shrimp flatbread, the Amish chicken, the scallops and "key lime pie" (which is really a cheesecake with key lime sauce) we're personally faves. Equally as wonderful was our server, Ben. He was such a joy! He made recommendations, he checked in with our table, pleasant to talk to. Cute little hotel bar and seating that is outdoors right on the water at the Marriott downtown Tampa. Staff wasn't too friendly but times are different now. The bartender helped me get a dessert order and hot tea to go to take up to my room. Hot tea selection is very minimal and my cup of hot water was half full. No decaf teas on hand. I ordered the chocolate churros and they were ice cold and served with a weird lemon dipping sauce that didn't really go with the chocolate. Very odd. However, I would not totally skip this place as there were lots of tv showing the football game and the bar itself was pretty busy and people seemed to be having a good time with drinks and the game. This is a review over a few stays at the Sheraton Riverwalk (1st stay July 2022) & into Hotel Tampa Riverwalk (Aug 2023) For me, what it may lack appearance inside is forgotten as the sun melts into the horizon. The views are beautiful. Overlooking the River, the outdoor seating is surely a great place to grab a drink. I stumbled upon (and likely out of) the River's Edge (not to be confused with the place in Lutz.) during 1st stay at the Sheraton Riverwalk. The bar is located just off the lobby & is inviting. Tired and weary, wandered in to enjoy the view & drink my dinner. Alas, ''twas not meant to be. The guy working served me up a $15 Titos & $7 short pour. Poo Poo'ed his drink much to his dismay. Plus he gave me crap about Shadow (service dog). Shit 1st impression. Deuces. Next night - same & DDash brought me dinner. Pro-tip: leave & find another bar if a guy making a simple drink needs a jigger to measure. Like vodka and sprite simple! Pilar on the other hand is everything at that bar! Personality in spades and her acerbic wit always lands. She is great with conversation, you will never have to ask as she engages every guest. By last call - overflowing bar with patrons interacting like old friends. She hosts 1 hellava cocktail party! It would have been a 3 star rate if not for her! Pilar deserves a bonus - a raise - a monument erected in her honor! Oh the rooms - some needed TLC but moved to another anytime & beds were comfy. The patios are awesome - ask for the river side. Guest services changed a few times but no complaints. New ownership so maybe Reno complete. Protip: if you plan to enjoy a drink at the hotel, call to be sure Pilar hasn't left. We had a fabulous dinner tonight. My husband and I had the Grouper encrusted with crab, my daughter had the grilled shrimp. All of us loved our meals. The sauce on the grouper was one that my husband couldn't get enough of. I thought he may start licking the plate! My daughter enjoyed the grilled shrimp. They had good flavor and their size was respectable for the portion size. Our server was attentive and helpful, both giving meal recommendations that were on point, along with ideas for activities for tomorrow. The view of the river walk was also a plus, even at night. They just redid the inside of the hotel and it looks great! Very cozy! The restaurant is tasty, but a little pricey! The blackened fish tacos are not the norm. They always have a huge piece of fish in them. They have some slaw in there with a tasty sauce. The salad is plentiful! I snuck a few sweet potato fries. They weren't on their game this time. Horrible service, right of the gate. Stood for greater than10 minutes waiting to be greeted and/or seated. Wait staff repeatedly walked by me without acknowledging that I was standing there by the bar/restaurant entrance. No signs saying either "Wait to be Seated" or "Seat Yourself". Finally asked another patron that was leaving if it was seat yourself, and they smiled and shrugged, pointing to several open tables and said "help yourself I guess". I chose a seat by the window ( great view of the river) and continued my wait to be acknowledged. There was an approximately 15 minute wait from that point, before I was questioned on "do you want something?". I said that I would like breakfast, menu, and coffee. They finally engaged with me and provided coffee, a menus, and cleared the dirty dishes. He finally apologized, stating they only had two people running the restaurant, which I would have to confirm. Two servers to take orders, bus tables, and provide service to numerous tables appears to be grossly representative of poor management. These two were moving as fast and effectively as they could with number of patrons at the time I was there. Menu is short, but had a great representation of choices. I chose the build your own omlet. It had potential when it arrived, but it turned out to be only slightly warm and was tough, probable due to being under warming lights fir awhile. Had to ask for coffee refills, as servers appear to be completely overwhelmed. I have to say that the servers were pleasant and hard working. The above issues reflect poorly on the management. This is a Sunday brunch at a beautiful hotel that has everything needed to succeed, except for incompetent management and support. read more

Great restaurant and bar! I loved the bar area as it comes with a nice view of the river front and have the option of taking your drinks outside. The drinks were reasonably priced. My husband and our friend had a margarita that was nicely made. I ordered a caipirinha as I noticed they had the Leblon, the alcohol that's used to make the Brazilian drink, and it was good! However, I didn't like that they had a premix of the lime and sugar but I get the complexity of it, but it was still good and strong! We had concierge breakfast and it was delicious! Great scrambled eggs with cheese and cubed ham, toast, oatmeal, juice and coffee. I didn't like that the concierge room is very small, so those with huge families take up most of the table and it was very cramped. The host in the concierge breakfast area was very nice! Had a recent pleasure of visiting the hotel for a friend's wedding and came to the restaurant for lunch. Though forced valet was something that we did not really liked, it was a pleasant experience. The River's Edge restaurant was wonderful. Great staff and waitress. Food is also good. We had the calamari, turkey burger, and lobster mac-n-cheese, which the later 2 were delicious. We especially would like to recommend Kylie the waitress, who has greeted us with friendliness, attentiveness, and passion. She made sure that we had the greatest dinning experience by continued checking on our needs and asking if the food was up to our standards. Will definitely come back because of Kylie. I wanted a place that was nice, quiet and had a sunset view. That's what I got here. I brought my girlfriend here for dinner on her birthday weekend. We wanted a low key, romantic dinner with a good view. I made a reservation online for this place thinking it was gonna be busy. We left early because we knew parking wouldn't be easy and that was true. There was a convention in town this weekend so we parked in a garage a few blocks away. Valet parking was $20 I believe. When we walked in, the place was empty. A few people at the bar and a few people scattered about eating. We didn't even say we had a reservation. I reserved a window seat and didn't need it. We were placed right in the window and no one around us. Our server was nice and brought us waters immediately. I ordered a beer and my girlfriend ordered a sangria. The sangria was sweet and strong and had nice chunks of fruit in it. I ordered a burger for dinner and it was ok. It didn't stand out but it wasn't bad. The fries were decent though. My girlfriend ordered the cuban sandwich and she said it was good. The view was nice as the night went on and with the Comic Con convention in town, we people watched most of the evening. The restaurant is right on the Riverwalk which is convenient. We were able to order drinks to-go in plastic cups and took a walk to finish our evening. We had a very nice evening all in all. Solo dining on a Friday night was just what the doctor ordered. Treated myself to a steak dinner at this restaurant and was not disappointed. My server Sahara was so kind and friendly. We bonded over being mom's and she was happy I was able to enjoy some me time without having to share my food with my kids. I had a glass of red wine that paired well with my steak. I enjoyed the steak (I asked for medium temperature but got medium rare in my opinion). I liked the curly fries that came with it but the broccoli was too soggy for my taste. Next time I'll get the salad that comes with the meal instead of subbing it out for a vegetable. Typical hotel restaurant, not sure if I would stop in if I were not lodging at the Sheraton. The River's Edge Restaurant is part of Tampa Bay's Sheraton Hotel, and for me it was all about the Riverwalk experience. I googled what time sunset would occur, booked a table accordingly and was enchanted by the entertainment that followed: a tiki bar floated down the river, dogs of all shapes and sizes walked their owners, bike tires glowed in the dark, one-wheeled, hover-boarders whizzed by, joggers jogged, rowers sculled, families strolled as the nighttime river metamorphasized before our eyes. An added bonus, if you spend more than $30.00 at the restaurant, valet parking is free. Imagine that, for the price of a meal, my husband and I enjoyed free parking, dinner, excellent people watching, the twilight transformation of the Hillsborough River and a romantic stroll down one of the most unpretensious riverwalks. Food choices are limited but range from sandwiches and burgers to fillet mignon and salmon. Prices vary accordingly. One would expect outstanding fare at the Sheridan but this was not so in our experience. My husband thought his fillet was not the best cut and my Cuban sandwich lacked personality. There is a lovely outdoor bar if you want to skip the food thing and enjoy a cocktail. This is a gem of a location and should be bursting at the seams. There'll be no getting a window seat at prime time like we did last night when that happens. I'm kind of grateful that we got to experience it before it does. read more

Food is excellent, delivered hot to our boat at heir dock. nice transient spot to spend the night for free after your meal (no hookups). potato skins were very good, not grainy as is the usual. platter has nice assortment; large shrimp, large chicken fingers, good serving of onion rings, plenty of cheese in mozzarella sticks. Met some coworkers for lunch at River's Edge. There was a beautiful view of the river from our table. We sat inside because it had been raining. Unfortunately the patio was too wet to sit on. Our server, Edgar, was great. The Cesar salad was fresh and delicious. Had the Tampa Cuban and it was....edible. Don't order a side car. Apparently, they have their "own version". Dropped in for the first time today. I work downtown. Bottom line is awful food, with a side of "I don't care" from the server, smothered in inflation pricing. $17 for an appetizer of Filet Tips that were the worse thing I have eaten in more than a month. The server dropped them off and said "oh the kitchen just let me know we are out of the horseradish sauce these come with so here is some ranch dressing." When she picked up the plate she asked how it was "I said INTERESTING at best". She walked away...you should too. read more

Breakfast was awful. #1 I waited to be sat forever- never did a host or waitress say anything to me. So we sat ourselves - this is at 10 am (breakfast ends at 11). Breakfast buffet is 20$ and the toaster didn't work- barely got bread warm. Bacon and sausage was just a hair over room temperature and the texture of the sausage was gross- I'd guess it sat under a hot light for hours. I couldn't even bother serving myself the glop they called oatmeal. Never once did I see anyone stir food, check it's temp, replenish food or wipe down the filthy breakfast buffet. Oh- and though the web says their bar is open - they can't serve any booze because everything is locked up. So- we are at an upscale hotel - with at best like warm food- no where near the health code temp minimums. The two positives- bathrooms were clean and Dorcas, our very pleasant server was good at serving juice and water. But Id suggest- just skip this place. read more

This restaurant was recommended by coworkers and I'm new in Tampa so thought to give it a try with another coworker who hadn't been there before either. We walked in and the smell permeating the lobby and into the restaurant was absolutely horrible. It smelled like rotten lemon disinfectant. That smell rotten lemons put off plus stale cigarette smoke. It was a disturbance all through lunch. The food was okay and the view magnificent and I'd come back for that, however not if it smells as it did. We let our server know, who noted they'd relay it to the manager but didn't smell anything odd themselves. I walked by another day to go in and the smell was the same, so I turned around. You would think after complaints someone would fix the smell. Most nicer hotels have scenting in their lobbies to add to the experience so if this is Sheratons signature scent, I can't imagine why anyone would ever go here. If it's isn't, they should invest in some scenting and fresh air or they will continue to loose customers. read more
