Everything seemed to go fine and I really appreciated the care that Dr. Trinh showed me. So when I started having extreme pain in the same place, I went back to Renovo. I got Dr. Wong. Nothing visible on the x-ray, so he decided I must just have some discomfort from my crown, which he promptly pulled off. (Btw - the pain was way higher than my gumline). When my response was near to tears instead of relief, he seemed perplexed. He took me to the 360 x-ray machine, which showed a big abscess in the same root that had been retreated by Trinh. Wong retreated it (again) with apologies that I had to go back to the dentist and pay for a new crown to replace the one he'd unnecessarily removed. Both Dr. Trinh and Dr. Wong are pretty likeable guys, so I was willing to chalk that up to human error. Stuff happens, I guess. But then. I was sent back to Renovo by the VA to address a tooth that was so infected, it was coming out of the side of my gums. Dr. O'Hara told me the tooth was likely cracked through and needed to be pulled. I'd been in pain for months and thought I was finally in a place where I could get relief. But Dr. O'Hara got demonstrably mad at me when I asked if they could pull the tooth. It turned into a weird drama that I don't fully understand. (They seemed to have a lot of issues with working with the VA.) They told me they do not pull teeth unless they also get to be the ones to put in the implant. In the end, Dr. Trinh walked in, pulled the tooth and walked out. I had to call my dentist to ask for after-care instructions. Such a bummer. I really wanted to love this place. But I don't recommend them. At this point, I can't. I can get past the rude receptionist in Schaumburg (the Elgin one is great), but the quality of care is not great. Endodontists are usually awesome problem solvers. Unfortunately, these guys have caused me more problems than they've solved.

If she had mentioned it like ALL other providers I have EVER been to on the day of the appointment then I would have certainly told him to cancel, pay the fee, and leave. When I called back to ask why this wasn't mentioned her response was "it's not my job to repeat everything over and over again". So basic customer service and making sure your customers are informed is not your job. Then she lies and says that 90% of oral surgeons are out of network. Odd that my other 3 children and husband had no problem finding one that was. My son was referred to this place and has now learned a tough lesson... a $4k lesson.

I also like if your next appointment is down the road the staff sends you reminders followed by a phone call. Last is there is a schedule change due to a cancellation you might be one of the clients who maybe be able to fill in the early slot. This happened to me several times in the past few years. As to urgent needs the office is very accommodating like a crack tooth or sudden pain. I highly recommend this dental office.

Since they know how to treat young children, my son has never known fear whenever going to the dentist. Even at his age now, he still misses rummaging through their toy box at the end of his visits, to leave with some little bauble as his prize. All of us have experienced nothing but the utmost knowledgeable, professional, compassionate, and friendly care. Although there have been many opportunities to do procedures that would have greatly enhanced their profit margin, they have always spared us unnecessary dental work, and have gone out of their way to preserve and improve our teeth and gums. One of the dentists on staff even worked on an unusual dental problem I had on her own time and free of charge. The dental hygienists here, most notably, Jill, are absolutely top-notch. They are thorough, knowledgeable, very friendly, and put you at ease, while finding the best ways to minimize pain and discomfort. The reception and office staff are also the best, always remembering us with a smile. It almost feels like visiting with family when we go there!
