Since this practice was sold the quality of service has declined, in general. What is still good is you get taken back into a room almost right away - there is typically no wait. Of course, they do a good job cleaning/polishing your teeth. For the most part, they are very good at diagnosing and fixing any dental problems. We've experienced times where we were billed for services covered by insurance, or received collection calls when bills were paid. While I like the practice, the main problem seems to be their billing department. I doubt they are doing anything on purpose, but it seems like billing isn't checking their work before sending out bills. We've argued charges several times now, and it is getting to the point where, if they don't get their act together, we may be forced to leave their practice. read more

I loved my old dentist but needed to switch when I got new insurance. I chose this place because of the good reviews, evening and weekend hours since I'm a teacher and somewhere close to my house. They were booked out a good amount, but they were super nice about getting me in, sending me all the info ahead of time and working with my schedule. Very nice inside. Do not waste your time with this place. They are extremely difficult to communicate with and reschedule you without notice at the very last minute. This has happened several times to us in the past few months. If you want to speak with anyone at the local office instead of the 3rd party scheduling office, you must DRIVE there to speak with them in person during office hours, which aren't even posted. Their answering service is located in another state and is less than helpful. The office does not return voicemails. It's impossible to reschedule appointments for months unless they are the ones rescheduling the appointment. We have had it with their poor service and management practices after just a year. My experience with Meadows was less than stellar. Trying to keep this short: - 7 months with the practice and they never sent me an estimate for the work that needed to be done on my teeth (cavities, a crown, etc.), even though I asked numerous times - They kept on pressuring me to do an implant consultation even though I told them one oral surgeon had already told me I wasn't a candidate for an implant. Insurance wasn't going to cover their $190 consultation fee and I wasn't enthusiastic about paying that much money just to have someone tell me a second time that it couldn't be done. But they talked me into it and, sure enough, I'm not a candidate for an implant. Complete waste of $190! - They wanted their consultation fee up-front. I explained that I didn't have my flex-spend card on me and money was tight right now (this being December) and I didn't want that cash tied up while I waited for reimbursement from the flex-spend company, couldn't they just bill me? They insisted on getting their consultation fee up-front, and my money wound up being tied up for weeks while the flex-spend company demanded copious amounts of documentation. None of the other dentists I've ever gone to ever had a problem billing me. - My consultation was for 7:30 AM. I arrived on-time only to be told that I'd have to wait until 8:30 AM at least so they could call my medical insurance and get pre-approval for a C/T scan. Why on earth wasn't this done in advance?? (BTW, even though they said they got pre-approval after we called, my insurance later denied the claim. They were nice enough to accept their screw-up and waive the $390 C/T scan fee though, so there is that.) - I later found out that there was another reason they made me wait an hour: the oral surgeon was running late. He didn't arrive until around 8:30 AM. A little honesty from the office staff would have gone a long way. After all of that, I decided I'd had enough. I transferred my records to a new practice in Palatine, Seven Hills Dental. I've only had two appointments with them and already half of my work on my cavities has been done and I have an estimate on-hand for the rest, plus their dentist took one look at my missing tooth and told me he could see I was probably not a good candidate for an implant. See? I am *not* hard to please. Dr. Baeverstad and Dr. LaSpisa and the hygienists at Meadows Dental were all sweet and friendly and I wish them all of the best. read more

I have been coming to Meadows Dental for about 5 years. Dr. Radin found some previous work that was not well done by my last dentist, and corrected those problems. Also referred me to a periodontist, Dr. Rosenfeld, for some needed gum work. So while I have routinely been seeing a dentist twice a year all my life, it matters who you visit. My teeth and gums are now in good shape, and I have turned my focus to Invisalign clear braces with Dr. Lippitz. I am about 70% through the treatment and I can see the teeth moving, without much pain or hassle. Nobody can tell I have braces. The office staff is great, friendly, and greet you with a smile. Monika is very patient in helping answer questions when the insurance and billing issues become complicated. Dr. Radin is a bit wacky, but that makes him unique. He is always happy to see you and performs a quality job. They use the latest equipment, so you can feel confident in your care. The waiting area is large, pleasant, contains a small area for kids, includes a lot of reading material, and sports memorabilia to enjoy. They are nearly always running on time. I have been very pleased with my care, and recently started bringing my teenage sons here for care as well. read more

Actually, I kind of had an opposite experience from Vanessa. The first time I went here, I had Dr. Cheskis. And she told me I should consider getting several crowns because some of my teeth *might* develop problems later on. Then when I went back a few months later, I saw Dr. Radin, and he said there is no need to do such drastic surgery if there is no immediate problem with my teeth. Considering I've always had relatively good dental hygiene my whole life, Dr. Radin's advice sounded more in-sync with my previous dentists. I have been going to this location for over 10 years off and on. I currently moved away to sf. But i really wanted to write a review for anyone that is looking and Needs some recommendation. anyone who is new to the area or is just looking for a great dentist and helpful staff. Because some other dentist did s bad job. First off make sure your insurance covers most of the work, I know from experience that sometimes they will only pay 50% and the rest is out of pocket. However it is worth every cent!!!! I had the best root canal and best crown done at this place! The reason why I know is because since I moved away, I have been to two different dentist and one endodontist (dentist specialist) and all 3 took X-ray s and said that I had excellent work done!!!! So therefor I feel def comfortable reviewing this place and giving it 5stars Dr Redin is a an excellent doc, yes he might be a little pushy at times but honestly what I learned afterwards was that, all he was trying to do is prevent that my cavity becomes bigger and turns into a root canal. Came into the practice after cracking a tooth. They did an X-ray and put a crown on it. Still had pain , Dr Radin saw that I needed a root canal by doing a second X-ray , hmm let me inform my insurance carrier that you charged them twice for X-rays . Why wasnt it fixed the first time?He said he would cover the cost since he made a mistake. Pls keep in mind I paid $1400+. Meadows Dental sent an attorney after me for $354.00. I've been there and had a couple of crowns completed. They seem to be okay. But my son recently went for his cleaning, he is 18 and went to the appointment on his own. They used that time to put the pressure on! He had braces 4 1/2 years ago with another practice and we are very happy with the result. While he was having his cleaning, the dentist or the orthodontist came in and proceeded to tell him his bite was terrible and the world would fall apart if he didn't allow them to fix the problem. Now, I'm the one paying the insurance and the bills. If it was something so urgent, they need to talk to me as well and stop putting the hard sell on a teenager. I loved Dr. Cheskis, and if she was still here I would definitely give this place 5 stars. She was a very nice dentist, would never push anything on you, and never "over-reccomended" procedures - something that has happened to me too many times. Dr. Radin is a smart guy, but I just haven't had the best experiences with him. I will probably be finding a new dentists office now that Dr. Cheskis is gone, but I hate to do that because what I do really love about Meadows Dental is Cheryl! She is the most fantastic hygeinist I've ever had. She should really go to school to be a dentist because I think she would be awesome. I was having a pain on the lower left side of my mouth and went in to see if we could figure out what it was. Dr. Radin felt around my TMJ and asked if it hurt, I said yes (I have ground my teeth/clenched my jaw in my sleep since I was a child so no surprise there) but that wasn't the pain that I was coming in for. He then proceeded to ask me a bunch of questions about my job and if it was stressful. I'm a lawyer, so yea it can be stressful. He told me to go see a counselor. That was his solution for my jaw pain. Well the next time I came in for my cleaning with Cheryl she asked if I'd been having any problems and I said I was still having some weird pain on my lower left side. Cheryl told me I was brushing too hard! Nobody had ever said that to me, and she gave me the tip of leaning forward when I brush (trust me, it works) to not only stop from brushing too hard but also to brush the back of my teeth better. Well, ever since I followed Cheryl's advice I've rarely had any problem with the lower left side! So, while I search for a new dentist I'm going to go get my teeth cleaned by her but I've got to be honest, Dr. Radin is probably never doing work in my mouth. read more

If you're looking for the best dentist in the Chicagoland area, Dr. Robert Radin is the man. I've been his patient for 30+ years~~I went through many, many dentists before finding Dr. Radin. Here's why I stick w/him: ~~he's a perfectionist. He'll do the job right ~~he's not condescending nor does he alienate you by lecturing on dental care despite the fact that it took me years to become a believer and floss regularly ~~he's respectful of your time and therefore is timely ~~his office has a friendly, professional staff ~~he's got a great sense of humor & is very personable ~~he understands that some people (me) automatically tense up just to hear a drill so he will put you at ease by humming along with the music, chatting or joking, or in difficult situations (root canals) uses nitrous oxide to help you strop gripping the chair! I love this place. All of the staff are very friendly and Dr. Radin is great. He spent nearly four hours with me, fixing some fillings and prepping me for a crown on a tooth that was very difficult to get to. I had to have a temporary crown placed until next time which after the numbing wore off, I realized was catching the side of my cheek. I thought it was just because the swelling hasn't gone down but a couple of days later I was still having issues. I called to ask if they had any time to fix it for me and they had me come in immediately. I sat in the waiting room for maybe a minute before I was taken back and it was fixed for me. 10 years ago i took my daughter to several different dentists and not one was successful. It was a horribe experience until i walked in to meadows dental. My family is new to this practice. All three of us had several procedures done: root canals, crowns, fillings, and cleanings. My son came here in an emergency situation. He had two failing crowned teeth that had abscessed. Dr. B.'s calm demeanor put all of us at ease. Dr. Radin's fun chair-side manner made procedures bearable. I realize that at times in dentistry we have to put faith in the dentist and go along with their suggestions even if it expensive or hard to understand. I became a patient of Dr.Radin last year after being referred from a friend. I don't think there are enough words to describe how wonderful the entire team here are. The staff at the front desk are welcoming and warm, the hygentist are knowledgable, kind and make the entire experience pleasurable. I recently needed two crowns replaced and Dr.Radin and team were so awesome!! Not only did I not feel any pain but Gosha, Nury and Dr.Radin joked and had me laughing (if you can imagine that) during the procedure. I felt comfortable, they brought me magazines while I waited in my chair and even put on the tv for me to watch, which is in every exam room. I was a long time customer doing the preventative by excellent hygienist (young lady Cheryl). Then unfortunately had to fix something and was placed with a doctor in this office on a bonded front tooth chip - it lasted some months before it broke. Originally on this tooth I have had this same tooth bond lasts me over 20 years with a doctor in another city with no issues whatsoever. The same doctor honored to fixed it up again and then shortly after couple of months broke again. When I asked Dr Radin to address this he had consultation time with me and just to make sure everything was clear as I mentioned the rework should be without charge since the problem was never resolved correctly - a payment was requested. End of story I no longer am a customer in the office or my family as future clients. After some time the dentist was not on staff - I could have been a trial patient for the new recruits. But I think Dr Radin should be one responsible since it is his office and staff are his responsibility. read more

I have been going to Meadows Dental for about 3 years now after being dissatisfied with my two previous dental practicies. I was pleasantly surprised at how well they perform a dental cleaning. I really have never had such a thorough cleaning by any other dentist or hygenist. The staff is extremely friendly and accommodating. My husband and 5 year old daughter now go as well and I am very happy with how kid friendly they are. Dr. Cheskis filled 2 cavities when my daughter was 4 years old and was able to make it a positive experience for her, which says a lot. They have TV's in every room so your child can watch a movie during a procedure and even use nitrous oxide to calm anxious patients. My daughter and I opt for the nitrous oxide when we have any procedures that involve getting shots. I really get the feeling that Dr. Radin and Dr. Cheskis genuinely care about you and really take the time to listen to your every concern. Hygenists, Cheryl, Beth and Gosia are very friendly and really want to make you very comfortable. The ladies at the front desk are very nice as well and really helpful with answering insurance and payment plan questions. I really love how they have interest free payment plans up to 24 months on more expensive procedures. My family and I will be going to Meadows Dental from now on. read more

I've been going to Meadows Dental and using Dr Radin's services for over 25 years. I used to hate the dentist, and tried to avoid going at all cost. When I married my husband, he encouraged me to try his dentist, and there's been no regrets or turning back since. I've never experienced any pain, no matter how serious or advanced the procedure was! The end results were that I now have great teeth, healthy gums, and his dental expertise has improved my overall general health. His office and treatment rooms are immaculate, he's a gifted dentist, and I feel confident that no matter what my dental needs are, he's both equipped and competent to handle them, and I would assume an exemplary outcome! I was very unhappy with Dr. Radin he made me a upper denture that didn't fit my face or my bite. I went to several other dentist who advised me that the upper denture was not properly made. when I brought the denture back with a letter from the dentist his reply was let her fix it or pay for another one. he is very sarcastic and even thought he did not make me a proper denture he didn't feel as though it was his fault. Thank God I was able to go to another Dentist who is very professional staff is outstanding and he corrected my dentures. now i don't look like a donkey when I smile ..If you want superb service I recommend Dr. Stevan Orser He is the best and will not charge you until the denture is properly fitted and even allowed me to wear the denture home to make sure i liked it if i didn't he personally corrected the denture now that's what i call white glove service. Dr. Radin showed me no remorse i wouldn't recommend anyone to Meadows Dental Care,,,Unless they are going to see another Dentist's been years but every time i smile i thank about how Dr Radin spoke to me and it was very hurtful.
