Been using these folks for years now and they are always friendly and helpful. I have trouble finding the plastic recycling symbols and the helpers always sort it out for me even if it is only a few cents. When they saw me struggling to get the totes to the scale while I was using a walker, two guys come to carry them in for me. We'd been saving the pop-top openers from aluminum cans for someone for years while living in Modesto -- until the recipient found out that the alleged program was a scam, fable, and/or myth. We put the pop-tops in cans we'd collected for a year or two for a local sports team -- after all, they came from the same cans we'd been recycling for decades. We filled 17 plastic garbage cans there with crushed and uncrushed cans (filled with the pop-tops) -- and they wouldn't take any of them. Taking the slip up to the cashier, we were told that the cans we brought were all rejected. What? Of course, they were "disposed of" by dumping them in the hopper for crushing aluminum cans. In other words, they took the hundreds of pounds of aluminum for their profit... and they couldn't return them to us. Why? I guess they don't believe that the pop-tops were a part of the cans we paid CRV on. Rather than tell the sports team about the disposition of the aluminum cans we collected, I donated my own funds to cover the theft. I won't state what I'm thinking. You draw your own conclusions. read more

Not a bad recycling place. I almost didn't come because of the bad reviews . But I took a chance and I'm glad I did because it's only a couple minutes from my house. So I called first and asked when they close. I was told 4:30. I had trouble finding it at first because I passed it . So right when you turn on Patterson you make a right into the driveway. They are behind the big DMV flags and the tire shop shop. And there is a fiesta car insurance place in the front. They are directly behind them . When I pulled in there was a guy waving his hands saying they were closed. I told him we just talked to lady on the phone and she said it was ok that they close at 4:30. He checked and everything was good. He apologized after for turning us away at first but it's ok because he didn't know. Everyone was friendly there even offering to help me. I will be coming here to recycle. read more

I am a very senior citizen and need help with filling and dragging the plastic cans you fill with recyclables to the weighing area. The workers here are so very nice and helpful. They are polite, friendly, and I have never, over the past 3 years, had any problems here. I think they pay a little less than some places, but they are close to my home, always ready to help me, and I find them extremely willing to be of aid when I come in. The sign for Plastics lists many of the common recyclables however they actually only take #1 PET and #2 HDPE. Everything else on the plastics list must be CRVs hence, the sign is misleading and annoying having arrived with a large amount of #5 PP in anticipation of getting it recycled, not for cash, but for the purpose of what recycling is about. read more

As far as recycling places go, I don't know if there can really be a "bad" one. But I've come here a few times and never had a problem. You pull up outside the shed-- there is a lot of space to park. You can grab bins next to or inside the entrance and put your recyclables in them and bring them over. The gentleman that helped us was very nice and worked quickly. After he weighed everything, he gave us a sheet of paper to take to the cashier. The cashier takes the paper from you and will give you the appropriate amount of cash. It's a simple process and I highly encourage doing it. It shouldn't take too much time and it's a great way to get some money back while helping the environment. read more

If you're going to turn away customers after 4:45 that's exactly what it should say on Google when we look up the business. Another customer and myself drove up at 4:46 and was algetting waved at by the man for us to turn around because they're "closed"he said. Given they did have a sign they're saying they don't take anyone after 4:45 PM but when you look it up on Google there's no way for us to know that. Pretty lame read more

You'd be a COMPLETE FOOL to go here. What a complete rip off. First off, you have to sort your Glass by color. Secondly, they won't take your own trash can (as opposed to Modesto Junk who will tear the weight). Thirdly, I'm nearly certain their scales are off because I brought in about 5 trash cans of aluminum and they reported an incredibly marginal weight. Bottom line, if you value convenience and don't care if you get ripped off, this is the place for you! Ps: I recycle way less on a regular basis at Modesto Junk and this was RIDICULOUS. I recycled all my wedding bottles and cans and am appalled by the CRV vs amount back. I feel this place is a freaking joke. NEVER EVER GOING BACK. read more

Showed up at 4:20 on a Saturday drove from Escalon. just had one bag of cans they had one customer unloading what looked like ten trash cans full then a employee came and told me that they were closed then proceeded to drag my trash can of cans off. I said I thought you were closed and he said yes were are. I said we'll give me my fucking cans back read more

This place makes recycling even less worth it than it already is. Nothing more really needs to be said.

I was denied my CRV. The staff member was nice kid, however he was not aware that it was the law. Recycling centers are required to comply with this rule, found in the California Code of Regulations, Title 14, Chapter 5, Section 2535(b). This means you can bring up to 50 aluminum, 50 glass, 50 plastic and 50 bi-metal California Redemption Value containers in a single visit and request to be paid by count. Complaint was filed with calrecycle.ca.gov I suggest you do the same if you are denied your CRV, it is a dishonest practice. The staff member said that this location does not pay CRV value, rather only weighs. I will be going back and documenting further rejection. Not happy. read more

It was decent. Nothing bad to say about it. Just wished can prices could be better but it's all good. I use to work for a recycling place so I know how it gets and how customers treat them. Can be good or bad. One thing I will say though is Wish they say what the weight was for each can so I could record it and see how many lbs I have for plastics and cans. The weight guy never gave me numbers the scale screen faced him. But other than that it was decent. read more

They take a wide variety of recyclables and I can usually get in and out pretty fast. I like this place...people are nice. I just wish it was a little cleaner. read more

Ok, they recently cleaned up the facility - way better experience. My kids used to refer to this place as the one with bees now it is actually reasonably organized and clean. read more

Place is a joke it's 9:12 and there not open 6 cars out here waiting. Posted hours say 9am.

The staff is extremely friendly and they DO comply with the recycling laws! It is best to go when one of their staff members are there because they can trade out the odd shaped bottles that the machine cannot read or fit. read more
