Please understand that I don't know much about other similar providers, but I will share my thoughts about the care provided for my two children over the years. When we needed braces for our son, the name we were given was Dr. Kemp. He is the definition of local legend, and he's earned those accolades the hard way: He created a superior practice and provides amazing care for patients and family alike. Dr. Hall is the other heavy hitter in the office. Impressive in all ways, working with skill and compassion. If you're like me, environment plays a huge role in experience. Their office is spotless, smartly decorated, and inviting. More importantly, the office staff provides exceptional customer care. You lnow you're in good hands with this team, which speaks to the quality and thought given to hiring practices. Finally, and most importantly, I can boil down my experiences here to one word: Trust. I whole-heartedly entrust my children's care in this field to Arlington Orthodontics and Dentistry. Whether you call them 4 times to reschedule or walk in they always greet you the same, with kindness and with warmth. Nicole is one of my favorites at the front desk. But now Dr. Kaplin is saying we need to extract all 4 bottom baby teeth, 2 upper baby teeth and 2 upper adult teeth all at once! Then he can start the braces for my daughter. When we mentioned that that was not what we discussed previously, his tone changed and started becoming rude and snappy and seemed annoyed by us. "I don't think we are on the same page here. I'm hearing a lot about baby teeth but I'm not concerned about that"

They expect children to be pulled out of class for routine appointments. They're only open every other Saturday, and those slots fill so fast they're basically unusable. The practice is completely unaccommodating and has an arrogant attitude about it. To make matters worse, both of my kids were told they'd have braces for about a year, and in both cases treatment lasted nearly twice as long. Either they're very bad at estimating timelines or they're not being honest up front--neither is acceptable. It also feels like unnecessary adjustments are made just to undo them at the next visit. My dentist was surprised by how uneven my daughter's teeth still are. Overall, this place feels difficult, poorly managed, and questionable. Not recommended.

My first impressions were very good. Kind staff, good with kids, they talk you through their…read moredecisions; however, when my child needed extensive work, I listened to their plan, in the moment trusted the Dr., agreed to treatment, paid a deposit. As I sat with it I grew concerned because the treatment plan included sedation. Expensive and risky. I asked for the X-rays which they sent, but I also requested the plan be written up with a rationale and any other possible options. I'm not a medical professional and do not understand everything thrown at me in the office. There was a follow up phone call where the staff proceeded to tell me verbally the plan. I explained it was intensive and costly and I don't understand so I would like it written up and may seek a second option to make sure this was the right path. I was told they welcomed a second option but that my $1000 deposit was non refundable. I found this really disconcerting. I understand the need of a deposit but when there is genuine concern and you have to make decisions on the spot, I also think making it no refundable with prior notice is poor customer service which I expressed to them. They then sent me an email telling me "our professional bond had been broken". Very concerning for a parent looking to be more informed in making medical decisions for their child. First I felt pressured to agree, then I felt vilified for asking questions.

Basically that's using ways to not honor the service deceptively. When we went to ask what happened at the office he called the cops without answering any of our inquiry or make any appointment to discuss the service. Beware of those professionals without any reviews, or shall I say unprofessional office dealings. In the past our two kids informed us the procedure were quite rough; scratches on the worked area, the wiring popping out and jagging the gums, and comment that was beyond professional mannerism. Unfortunately you can't back out of the contract when it's paid service. But I don't think he has to resort to this type of practices and only thing I want is other consumer to take note. First, let me tell you that the way I stumbled onto this reviewer's comments was by chance because I was simply looking to find Dr. Konishi's phone number again. As an adult 50 year old male with a severe overbite, he worked on my teeth for over 3.5 years, during which time, I can say I had nothing but absolutely pleasant experiences with him and his staff. I would and have highly recommended him and give him and his staff an A+++. My case was a little bit complicated because it necessitated lower jaw surgery. Dr. Konishi personally referred me to and worked with a doctor from Loyola who along with his remarkable staff, performed the surgery. Within a week after the surgery, I felt almost as good as new and wiithin a few months after the surgery, Dr. Konishi completed my treatment. The results were better than I ever expected and with a beautiful new smile and a now normal bite, I am very thankful that I went to him to have my orthodontics work done. I also want to add that even though I could have had other consultations, I chose to go with Dr. Konishi because of the beautiful work he did for my son and daughter when they had their braces done by him. My kid's are now in their mid 20's and their smiles are still gorgeous; and even though their teeth were straightened over 13 years ago, there has been no noticeable shifting. My children have also had a couple of occasions to revisit Dr. Konishi for follow ups and minor things like lost or broken retainers and have told my wife and I that Dr. Konishi and his staff always treat them like long lost friends. So to wrap this up, I'm not sure what happened to the reviewer above but when I saw his/her review, all I can say is that I am in total disbelieve. It is so opposite of my experiences during the 3.5 years that I visited Dr. Konishi as well as the many years that I took my children to him. Lastly, the poor grammar and somewhat nonsensical comment that the reviewer wrote concerning a police incident seems so odd to me that I can only believe that this story has more levels to it than this reviewer has revealed, or has been totally made up.
