Excellent Care! After years of fear going to the dentist I was given a recommendation to go to Dr Jess at the Toothery. I've been going to The Toothery for many years now and am no longer afraid of painful dental work or being taken advantage of. I went for the first time today and I was very impressed with both the office and the staff. The office is beautiful; very well designed and aesthetically pleasing. Dr. Jess is extremely friendly and helpful, and keeps you informed of everything she is doing/thinking of doing throughout the appointment. Her assistant was also very friendly and did the impressions very professionally. The only drawbacks were the lack of a bib to catch the bits from the impressions, the lack of a water gun and bowl to rinse after the impressions right from the chair and the lack of choices to get a CT scan for the jaw images needed for implants. With no bib I ended up with pieces of impression material all over my clothes from picking it out of my mouth. To rinse I had to get up and go to a sink in the aisle where anyone could be walking by. Didn't offer any privacy for something as private as rinsing and spitting. I'm not big on spitting in public. :-) To get the CT I have to go through the company they use, which would have been fine except they don't take insurance so I have to pay cash for it and submit it to my insurance on my own. That really didn't sit well with me. However, I can still say my overall impressions were very positive and I will definitely be going back. She has me excited about what she may be able to do to set me up with something so I can finally eat again! Besides, who can resist their service dog Cole? What a sweetheart! read more

Took me several months to find a new dentist in the area. After searching and reading several yelp reviews I finally settled on the Toothery. It satisfied all my expectations and more. The staff is extremely friendly and makes you feel very comfortable from your first contact on the phone to your exit of your appointment. The dental hygienist Donna was extremely efficient, conscientious and knowledgeable and when I met Dr. Bertoglio I was blown away by her personality, knowledge and expertise. After going to the same dentist for almost 30 years in the past this far exceeds anything I have ever been to before. I will start out with an initial very satisfied, but the relationship went South when they changed insurance providers. My two daughters and I went there for years and they did a lot of work for me, crowns and pulling a tooth. Very satisfied. When they changed insurance providers they mentioned they would still try and get it approved and when we would leave after a procedure, they would say we will submit and see. So, sometimes it went through and all good and sometimes it wouldn't, and they would bill us and we would pay it. Towards the end they claimed we did not pay our bills but could never show us that we had a balance and they fired us as a client, probably because they were tired of dealing with our insurance. Not treated very fair in my opinion. The biggest thing unrelated to this was my daughter who was 10 at the time needed a filling and Dr. Jess was going to do it and had to administer a shot and my daughter was very afraid. After a few minutes of the Doctor trying and my daughter crying, Dr. Jess got very upset and frustrated and commented on how she was acting like a baby and stormed out of her area, very unprofessional. I saw The Toothery when I was eating at a restaurant nearby and decided to check out their website. I saw they had great reviews and they even had comfort dogs, so I decided to make an appointment. All of the staff that I came in contact with were so friendly and welcoming. Donna was my dental hygienist and she was amazing. She explained everything as she went along and made me feel so comfortable. Dr. Bertoglio was so personable and superb as well! By far the most horrific dentistry office in the world. About 2 weeks prior I got my cavity filled and drilled and I realized my bite was off so went back for an appointment for her to tell me my bite is off but she can't really fix it after she had tried once but was unsuccessful. I go in about a week later because it's bothering me and giving me horrific headaches and she proceeds to tell me "GRAHAM I can't do it anymore I'm not doing it" I am the patient and if I KNOW something is wrong and I cannot bite down you need to at least try to fix it as it is your job to do. She then gets mad and yells then proceeds to I kid you not hit me and hold me down in the chair and just continue to yell at me. I get angry and want to leave as I should've. I'm there for a bite adjustment and another cavity filling so she comes back to give me a shot of numbing stuff in my gums, she numbs me walks away for 10 minutes then comes back to tell me we are going to reschedule, so I leave with a horrible bite and a numb mouth. So I walked in the dentist office to get my cavity filled and bite fixed. I left with a numb mouth, no work done, and a red chest from where she hit me and held me down. NEVER go to this dentist office unless you want to ruin your teeth. read more

Just got a call stating all my appointments cancelled. Due to the issues I was having it's best to go elsewhere. The now full time receptionist Jennifer is rude, condescending and charges you for items that you either didn't have or were charged with before. It all started out with me needing to get a new cap. It was made by the machine and I did not like it because it did not match my other teeth color. I had Dr. Jessica remove it and she put a temporary on it and we were going to have the factory make it for me since I was not happy. Now keep in mind I was charged for this even though I no longer had it. I was just in there last week because my temporary cap broke and she took it upon herself to make another cap by the machine which actually broke inside my mouth when she put it in. She then ended up putting a temporary one on which the color does not match and the last one did. Jennifer the receptionist charged me for two caps on my bill and told me that even though it broke it should be charged. I told her I disagreed and to talk with the doctor since she did not ask me if ok to charge me for another one. After discussing with her the next day she agreed that she overcharged me. I made another appointment to have another temporary made that was a better color match to my teeth. I was willing to pay for it even though I had just paid for another temporary. I did call Monday to have a filling added to the appointment I had today. No discussions were made about me not coming in today because of the issues. I didn't get a call until an hour and a half before my appointment by Jennifer telling me not to come in because they've canceled all my appointments. As a customer, you should be happy with the work done especially with the price that's involved in dental work. To cancel all my appointments just because I am particular is insane. They did write off any balance I owed and if they had not I would've filed a better business bureau report. It's too bad because Dr. Jessica is a good dentist but I feel that if you are going to have a receptionist like Jennifer, you are going to lose a lot of business. read more

When it comes to my mouth, I am protective. I have extremely sensitive teeth and therefore, having work done can oftentimes be a daunting task. However, Dr. Bertoglio has opened my eyes to the amazing world of dental work through her incredible kindness, patience and gentleness. First off, it is important for you to realize that The Toothery is not just a dentist office. It is a calming center. That may sound strange, but the interior of this office is nothing like your typical dental office. A beautiful stone path leads you up to the gorgeous front desk which is accompanied by beautiful and petite chandeliers and a very large and relaxing waterfall which was actually made by Dr. Bertoglio and her kids. Once you are checked in, you can relax on the very chic chairs or sofa that is available. Not ready to sit down? Grab some water, tea or coffee from the ADORABLE drink bar. The actual exam rooms are just as relaxing, with the beautiful colored walls and storage areas that hide some of the typical equipment you would see displayed all over a typical exam room. A large screen sits high up on the wall near the window (yes, the presence of the window was one of the best things for me, since my previous dental office didn't have one and I felt like I was in prison) so you can see what Dr. Bertoglio has done thus far for your teeth, needs to do, etc. I have been here a few times in the last month and I can say that the atmosphere of this office has made me feel more at peace than any other medical office. As far as the employees go, they are fantastic. This is a relatively new office and that sometimes can mean a lot of chaos as people figure out what they are doing. Although there is some figuring out still going on, it is always resolved quickly and in a friendly manner. Everyone is so kind and willing to help that nothing ever seems stressful. Dr. Bertoglio is amazing. She has an incredible personality and beautiful character that just makes you feel at home. When I came for my first visit, I already felt like I had known her for years. She even chooses to spend as much time as she can with patients and ensures that everything is explained thoroughly so there isn't any confusion or concern regarding anything from a tooth cleaning to extreme dental work. Dr. Bertoglio truly is a gift to the dental world. Finally, I just wanted to make a note about the equipment. I have been to so many dental offices that have outdated or old equipment. The Toothery has the most up-to-date equipment and even though I usually don't care about the machinery, I can honestly say that this equipment is beautiful. OK, I will start out by saying I hate the dentist. Of course that would be the reason I need to go to the dentist... You can only avoid it for so long so, today was the day. I am new to the area and did not feel like waiting for an appointment at my old dentist. Driving home, I see this new sign in bright lights that says The Toothery. I'm thinking OK, it's new so everything should be clean and not to hard to get an appointment. When I got home, I Googled them. Best decision ever! I was able to make an appointment online and had a follow up call the next morning confirming my appointment. Nice. The dentist is a beautiful young woman with a brand new state of the art dental studio. I got to watch my x rays as they happened on a big screen TV instantly. I liked that a bunch. Maybe this is standard practice everywhere but it is the first time I ever seen it. She even had a camera that projected on the flat screen so she could show me what she was going to do. For the first time at a dentist office, I knew what was going on. That alone took the scare away and put me at ease. My tooth needed to be pulled! That usually means to me that it is time to leave. But this time the tooth was bothering me so much that I knew I put it off for far too long. Feeling brave, I said pull it. So about ten minutes later, my tooth is out and I did not feel a thing. I am being totally honest here, it did not hurt! For the first time ever, I was happy with my dentist. So happy that I made an appointment for next week to get the rest of my toothery problems. Now when it was time to pay the bill I figured this will be when the pain starts. I got a full mouth x ray, a cleaning and a tooth pulled. I thinking here goes a grand... It turns out that the price was great. First off, it should have cost near that but it was less than $600. But, she has a membership discount thing that I really didn't understand except for the fact that by joining, I got the x rays and cleaning free plus 20% off of everything else. Long story short, what I thought would cost near $1000 ended up being less than $400. What a great day! No more tooth pain. read more

So I have a serious phobia of dentists. The Toothery came highly recommended to me so I thought I'd give it a shot. I was internally screaming and crying as I approached the office. As soon as I walked in, the front desk was so nice and got me checked in quickly. She then gave me a little tour and turns out that this place is gorgeous! I'd seriously ask Dr. Jess to help me decorate my home! There was no scary dentist smell and the decor was very comforting. Everyone there was so nice and wonderful. As soon as I met Dr. Jess, my nerves were practically gone. Everyone really took their time to explain things and really put forth the effort to come up with the best dental treatment for me. Afterwards, I got to sit with their billing(?) person who really took her time to explain the finances and insurance. She came up with an estimated amount so that there were no surprises. They really ACTUALLY care about their patients and making sure your comfortable. BEWARE. Went in for a check up. She filled some cavities. Developed SERIOUS pain after the appointment and the surfaces of my teeth were all messed up. I called, came back in, she said it would just take several weeks to feel better sent me home again. It did not feel better. Went to my childhood dentist who said they were poorly done (after a conversation between dentists, bartoglio agreed she would have redone some of them as well). Had to have x-rays again had had some of them done again while others are going to require root canals because the drilling was so deep into the pulp and the tooth was also likely cracked. I would not wish this dentist on my worst enemy. Seriously, reach out if you have any questions. I will tell you what I have been through. read more

Dr. Jess was so helpful. I called the morning I started having pain and she was able to squeeze me in her appointments to cut out infected scar tissue I had. She's so easy to get ahold of and after a couple days I was still very uncomfortable, I got ahold of her so easily and she called me in more antibiotics so I didn't have to travel around for hours ! Confession: I'm a grown man and seriously phobic about going to the dentist. I hadn't been in over 10 years until I cracked a molar last month. I called The Toothery and after visits for that repair work and to get my teeth deep cleaned and some cavities filled, I'm surprised to report that I'm not phobic anymore. Dr. Bertoglio is a great dentist who is deeply concerned and vigilant about patient comfort. The hygienist who cleaned my teeth (over two visits) is incredible, too. "Incredible" is a good way to describe the whole practice from the minute you walk in the door. The atmosphere exudes professionalism and a relaxed, easy-going friendliness all at the same time. And they're state-of-the-art. It was amazing to get fitted for a crown and, in less than 20 minutes, to have it milled and put in. For someone who avoided visiting a dentist for way too long, I couldn't have asked for a better place to get over that fear and get the treatment I needed. Also, I noticed children in there, too, and it's clear that Dr. Bertoglio and her staff are great with kids. If you're looking for a family dental practice that makes the experience as easy and confidence-inspiring as possible, this would be the place. read more
