    Not the Same Practice Anymore…read more We used to love coming to this office when it was run by Dr. Turnwald and his team. My kids actually enjoyed going to the dentist, and the entire staff was fantastic. About a year ago, I was having tooth pain and called to set up an appointment, and I was pleasantly surprised to get in the same day. However, when I showed up, I found out the entire old staff and Dr. Turnwald had left, and the practice had been sold to a new doctor--without any notice. Even the text and email confirmations still had the old dentist's name, so it was pretty frustrating to show up and find an entirely new staff and doctor. While the new staff was nice and the doctor was okay, the whole experience felt off-putting since I booked the appointment thinking it was still my family's trusted dentist. I also really missed my old hygienist, who always made visits easy for my kids. Honestly, had they been more upfront about the change when I called, it might not have left such a sour taste in my mouth. But now, I drive 30 minutes out of my way to see Dr. Black, where she has her own practice, and it's worth it for the care we receive. Most of the positive Yelp reviews here are for the old practice under Dr. Turnwald, and it says a lot that the entire staff left when he did. We've since followed Dr. Black to new office, and our family is much happier for it.

Dr. Hoepfner is so kind, he clearly cares for his patients, as he took the time to explain everything to me, and i had a lot of questions. I paid tens of thousands of dollars, and when I got my permanent dentures they didn't fit-not even close. They did a few adjustments and then said any further adjustments would cost $350 per adjustment (in addition to the $18,000 I already had paid.) They did not finish the job promised, and now I need new dentures. When I was told it would cost even MORE than paid, I told them absolutely not. Not one more cent. A week later I received a letter saying I was no longer welcome. The $1000 they offered in 'good will' was tied to a silence clause. Since then, I have someone who really knows what he's doing. I have needed a lot of work with the dentures from Smile Pro Studio at additional cost just to fit well enough to eat (top denture relining, bottom denture trimming and polish, then multiple adjustments to "kind of fit".). But speaking is an issue and therefore a new set will be made. My dentures made by Smile Pro Studio gave me a bad overbite, and was so off centered it looks ridiculous. Nothing was delivered as promised. Take note of the reviews. The most positive reviews are 7+ years old! Maybe things were better then, but I don't recommend and I was a new patient July 2024 - April 2025.

I would be picked up and moved into the dentist chair and my wheelchair would be moved into some never used corner. But at smile pro studios they accommodated me. They did my cleaning while I sat in my wheelchair. I didn't have to make myself uncomfortable to ease other people. I had a wonderful experience!

After scheduling online, I received a confirmation call from Jessica at the Schaumburg office. I asked a straightforward question: if I moved my aligner appointment to Oct 18, would I incur a fee? Instead of giving a clear yes/no, Jessica gave evasive answers, referenced unrelated scenarios (like a tooth being pulled), and brought up "three levels of cleaning." When I asked again for clarity, she seemed aggravated. I even asked, respectfully: "Do you understand what I'm asking, or should I explain it differently so it's clear?" At that point, Jessica hung up on me. As a new patient, this was unacceptable. It created the impression that the office is more concerned with structuring visits to maximize charges than providing straightforward, transparent answers. Patients deserve honesty, professionalism, and respect -- not evasive responses, irritation, and being hung up on. This experience has raised serious concerns about Aspen Dental's priorities and whether patient care is truly their focus.
