Been going to Voodoo Brewing every Wednesday for Trivia with Jamie at 7pm. It is great fun with a good atmosphere. We usually order a pizza which is always great. The burgers look inviting as do many of their specials. Recommend the strawberry magic if you are into brews. Good service, friendly staff. Chris the owner makes this place! He is friendly, personable and passionate about what he does. He cares about his customers and what they think. I appreciated the time he took to go over the menu and the history of the restaurant, as well as some of his personal stories. The name may say brewery but it's more than that! It's food made in a scratch kitchen. We had the brisket sandwich which isn't on the menu and yet there it is! It had a great smoky flavor that went well with the pickled slaw. The fries are addictive especially with house made ranch. We also tried a burger which was good but a little overcooked for my tastes, my fault for not ordering it the way I like. The owner Chris put the World Cup game on for us to watch and we enjoyed the Von Trapp Hellas that was on tap! My first time here. Not impressed at all. Had yo ask for water 3 times. 1 beer, 1 cider, 1 tea and the nachos appetizer came to almost $45.00. One guy was handling about six tables and a few at the bar. Nice guy but very forgetful. In fact he ended up making our nachos as I'm sure he had forgot. Everything on the nachos was cold. We finally checked out Vodoo Brewing after hearing rave reviews, and the vibe did not disappoint. Great atmosphere on a rainy afternoon, Brandy behind the bar was an absolute standout- friendly, upbeat, and on top of everything. The beer list is excellent, with plenty of local options. They were out of scouts, but Good Vibes and Love Child were both delicious and spot-on. The food, though, missed the mark. We split the Steak Salad and Caprese Pizza. The salad came out with barely any greens (Brandy handled it gracefully), and the pizza was bland with a crust that just did not deliver. Bottom line, awesome service, great beer, fun spot for drinks and events but the kitchen needs some love before it becomes a go-to for lunch or dinner stop. read more

This was our first time here. Food was good. Service was NOT good. We sat at the bar, and the young lady helping us forgot to bring us drinks that we ordered. We also had to ask for food menus & silverware. I think she was probably new. Another person started helping us near the end, and he was MUCH BETTER than the first lady that helped us. This brewery has a large variety of guest beers, but they only had 3 of their own beers. I wish they offered more of their Voodoo Brewery beers. All of the food was good: Brussels sprouts w/ bacon, pub chips nachos, sweet heat pizza & cinnamon sugar homemade donuts. The other really bad thing we did not like about this place was that there were A LOT of kids running around INSIDE the restaurant! There were even little kids sitting at the bar! Yes, their parents were somewhere in the restaurant, but these kids should NOT be running around inside a restaurant. It's ok if they're running around outside. They had good live entertainment that night we were there. The food is worth coming back for, but we won't come back unless we have friends that wanted to go here. This has been a place we've wanted to check out for quite some time. I really don't know why it took so long? From the outside it may not look like much, but like a lot of things, looks can be deceiving. Inside the place really opens up. All seating is open with no booths. It really gives it a more casual look. The decor is quite eclectic with what appears to be custom artwork. There is seating outside as well. And it would appear that on cooler days they'd open up the 2 garage doors. We went on a Saturday night, so there was some live music. They also had a large TV with the game on. I did notice another TV inside but it wasn't on. Service was rather quick considering how busy they were. In fact, our server noticed that the person who had our area had not stopped by. Her remark was that she didn't want us to wait too long and offered to get our order. I was impressed by this. They had several beers on tap. I apologize for not having the menu. And they had some specialty cocktails. I got the cherry passionfruit mule. And my date got a guava beer. Both were very refreshing. Since the kids were with us our order was large. The girls got a grilled cheese sandwich on Texas Toast and some chicken stripe. Both orders came with fries. They do not have a kids menu but can make some reasonable changes. I ordered a non-menu item special which was a brisket sandwich on a hoagie roll with their coleslaw slaw and pickles and fries. Pretty tasty, but I think I would have liked to have a bit of BBQ sauce. The brisket had a nice smokiness to it, tender, and plenty of slices. My date had a chickpea veggie burger. Now that's something you don't find very often anywhere! It was served up with their housemade chips. I did try a bite of her burger. It was actually very good but probably not something I'd order. There were several other veggie options. The menu had several pizza choices, burgers, and salads. I had thought about getting their Philly but she got me on the brisket. Service was done just right. No hovering and just enough to let you know she was taking care of us. The place looks to be great for large crowds. I would imagine you'd be better off with calling ahead. Best thing about Voodoo was the service. Had the most pleasant and attentive server. Would come back just because of her. Beer was good and so was the food. Had the Lacto cooler sour and it was sour apple perfection. Very smooth and refreshing. We ordered a burger, wings and the pub nachos. Wings were OK but would not get again. Not a lot of heat and just average. The burger was great. Bacon was nice and crispy and a kick of blue cheese. The burger was cooked very well and this was a winner. The top of the pack was the nachos. They used the homemade chips and put pulled pork, bbq, cheese sauce and jalapeñoson top. Crunchy, cheesy and with a nice kick of BBQ. So I'm am so late at this review but it is well needed. For one this place has a nice set up . There is plenty of room and is family friendly. I was greeted upon entering and engaged with conversation throughout my time there. Nice music was being played while there. Let's get to the food. When I tell you finger licking good, it was just that ( shout out to the chef!!!) I ordered the fried corn ribs and loaded fries. It did not disappoint. Delicious! I will have to make sure to try more items on the menu. They have vendors that come out, and live music. This would definitely be a great hang out spot for family, friends or just to get away. Sat out on the patio, which is dog friendly. Casual vibe, had karaoke inside, but wasn't too loud. Our server was busy with the event going on inside, but made sure we had everything we needed. The pickle pizza was good, not too overpowering with the pesto base. Pretzel and wings were standard pub fare. The owner Chris made a point to stop by the table and introduce himself. The real highlight for me was the extensive list of beers on tap, they have a beer for every taste. Voodoo Brewery is new in the Valrico area. This trendy place offers up tasty beers and food in a no frills setting. My wife and I went here with some friends for dinner. A nearly 30 minute wait on a Friday night. Limited low-top tables contributed to this. Being open about a week now, you can tell the service routine is still being worked out but everyone was super friendly and welcoming. We have a two year old and they don't have their high chairs yet. The hostess who sat us said it's because they just opened a week ago. The chairs are also not the comfiest. I'm not wide but I couldn't sit all the way back due to the design of the chair. Brights lights and an open room with a high ceiling didn't give a cozy comfy feeling. It feels like sitting in a warehouse. The beer was good. My buddy and I got flights. I tried their light beer, a sour, an IPA and a brown ale. All were good with unique flavor profiles and reminded me of getting beer at a craft brewery. The sour was my favorite. The food was tasty and we liked their dedication to higher quality ingredients. I got the cheesesteak. My wife got the pickle pizza. My buddy got the poblano chicken tacos. The flavors were there. Seasoned well and at some points a little much. The house made chips were excellent but over seasoned with Cajun that lead to me not finishing them. $215 for dinner at the new brewery in town seemed a bit steep for me considering what we got. I'd go back again but $15 for a pretzel and $14 for 3 tacos with no side will have me considering other places first. read more

Food was ok... had a steak and cheese, just a tad burnt along with the fries. The bar tender was never smiling and didn't want to serve us since we were at an outdoor table. A new neighborhood gem. Don't let the old reviews scare you off, every new business needs time to work out the kinks and Voodoo's owner Chris is figuring it out. Nice, clean atmosphere, fantastic live music, good drinks and tasty food! Ask for Tyler! I'll caveat my review saying that our first time in was on a very busy Saturday night in the midst of Christmas party season. The place was BUSY, atleast 4 different company parties, no less than 50 checks open at once and people walking in all night, so seating was limited for 2-4 tops but we were sat right away at a community high top. Our initial server was not great. We sat atleast 10 minutes waiting for drinks that we could see at the bar and another 15 waiting to just place our food order. The live music was good or my husband would have left. I ended up asking another server, Tyler, for help as I thought our server was overwhelmed. Tyler was PHENOMENAL! This man was hosting, serving, running food, busing tables, in between taking care of his own tables and others. He never stopped moving, never complained and got us taken care of. What started out as a bit of a frustrating experience was completely turned around by this guy. So let's get to the food and the drinks. We ordered beers and the Pub Chip Nachos to start. I don't have any photos of the nachos because we ate them so fast! They were that good. The whole thing was perfectly cooked, beer cheese was warm, chips were crispy, pulled pork juicy and a good portion. For dinner, we got the Pear Dragon and the Honey Old Fashion specialty cocktails with the Bang Bang Shrimp Tacos which were also good, shrimp was a little overcooked but the flavor was there and again good portion. I ordered the Foodoo Burger with fries (after finding out the wings were sold out), it was cooked perfectly pink, melted cheese and Cajun ranch were a nice touch. The specialty cocktails menu was impressive and both drinks were really good. We're glad we ignored the reviews and came in. If you're worried about service due to old reviews, ask for Tyler or flag Chris down, hes out amongst his customers and checking tables often. What can I say? Absolutely approve of this place. New owner, Chris, has really done a great job and his flexibility with trying new dishes on the menu is much appreciated. Atmosphere: Super clean with an open kitchen concept. The inside has beautiful artwork and there are small tables and communal tables throughout. There's also seating outside and a decent size "yard" to let the kids play. Service: A+. Everyone is kind and accommodating. We came on opening day and really appreciate the transparency of our server, Tyler, who let us know that it would be a few for food. Food: Better than you average bar food. I wanted to try this place so gave it a shot. I honestly think the rating would have been higher if we arrived earlier. I was disappointed with the food. The server was nice and welcoming. The place was not busy but the server did inform that the kitchen was closing in about. 20 mins when we arrived. The food was cold and really felt like they just put together everything that was left over for the day. I ordered the corn appetizer, not sure if that is suppose to be cold. But it was cold and hard like it sat out all day. I also ordered the Katsu chicken, it was also cold and there was no rice so I was given an unbelievable amount of cabbage (which I didn't want- but wasn't asked). The nachos were cold. The pasta dish was warm. I think if I came at a different time the food experience would have been different. The service was nice, the place seems nice, great atmosphere. Sadly disappointing. We have been to the st Pete location and it was great. We live in seffner so we were excited to see a location in valrico. Our expectations should have been tempered. The service was mediocre at best. There was another girl working who looked Ike she was way more attentive. Our server completely ignored our 3rd when we wanted to order food. And then the food came out. The beer cheese was gross and lumpy and lukewarm. The pizza was charred so hard my husband and I couldn't taste anything but burnt. We were starving and didn't want crappy food to be remade, so we just took it and left. Only highlight was all beers seem to come in a pint glass. My girl and I came here for the first time and we were told no tables were available for atleast an hour because a large party was coming. No big deal but we were hungry so we decided to go elsewhere. As we were walking outside the hostess comes out after us and says a table is available. We go back inside. Another girl approached us and stated the table was not available and the wait was still gonna be over an hour. We explained what happened and the girl just had us come back in because a table was available and she said "no she was wrong a table is not available." I then asked if we could eat at the bar. My husband and I have our normal go to breweries and after driving one day we found Voodoo and had to try it. I would say it's not very family friendly and they don't have high chairs (which is fine, some breweries do and some don't) I just know we won't go there again with the whole fam lol. It was also salsa night so that turned out to be cool. The kids loved all the lights and music. Other than that the beer selection is 10/10 and I had to get a flight because I couldn't choose between all the beers! Such a good selection. We will have to go back for a date night. read more

Food was fairly bland. If I went back I'd probably stick to appetizers. Had to ask for salt & pepper, but thankfully most foods are easily fixed with a little seasoning. Didn't order any drinks. Side note, doesn't seem very friendly for elderly people or children. Chairs are pretty uncomfortable (metal) and I heard them tell a young family that they didn't have high chairs. Chris the owner was very pleasant and personally checked in and said hello. Wall art is fun and nice open lay out. I sat at the bar and the Bartenders were very friendly and attentive. My only complaint, maybe because I am short but the barstools weren't very confortable. I would have stayed longer if my legs weren't falling asleep. We stopped by after speaking with owner one day when closed and he was painting tables. The space is large with 2/3 high tops. We picked low top out of the sunsetting. We waited a bit for service and when she did show up told us she just got here. We started with a flight of seltzers and one amber and Wynonna Brown Ale and a pretzel. Our pretzel comes out and one seltzers is listed as available and on deck did not have so changed to Strawberry seltzer. She returned once again to say they were out of Wynonna Brown so changed to Tag and Release. She brought us Red Right Return as Tag and Release was out. The RRR was ok but not great. Our pretzel was good mustard also very good, we did not care for the beer cheese. I think because she came in and was pushed to serve tables without a list of available taps. The lack of communication was obvious. She was doing the best she could. The space has doors painted with colorful murals. The high tops are in rows and low tops are spread out. The sun set is an issue for many patrons, we saw several change tables. The low top chairs have weird sides and are a bit uncomfortable, would not enjoy sitting for along time. Short and simple review. This would be a 5 star if the prices weren't so steep. A black and blue burger was $18 and change with a side of chips... fries were $2 extra. Although it was delicious, our bill for 2 people with lunch and 2 drinks each was $80 before a tip. Other reviews about service seems unfair because this place just opened. My service was impeccable and even had the owner introduce himself and told us he would make anything that was wrong, right. Overall, would recommend. Just be prepared to spend money. read more

Stopped in for late snacktails with my team from work, the food was amazing. Cocktails are fabulous. We had a strawberry smash with whisky & a margarita, the purple one!!The owner, chef, and waitress provided excellent service and background about the restaurant. We started with the spicy crab bites and the nachos for appetizers, followed by pork tacos, a turkey blta sandwich, a bowl of hummus, and chicken poblano tacos. They even brought us their whiskey, & tequila to sample-then a little pork belly, followed by guava cream cheese empanadas.
