The only negatives are a sur charge for credit cards and very uncomfortable seats (metal). Definitely opt for a high top or bar stool which are padded. It was such a nice day outside to sit out on the patio under an awning while watching the band. Had the best Shepherd Pie I ever had! It's so amazing! Great place for live music, however there is a band fee of $5 per person. The food is average at best with their limited sports bar menu. Wings and maybe salad are probably best. Irish stew was basically Irish potatoes with limited meat for $19. Burgers are $17.00 and are just okay. If you change the cheese you get charged a $1.00, if you want maynosise it's $.075. Extra pizza sauce on a pizza is $2.00. Another little cup of dressing is a $1.00. Really? When you spend $100 or more on each visit why all the extra petty fees? Only reason to go is the live music. We reserved a nice table under cover to enjoy the band, and found the menu to be pretty limited. Our server was there at first, but not good at following up with us. Beer glasses were empty for long periods of time, and it wasn't very busy. We ordered the mild jumbo wings and a supreme pizza. The wings were not jumbo, but had a decent flavor. The pizza crust was a little hard, but the flavor was good. At $24 for a pizza, it seemed a bit pricey. The atmosphere is fun and lively, with good service but that's about it. Besides that, expect subpar food at best and to be nickel and dimed, especially if sitting outside with the live band. You'll be told repeatedly that there is a $5 entertainment fee for sitting outside while the band is playing, and if you're paying with a card, expect a surprise credit/debit card transaction fee. Dined here after picking some friends up from the airport, and they were hungry and wanted something to eat and not fast food. So we tried three other restaurants in the Apollo Beach and Ruskin area but they were all closing or closed, and it was only 9pm. That's kinda early in my opinion but we had this option. We found a great table and we were greeted immediately by the bartender ( forgot his name ) but he was great during our entire experience. I had a smash burger with onion rings and my wife had the classic chicken sandwich. Our friends had the grouper sandwich and St Patrick poutine. The food was abundant, delicious and hot upon arrival to the table. Our friends had several cocktails and they said that they were made perfect. There's plenty of parking, good access getting in and out and the dress code is very casual, this place is more like a sports bar atmosphere. I'm not sure how much the bill was but I'm sure it was very much $$. This night which was a Thursday, the restaurant had a special of BOGO on the boneless wings. I've been to Salty's maybe 5-6 times. Sometimes just for a couple drinks, and sometimes to eat. Their food was always good, but it never made me crave it to think about wanting to go back for more. We came here for trivia on Tuesday (first time all 4 of us did Trivia here), and we all loved it! We won first place! Woot woot! So we will definitely be back again soon to use this gift card that we won. They have a new menu, which now includes pizza! I ordered the hand tossed carnivore pizza, and it was delicious! I really like their marinara sauce. Hubby got the Nashville Hot Chicken Sammy, which he liked. I actually liked it too even though I'm not a fan of those. For an appetizer, we got Irish Poutine, which was super tasty! I LOVED the corned beef on top, and cheese curds & gravy are always delicious on fries. Their shamrock fries are really good too. My friends got Philly Cheesesteaks which they said were good. One of my friends got the Hot Chocolate Float spiked w/ peppermint schnapps, which she really loved. I can't wait to try more of their food. It's been a few years since the last time I ate here. Looking forward to trying their smash burger & fish & chips. I am sad they no longer have corned beef & cabbage or grouper anymore. I'm sure it will make an appearance on one of their specials menu (HOPEFULLY!). Well it's a pub, a bar, a live music venue and restaurant. Glad we went in a slow day as parking is a little tricky and I can't imagine the place packed indoor and out. That being said the service was good, the margarita strong and no used tea today. Also several menu items unavailable as we understand supply chain issues. The Fish in the fish and chips was a huge piece of white fish. Very well done nice and light and crispy. The chips (fries) were just fries nothing special and the coleslaw was bland. The Ruben sandwich was very well done (half came home) and again the fries were just fries. Not sure what's up with Salty's tonight but the food was nasty! The Shamrock burger was well welll done and looked like it had been built by my 5yr olds Kindergarten class. The night I came for this meal it was a call ahead and I had to wait about 10min after arrival the place was packed. The gentleman bar tendering this evening as swamped but acknowledged me and finished a few folks ahead and then took my drink orders and I was able to pick up and enjoy at the bar. The seafood boil had shrimp, corn and potatoes very good deal. My second visit was to come in this evening 8:30, Monday for the Valentine's Day. Sat at the bar and was greeted but then the female bartender never came back and spend the rest of her time dancing and chatting with other patrons she had already. The waiters do their jobs and you pay the same price for applebee's. My experience: I walked in like a cowboy looking for my first meal of the day at around 4pm. I picked a seat out with some friends and got served immediately. We decided to get a piña colada shrimp appetizer and waters and a guinness beer. My friend claims the beer is exactly what you need after a long day. I got the burger and shamrock fries. The food was fresh, tasted of premium ingredients and came out quick. Super satisfied of the value because the food was very satiating, indicating that it was high in good fat. Went to the St Patrick's Day festivities at The Salty Shamrock Saturday night, and had the best cornbeef and cabbage I've ever had! Absolutely delicious! Cornbeef, cabbage, carrots, potatoes with a light sauce. Cooked perfectly and served hot. The group of people I was with ordered different things from the menu, and it was all delicious! Ample parking, fun time. 4 stars since the Irish band canceled and dj did not play Irish music. A little disappointing, but overall, a great evening! Highly recommend especially the food. read more

When we arrived at the salty Shamrock, there is ample parking and being disabled. I was very happy to see the tables are clean, empty how many label to get quick seating. We were greeted by a hostess with menus, and after a few minutes of Sarah Cameron. She was absolutely lovely and a lot of fun. We put our drink order in And our appetizers. Friendsgot the trashcan nachos chips lol and my wife and I got a huge soft pretzel with double beer cheese. The manager Age when I drink to the table and we had a great discussion but he was very open about the ovens in the back working properly to get the Giant pretzel. The trashcan just came first or my goodness what a huge amount. And then the pretzel came out. Nice and hot. Really hot delicious beer cheese. The drinks were wonderful and the staff couldn't be more pleasant. We had a great country band that was out of this world. Gorgeous night to sit out under the stars listen to the music drink and be happy. We did have a brief five minute drizzle of showers that passed us and said goodbye. The manager, Ogie/owner is absolutely hysterical with his people, skills and professionalism. Being a bar and restaurant on fisherman a lot of credit you made things ready for people. Make sure everybody was happy. The only comment I do have is the women's bathroom inside needs to be updated. and enlarged. They were 12 girls online we need to pee men's room is kind of empty so the woman were using the men's stall which was fine by me. Would highly recommend that their sanitation company bringing the trailer with six beautiful Porta potty is attached to it that has lighting with the Handicap van.. I had a problem here yesterday for st paddy's. My server was brandy, she was amazing. She informed me about all the specials. Unfortunately, I got the chicken tender platter and they were not fully cooked. It tasted very cold and rubber. They also charged me a dollar for an extra sauce which I thought was completely absurd. There were zero drink specials. I wanted to speak to a manager about this so I believe her name was Tery, she came over and was extremely rude. She barely acknowledged what I was saying or complaining about. She didn't care that I wasn't a happy guest. I will never be back as I felt this was extremely disrespectful and disappointing. We went to Salty Shamrock to enjoy a live band and a cold beer. We grabbed 2 Guinness from the bar then walked out to find a seat. There was an open table on the patio. We sat down with our beers. A waitress immediately came over and told us we couldn't sit there because we didn't order food. Thought this was a BAR! We were escorted off the patio like criminals. Rude and embarrassing. Determined to salvage our outing, we found seats at the bar. The table we were forced to leave remained EMPTY the entire time we were there. My black and tan was sad. No separation. Guess it's hard to serve a proper pint in a plastic cup. Overall not impressed. The only positive I can offer is that the bartenders were great. Attentive and friendly. We have lived here for two years and have passed this restaurant quite a few times going to or from somewhere and finally stopped to eat. It was a Friday evening, so we were prepared to go somewhere else if it was too busy. Fortunately, we were seated right away. The service was efficient but friendly. We had cocktails that were all good and arrived quickly. For an appetizer, we had the fried pickles that were thin strips rather than spears or nickles with a nice Southwest ranch. Then we tried the Irish specialties, Bangers & Mash with delicious stout gravy, fish and chips, and the St Patty's Poutine with shredded corned beef, cheese curds and more of the stout gravy over fries. We enjoyed all the food. Some people near us had the burgers which also looked good. My daughter used the restroom and said it was acceptable, but not good for a bar. If you live in the area or are just passing through, I would definitely say try the Salty Shamrock for some good bar food and great entertainment. So far we have been twice and have really enjoyed ourselves. My favorites are the 1pound Cajun peel and eat shrimp and the Celtic Eggrolls. Shrimp are always cooked perfectly and have a good spiced flavor. The Celtic Eggrolls are like the perfect Rubin in a wonton skin. My wife loves the chicken tenders and fries. Real chicken breast not processed chicken. The drinks are really good, (love the Mira Bay Margarita) and the live music is always great.
