We were purchasing a boat and looking for trailer. My husband called all over Long Island. Riverhead Trailer was one of the first places he called. The price was $4,300 and they said they could not get us a trailer for two to three weeks. A friend recommended trying a place in Connecticut. They had what we needed for $3,300, and we were able to pick it up right away. The transaction was smooth. When my husband went to pick up the boat, he realized he needed a new ball mount. He stopped at Riverhead Trailer. The owner asked how much we paid for our trailer. He basically said our trailer was a piece of garbage, and he has trailers better than what we had for the same amount we paid. My husband said we called them first and told him what we were told. The owner said, "you did not speak to me." He said this in a nasty manner. Brushing off the attitude he just received, my husband asked the owner if he could bring the trailer he purchased in Connecticut to him for an adjustment. We really hoped to give this local business, business. The owner refused to help us because we did not buy the trailer at his store. The owner also said to my husband that people like him piss him off because they buy a $3,300 trailer from someone else and a $25 dollar part from him! My husband walked away dumbfounded! This is not a business we will ever visit again, and we do not recommend it to anyone. If this man wants his business to grow, he needs to remember that the people he comes in contact with will be the people who will make it thrive! I was trying to put zero stars but I was unable to. read more
