This is the most poorly managed office I have ever dealt with. My mother tried calling them for two days, and all we ever got was their voicemail system (and this was during their normal business hours per their voicemail system). We left them several messages, and never received a call back. We even tried their emergency system to no avail. We drove out to their office, and their doors were closed, AGAIN, this was during their NORMAL business hours per their voicemail system. If your insurance covers a different dental office in the area, I highly recommend you seek attention elsewhere. I've never left a google review before, but this is me seeing a flawed system, and speaking up! I chose this dentist through my insurance without looking at the reviews prior. I instantly regretted my decision when I spoke on the phone with Iris. She was rude during my 1st phone call to schedule an appointment for absolutely no reason. I was shocked at how she was speaking to me. She would make uncalled for comments through out the phone call making it seem that she was annoyed with everything I was saying. I haven't even visiting this dentist yet and I'm HAPPY I haven't after reading reviews. How is that lady still working there? Just spoke with the Office Manager and apparently ALL of these bad reviews about the front desk staff is because people miss their appointments and don't like to pay. I guess we are a bunch of irresponsible, appointment missing fools. It's not just about missed appointments, it's their attitude and organization in general. Their manners, and customer service etiquette. The front desk staff called me ONE TIME to confirm my appointment and it was less than 24 hours in advance. I wonder if I would've been charged. The rest of my appointments were never preceded with a call. As a matter of fact, I called to cancel an appointment and the first thing she said is that there is a $75 fee for not canceling prior to 24 hours. However, my appointment wasn't until the following week. She quickly jumped to the fee before we even talked about when it was scheduled for. So yes, I think it's fair to accuse them of being money hungry.. The dentist is a sweetheart however, but unfortunately the front line faces of this business give them a bad reputation. I moved to the city and canceled my appointment 2 MONTHS in advance. Had I received a confirmation call, I would've assured them again that I would not be attending. I intend on paying this fee and will, but in exchange for this review. It is a high price to pay for the way they handle business however they offered a $25 discount after a long, nerve wrecking conversation. However I am supposed to get a call back. Apparently they will "check their records." I cant wait to see if they will still honor the discount. My credit history and reputation is my priority; it is not about he money. October 18, 2018 **This dental office is for Dentists' who are starting out their career and need to pay off their student loans quick, they use cheap materials and charge as much as a high end dentist would charge. They are always looking to diagnose every paitent with at least one cavity turning into a root canal or crown because they intentionally left decay under the new filling to get more money. The dentist here has an incentive from the company for getting as many fillings, root canals, crowns ect. You wonder why the dentist is always changing here? Because the dentist has their loans paid off mostly now, and they have gained enough experience to move on to a better office that puts patient care first. This is the honest truth and everyone needs to know it.*** My experience goes as follows... Office will not call back for two days, after leaving Voicemail after voicemail. Finally, called the emergency line 2 times and was dumped straight into a voicemail box that hasn't even been set up. How unprofessional is this dental office. Also, my husband had to go to another office because his filling was not correctly done, they had left decay under the crappy filling. Resulting in, a 1500$ crown. He almost lost his tooth due to the decay, worse had to have a 1300$ root canal on top of the crown. The answer is, yes this office is very unprofessional. Putting profit before patient care. Scam artists; unknowledgeable dentist. Will never ever come here, if you're looking to maybe come to this office because there are some 4/5 stars don't waste your time or money. You should not be waiting around for the dentist or the staff to accommodate their needs. They essentially work for you, their patients. Do not ever go to this place. First, when I entered I was immediately asked how old I was because I wasn't allowed to be there "without a parent"... I am 27 years old. I understand I look young, and I get that comment quite often. However, the manner in which it was spoken, came off quite snide. I started filling out the paperwork as I was a new patient and was informed I needed to call my insurance to verify I was assigned to their office. Okay, no problem.. I give them a call myself and my insurance reassigned me to their office. I get off the phone and the receptionist asks when they're going to send the fax. I asked "what fax? You never told me you needed them to fax you anything"... I finally get off the phone and the receptionist is clearly annoyed and mentions that the doctor may only be able to do the X-rays as the next patient was on their way in. So I asked if they weren't going to see me and if I needed to reschedule. She told me it "was up to me" ... so already I'm questioning why they scheduled me for this time knowing I was a new patient, (mind you I did come in 15 minutes early to fill out the paperwork) and why all of a sudden they couldn't clean my teeth? I finally get taken back to see the doctor. She starts taking X-rays and the final two X-rays we're SO PAINFUL there were tears streaming down my face because she kept aggressively shoving the mouth piece into my mouth and telling me to bite down when the mouth piece was too big more my fricken mouth. She never introduced herself and was very aggressive while "cleaning" my teeth. I have NEVER in my entire life had someone make my gums bleed that much. And to make it even WORSE the "doctor" kept shoving the same two pieces of bloody gauze back into my mouth after setting them on my chest. This was the worst, most painful, and just overall absolutely disappointing experience. I left questioning whether or not the woman I saw was actually a doctor or not. The entire time she also kept telling me how much I needed a mouth guard at night. I was already aware I grind my teeth and I actually already have and wear a night guard, but I didn't mention that to her because I figured the one I had should probably be replaced anyways. She was trying so hard to sell me on the night guard when I had already agreed to get one that by the time my "cleaning" was over, something wasn't sitting right with me. When I went back to the receptionist she handed me a sheet of paper to sign for the night guard that originally said $645.. she crossed that off and said "but I'll take $145 off so only $500 and insurance doesn't cover any" ... it all didn't sit right and seemed to be a scam to get money. Do they always upcharge on the sheet so they can seem like they're giving a "discount"? If you're looking for a good quality dentist with people who will follow sanitary protocols and do not try to scam you, then avoid this place at all costs. When I choose this office they had 5 stars. I wouldn't give them 1! The office manager, Iris, and her refused to be named front end assistant are without a doubt the problem in the office. Numerous phone messages left UNHEARD, scheduling problems. I have a cracked filling, without pain yet very frustrating. Took a week and a half to get a 5pm appt. Raced in traffic to make it. Asked for a toothbrush to freshn up. They are out????!!!! Of course as a existing client, having played phone tag for days i was frustrated. The front end staff was condescending and rude. I waited for Iris to walk away and was sickened by the yelp and Google reviews! I asked the other lady if iris is the office manager? Yes she is! I asked if she saw the Google reviews? She said she did not see them and I could speak with Iris I told her I want to speak to the dentist directly. It became a game for her and Iris to block me from having any conversation with the dentist. That practice needs to know that being a former customer service manager and marketing executive- what people see up front and the initial phone calls they make will be the demise of their practice! Not to mention REVIEWS Iris spoke to me as if she was a principal asking me to come in her office in a demeaning manner. I told her no I wanted to wait until I talk to the dentist! So they refused me service!!! The bathroom door is filthy, the chairs haven't been cleaned, they have mouthwash in the bathroom with no cups!....No toothbrushes and horrible customer service. This has happened more than once. We call to make a appointment & they tell you they don't have anything for month's, then you make it & 2 day's before your appointment they call you & cancel it on ya, they say the Dr. isn't going to be in that day, SO why did you make it for that day. I like my dentist she does a good job but her staff don't know what they're doing. They need to be fired. This is the 4th time & we've only see her 2 or 3 times (family) our insurance doesn't offer anything closer to us, whats really BS. Time to get another insurance co. Bad dentist. They do not do good job cleaning teeth and they try to nickle and dime you. Many many many better places to go.

Firs the good: The dentist and hygenists are great, this cannot be stated enough. They're nice, gentle with your mouth, and are quick with their work. Now the bad: The reason this place gets only 2 stars is because of the front office staff. They mix up phone numbers, appointment dates, appointment times, and will argue with you if you call them out on it, say they fixed it, only for it all to happen again at the next appointment. They have even made appointments for when the dentist isn't there (why are they even open on those days?!) and then argue about that. I still go here because the dentist rocks, but dear god does the front office need changing. read more

Just visited them yesterday for a root canal (first one I've ever had done), and they were wonderful! Everything was totally painless! (I didnt even feel the numbing shot!) Their new location is great, the office is very nice, clean and new, and the entire staff is excellent. They kept checking with me to make sure I was totally comfortable through the whole thing (which didnt take very long, I might add.) No one ever likes needing to go to the dentist, but I have to say, going there has rid me of any anxiety I ever had about dental visits! :) read more

Unprofessional bunch I have to agree with the 2 other one star review. I asked for a receipt over the phone and the receptionist said she would email me and mail me as well. I called again an hour later to confirm they emailed me the receipt and got on the phone with this other receptionist and she spoke with a condescending tone "we don't send emails." I paid almost $900 for a crown for my son that fell out in 45 days and all they were worried about is collecting a $30 fee owed for a missed appointment for one of my other sons. Dr Hafeez was great and I liked her very much. However, the front desk people are truly awful. Rude, disrespectful, and chaotic. They would forget to log appts I made, I show up for my visit, and it wasn't on the schedule! I missed one appointment and Iris tells me I will be charged $60. I lost my temper, which is highly unusual for me, but her extreme beligerance and rudeness were unacceptable, especially after I had been graceful several times for their mistakes. I changed dentists and never returned, nor will my husband or children. I have never been treated so badly for no reason at all. I hated to leave the doctor but the staff are the ones you have to deal with most of all. I can't believe the reviews from 2013. Have these yucky people really worked there for years? I went here to get my wisdom teeth pulled today. The entire staff was very unprofessional and rude. Especially the front end and billing/insurance lady. When I saw the doctor on my first visit he seemed very nice and gentle which is why I looked past the other staff members to begin with. Today he was the polar opposite. He was very condescending. My only positive feedback I can give was it went very fast and the dental hygienist woman who assisted the doctor was wonderful and caring. read more

What a dirty, unfriendly, unprofessional bunch of con artists. They overcharge what the insurance will pay just to pad their pockets, the staff is luke warm at best, (almost aggressive and certainly demeaning). I waited 30 minutes for the staff to finish their lunch before they assisted me, (yes, the ENTIRE staff). After being checked in, it took 2 minutes to take two x-rays, (they billed insurance for full mouth, when they took two slides of ONE tooth). I was there for a cracked tooth that needed to be pulled, and when Dr. Patel looked at the tooth, without the x-rays, she told me she likely couldnt pull it because it would break and the peri wasnt in that day to assist with a surgical removal. After seeing the x-rays she told me..."well, we can take our chances, it isnt like i've never pulled a tooth before". Nothing like filling me with confidence in her ability. I said to go ahead with the procedure and waited nervously in the room for 30 minutes with NOTHING done. After deciding to NOT get the procedure done, I exited the room to leave (assuming the doctor was with another patient) and as I was leaving found the doctor in her office reading a book while i was waiting alone, without anything happening in the exam room. First, I must give credit that the Doctors here are great. The Oral Surgeon is friendly and does a good job. The bad rating would be because of the Front End staff is very rude and very condescending. They make absurd and unnecessary sarcastic comments. The service is bad, inefficient and very rude. It occurs to me this is a scam that they xray your teeth and invent cavities so they can upcharge you for add on work not covered by your insurance. RUN FROM THIS POOR EXCUSE FOR A DENTAL OFFICE! Went in for evaluation of a gum lesion and was told by extremely rude receptionist " we only bill dental insurance, not medical" so I had to file it. First dentist who saw me did not bother to read the file I had filled out and asked me to explain what was wrong. He claimed the office "had no specimen jars that day" so I had to come back tomorrow. What an excuse to get two office visit billings out of my insurance company! I went back despite my ill feelings about this office. The only redeeming feature of this practice was the surgeon who performed the removal the next day. He was professional and answered all my questions in contrast to his uncommunicative fellow dentist who's apathy really showed when he told me he was leaving for vacation. The dental assistant who accompanied the decent surgeon had to scramble around to find ordinary supplies for the room despite the fact she told me the office had been open for six months. She seemed to do the bare minimum her job required. When I left I asked for a bill to determine the charges due. I paid my percentage due and left and filed the rest with my insurance. The same bill was later mailed to me WITH AN ADDITIONAL CHARGE OF$97. When I called to protest this unknown charge, the receptionist refused to connect me with the bookkeeper and gave me well rehearsed excuses on the charge. I alerted my insurance company. I was told they would test the lesion and give me a report but "I had to come back to get the results". I refused because it was obvious to me they were trying to get more billing dollars out of me. No other office I have ever dealt with required me to return just to get a test result. I told them to call me with the result and THEY DID NOT BOTHER. I called them a week later and got it by speaking to the dentist. I found out later they did not give the result to my insurance company despite the fact that they billed them for it. This of course resulted in a delay in payment which caused me to spend time on the phone with my insurance company. My experience here was incredibly positive. I haven't been to a dentist in over 3 years, and I was afraid that I would be scolded, but they didn't make a big deal of it whatsoever--they were just glad I was there! Dr. Jatoi took excellent care of me and even complimented me on how well I have been maintaining my oral hygiene. He also made me feel like I had choices, and he educated me on those different choices without judgment, which I loved. I would highly recommend Riverbend Dentistry. read more
