I decided to move my dental care to Gentle Dental, after my wife and daughter started receiving care 2021, after it was determined by my previous dentist that I needed further orthodontic care. So far they have expertly provided cleaning, orthodontic, and other services, such as mouth guards. The office staff are friendly and professional. The office and building is modern and well kept. As a bonus, Starbucks and Dunkin Donuts are next door, if one wants a beverage after receiving care. Overall, I would highly recommend this service. read more

Jasmine is an incompetent office manager and fails to take responsibility for letting the office's insurance registration lapse for patient's using Aetna. Instead of taking ownership, she tried to blame everyone else, including me as the patient. I had this office as my primary provider and that was removed when the office did not renew their registration, or whatever is required. She tried to blame me stating this would not have happened if I had selected them as the primary provider, but I did that months ago and this was removed when the office became unregistered in Aetna's portal. Then she tried to blame Aetna and I'm caught in the middle. None of this was known by me until the day before my appointment. Am I the only patient using this provider? Why was this last minute? I scheduled this appointment 4-5 months ago during the busiest time of the year for me during the only time I could go for the next few months. Instead, Jasmine just canceled the appointment without my approval instead of trying to find a common sense solution. I was then given the option to pay out of pocket or try to get reimbursed later by Aetna. The office should just defer the payment and take the risk instead of me considering that I didn't do anything to cause this chaos. She made me call Aetna to try and sort all this out and essentially wasted a few hours of my day while I'm trying to work. Now I have no appointment after taking off this afternoon previously. I must find a whole new dentist because of how poorly she handled this situation. I would never go back to this office simply because of this encounter. Now, I have to start all over with a new dentist just when I was finally on the right path. Thanks, Jasmine for all of my time you wasted and caused unnecessary chaos for me. I've been going to Dr. Niro for many years. A few yrs ago I took a medication prescribed by a hospital for something unrelated to dentistry. The medication caused lots of dental and bone problems. So I have had extensive work done to restore my teeth from Dr. Niro. Dr. Niro and her great staff always ensure that there is no pain during the procedures. She is great at what she does and discusses options with you before she starts. I get compliments on my teeth all the time now and I have no pain. I recommend Dr. Niro. read more

Had a tooth crack and was in pain and needed to see the dentist asap. Called at 8am on a Friday and the answering service took the call. I left a message with the service for someone to call me and no one did....All DAY! The office says they are open on Fridays from 8-5. I called back throughout the day and the answering service was still answering the phone. Not sure where anyone in the office was?!? Why didn't I get a returned call? Terrible customer service. Based on recommendations of several of my friends I was referred to this office. Dr. Niro did a fabulous job for all my dental needs. Dr. Steve Kraemer was extremely unprofessional. I was waiting for him in an adjacent room after the hygenist had taken my x-rays, and I heard him telling another patient that she had ''too many problems'' and he didn't have time to help her and she would need to reschedule. It made me feel extremely uncomfortable as I was a sitting duck in the next room. Also, when he looked at my teeth and poked at my gums, I could tell that they started to bleed, but he left the room and did not give me water to spit or rinse my mouth. I felt as though he was unattentive, rude, and unprofessional. Overall - I would not go back, and I immediately started looking for another dentist. All of my life I've been totally afraid of the dentist. I hate the smells, the sounds, the way my mouth feels with any procedures. Dr. Niro and the awesome hygienists have helped me overcome all that. Dr. Niro makes sure to ask me how I'm doing often, makes sure that I am comfortable as possible. The office uses state of the art tools and machines, and I feel as though I'm getting the best care possible. I love Mike the receptionist too, he's always so nice! These people are giving away gifts for people who write good reviews for them. They're uncaring with mediocre skills. I did 4 root canals at this location and for a year I was still feeling pain on one side. I ended up seeing an endodontist where I finally realized the material they had used was low quality and it had caused infection. Fortunately the second specialist was so professional and was able to save the 2 infected teeth but it took another year for them to heal. Even the crown they had put was bad. And last but not the least, they had misled me about the insurance and even overcharged me. I found out by calling the insurance which left them with no choice but to refund me. read more

After spending nearly 7 thousand dollars over the course of a year and a half, I have nothing but negative things to say about this husband-wife dental team. They are truly the assembly line of dentistry. After 3 years I had 2 root canals fail. The dentist had missed an MB2 canal. This caused great pain and discomfort. I went I will back to the dentist after getting a full head x-ray. This SLIMY scumbag sat in his chair and told me there IS NO Missed canal. All I wanted him to do was cover the cost of the retreatment. I also DID NOT want him to touch me. He flat refused and gave me the runaround. I ended up reporting them to the BBB and the ILLINOIS professional licensing organization. To make matters worse my wife was seeing him at the same time. She also has dental work done that needed to be fixed at a later date. We stopped seeing this dentist when he gave my wife a proposed plan of treatment that would cost nearly 10,000 dollars. He must have just seen dollars when we walked in the door or something because the next dentist flat out told us... This guy is taking you for a ride. It only ended up costing us 1200 to fix my wife's teeth. I am in the process of putting up a website detailing EVERYTHING that occurred with photos and x-rays. I would suggest looking at the names of the other reviewers on here. You will see family and co-workers posting positive reviews. I will forever warn people about this shady dental practice. Worst cleaning I have ever gotten! The doctor drilled a hole between two teeth during the cleaning now I have a big gap where food gets stuck. She also made a small chip on my front bottom tooth. I don't understand how a doctor can be so bad doing something dental hygienist normally do. I have not gotten a cleaning for a year because of this. read more

I also don't see why there are bad reviews. I am with Dr. Niro and she is great. Very nice, honest, and seems to know what she is doing. I have been in the office at least 6 times for work over the last 2.5 years. Dentistry has been great. They make you feel very comfortable. The only complaint is the plastic over the dentist chairs. They should really remove the plastic and let the chairs breath. I would recommend. read more

Going to this office was a shot in the dark because I had a bridge fall out. when I went to the dr who installed the bridge I found that he was no longer there and after a couple of phone calls I found out that he went to Utah. NOT GOOD! I looked up Dr's in my plan and found Gentle Dental. I was a Walk in no appointment un announced and they said they can see me if I can wait and I did and Dr Niro saw me and was able to asses the bridge and explain to me the shoty work that was done by the other dentist. She glued it back in and scheduled me in to come back fast because she moved her schedule to help me in my situation. Long story short she remade the bridge and installed it. I like her work and the hygienist (Bonny and Gia) and I told her not to leave town like the last Dentist. My plans were to have her replace another bridge that I have but with my luck her office as of next year will not take my insurance :( . I am going to try and do what I can to stay . I would like to start off by saying my initial experience here wasn't bad. In fact, I liked it so much that I even recommended my friends and family to this practice. The issue I had was specifically with a receptionist (not certain if she is still there) and with an emergency appointment. This person scheduled me for appointments, cancelling and rescheduling me at the last minute. It started going downhill when I showed up to my appointments and no one was there. Once there was a cable person there re-routing lines and saying they were closed for the evening. I was surprised since I hadn't even received a phone call telling me not to come in or even attempting to re-schedule me. At my next six-month checkup, I had a filling. I started getting sharp pains on one-side of my mouth and it persisted for two days before I called the dental office and explained my urgent issue. The receptionist said to come in the next morning and I did. Dr. Niro confirmed that the filling needed to be replaced. She told me to go see the receptionist to make an appointment to come back. I asked why this couldn't be fixed on the spot? I took time off from work, came in to see her and was in A LOT of pain. She said she had others waiting and they were double-booked just to see me. So why see me if they couldn't fix the issue that day? The receptionist couldn't get me in for an EMERGENCY appointment for over a week! At this point, I should have gone to see another dentist, one who could fix the problem that day, but I thought, I have a relationship with this dentist and and I will just wait. Plus, since this was her mistake, she had to fix this for no extra charge. Overall, their customer service is not where it should be. Since this experience, I have found a great dentist with fantastic customer service. They don't even make me fill out my own appointment cards! read more

If your considering going here don't unless you want to be taken to the bank and over charged 3 times more then other dentist. I was given cost of $4,400 it would take for a procedure that I knew did not sound right as I had insurance. When I called my insurance the cost should have been $600. When confronting the the manager whom is the brother of the dentist he flat out said the insurance was wrong they did not give the right figure. After arguing with the brother whom swears at you and is most rude person I ever met I was told by him not to come back. He also keeps sending us bills for missed appointment. what a joke!! At the time I had a bad tooth infection and was told to find another dentist when they already started to treat it. Whom does something like this? later we find out from our insurance that work they have done on other family members were also over charged and we paid that out of pocket when it was paid by insurance. So when this is complete they will be getting a bill much higher then they think there getting for a missed appointment that was cancelled the day before because of illness. Don't be fooled by niceness because the movement you question a bill or have a problem your treated like poo. I always hear the manager (Brother) arguing and yelling at staff in front of patients. Thats a big no no. I did get my tooth fixed for $527 which was close to what the insurance said it would be. One of there staff had left there and is working at another office were I went and she told me how bad it was at this dentistry and how bad the brother is. Last read the good reviews but don't believe them there lies. one of the five star reviews says they went there 2 weeks ago at that time and wrote this perfect review and the best part is she new all the staff by name and how good they all were at what they do. C'mon Really? I gone there for years and could not tell you anyones name but the dentist and one other person but this patient new everyone in two weeks which is maybe 2 appointments? Dr. Niro really takes pride in her work. I'd been coming to this office as well as my family for close to 8 years now. I really appreciate that Dr. Niro takes her time after each check up to show me on Xrays what did she find. She spends time consulting with the patient and setting up priorities, what should be done first. I have very sensitive teeth, a lot of other small issues too, and she always patiently listens to my concerns and trying to resolve them. Qualified staff too. Those girls know what they are doing.
