The greens are fast, likely due to the 94 degrees. There was a challenge with the 34 minutes it took to play the first hole due to the group in front of us were playing slowly. The Marshall was out to speak with them by the third hole. If you're a walker the course is relatively flat but I took 22,000 steps. The Beverage cart game is solid. Soft drinks and water with the other side for beer. The driver was very nice. The guys bathroom is clean and located near the cafe. The driving range is mats only on there are two practice putting greens. The staff is very nice and helpful. There is an indoor area for winter golf.

Played last week and enjoyed the day with old friends but the course was less than great. First of all, it is a 17 hole course right now. Number six is not a golf hole, it is a joke. The tee boxes, especially on the front side were in terrible condition. The may have a hard time recovering them with better weather. And, only about three holes on the course had markers up on the tee boxes. I understand it is early in the year, but that is really my gripe. They charged peak season prices and the course was far from peak season condition. I paid a senior rate of almost $60. I played this course for 80 bucks a month when I lived there and yes, that was with a cart. I'll go back, but I was not happy with my most recent experience. I will say that we were treated well by the staff.

Some have bare spots. Putts skip. The course looks tired. You expect better from a place with this history. The layout is still strong, but the conditions drag the whole experience down. The first is that the food stand wasn't open when we went there around 2pm on a Monday, but no worries, there was lots of food in the area. We ended up getting food nearby and coming back to finish our game. There's tons of picnic tables around, so they're probably cool with people packing a picnic. We will probably just plan on doing that in the future. Also, when we first showed up, there were TONS of kids, which was a little annoying. They were climbing all over the features and they were impatient with the groups ahead of them on the course. When we came back from grabbing food, around 5, it was way quieter. So my advice if you want to avoid the kids is to come around dinner time or maybe first thing in the morning. We think we accidentally showed up when kids had just gotten let out of school. I could see this place being super busy on the weekends. We will totally come back when we're looking for a cheap activity with friends. They have lights all around, I could see this being a super cute little date night activity too!

Spraying the ball everywhere. I finally concluded I needed some lessons from a pro to get me back on track. I found that pro at Old Mill, and his name is Gavin Eckert. He is truly one of the best teachers of golf I have ever worked with. He has a very positive demeanor, and I immediately started hitting the ball better. I spent $300 for the four lesson package, and it has been worth every penny of it! I'm hitting every club crisply and my short game has dramatically improved. I did the old guy thing and invested almost 1K in a new Ping Driver and a Taylor Made mini driver. Now I can actually hit them. Gavin is a great listener, and I believe he patterned his lessons for me based on his understanding of how I processed information. Now, that is a real talent. I am so thankful I met him, and I would urge anyone who is struggling like I was or simply want to improve your game to engage Gavin Eckert as your professional golf coach. Best wishes my friends! With the Wastach range so close it's like we're playing in the Alps! The fairways are wide Amd in great shape. Don't think you will walk this course. The climb from 8 to 9 alone should discourage that thought. The clubhouse and cart staffs are great people and helpful. I don't want this place to get busy but if you choose Old Mill you're going to love it.

I saw a Facebook event for a date night-various golf challenges, a little bit of instruction, dessert in your golf cart while watching the sun set over the mountains. Sounds perfect, right? Yeah, it pretty much was. When my wife and I arrived, we immediately felt out of our league. All the other couples were wearing golf-appropriate attire (Nike everywhere!) and practicing putting while we waited. We took a few eyebrow-raised glances, but were determined to have a good time. We were sitting in prime real estate-the shade-while we waited for instruction to begin our night of adventure. A few folks joined us, including one person whom we later learned to be one of the instructors, and started up some casual conversation. We found that each of the challenges was fun, but also led by professional golf instructors who were extremely patient and rather good at what they do. They recognized that we were newbies and gave us simple tips to get started. Everyone was very friendly, we did not feel like we were unwelcome at all. By the end of the night, my wife was asking about taking lessons. We had so much fun, the instructors were all so good and the course is just beautiful. What's not to love? We'll be back.

There are two things stopping this course from being great:…read more1) dry, dead-pan fairways that feel like hitting approach shots off of asphalt 2) bunkers look like they've been emptied and are now conprised of pebbles and compacted sand (or just filled with the cheapest unsifted sand available) and some bunkers even have grass growing in them. Overall, it's a nice course and 9 holes can be played in 2 hours walking/driving/or pushing a cart. The tee blocks are well maintained and the greens are fairly nice as well. Small pro shop and across the way is a cafe, so grab a sandwich or drink for your round! TIPS & TRICKS: * Grab some buddies and make a day out of it, the course is very close to the interstate so you can nab some lunch at one of the various restaurants close by.
