It's so nice, and actually surprising in the current times, to get help unloading. No lame excuses pointing to things like liability and no assistance provided. I can't say they're the best or pay the most; no recycling company pays enough. I drive an hour to get there, and this place and the people who work there are all business. Thought to go elsewhere, but why? I would just be more disappointed. The employees are on point and very efficient. A no-nonsense company. A misleading business that forces upon my personal and confidential information without my consent and knowledge. If there was a ZERO, I'd rate this place a ZERO. Doing my part for this planet by recycling a television is a part of my responsibility as a human being. Found this place that recycles TVs for free. The reviews mentioned the business pays you to recycle which was irrelevant and irritating. They take junk such as my television in hopes of catching crooks (presumptions that the customer is already one until proven) associated with stolen reported property. Their uninterested and sly behaviors practice the psychological knowledge and intent to obtain your drivers license as fast as possible without your knowledge of their hidden agenda to run it for their own business operational causes. In other words, you have no say because they were not transparent about their free junk recycle service. They indirectly verbally and physically push with effective gentle pressures by keeping their intent to invade your personal and confidential information without your knowledge. Armed with this knowledge until they've accomplished their dirty tasks on you, you can hope their forced access to your confidential information now won't cause other unknown possible problems you did not volunteer for that has nothing to do with honest free recycling services. The extreme discomfort, mistreatment, and mistrust from customer betrayal that I felt from this business was a sad and unfortunate experience. Whether this is a part of law or not, the deception to keep this information from the customer willing to trust a business by doing what it asks then finding out their intent without my consent violating my choices is grave enough I do not recommend recycling TVs or anything else at Modesto junk company. Go elsewhere to recycle if you want a safer, more peaceful, and no invasion of privacy experience. Bringing business to this place is not recommended based on my own experiences. read more

Super friendly and helpful was the male individual employee who assisted me today. They accept and pay for metal reverse osmosis tanks. Ours went out so now how and where to dispose of the broken one and still remain friendly to the Earth? I was just happy to drop off the busted tank for free but they paid me .28 cents for it and money is money so that's that. They work swiftly to keep the traffic of customers who line up consistently here moving in and out. I was greeted with a smile and by a friendly man at the pay out window too. Two great customer service oriented employees in one consumer experience works for me. They accept e-Waste here as well as pay for plastic bottles and aluminum cans all the usual recycling items. It's loud here so maybe pack your ear plugs. read more

This is the best place around. They pay the most and workers will actually come out to help you bring in your recycling. This is helpful when you have more than you can handle on your own. They also don't sift and nitpick every single thing you bring them like some other places I've been to. I bring my recycling from over 60 miles away - that's how highly I think of them! For years I took my CRV cans and water bottles to Modesto Junk. The last time I was there which was months ago, they required that you empty recycled items into barrels. Prior to that I took large garbage bags to the weigh master who ripped them open and dumped them on the conveyor belt to determine the cash value to me. The business has steadily gone down in customer service and now I read that they decertified the business from the state of CA requirement that they redeem CRV. Just another business that has used the COVI as an excuse to renege on any social responsibility. Sleazy business to say the least. read more

Always a great experience. I recycle our household bottles/cans here. It's fast, easy, painless. I had thought it might not be because I've seen cars waiting to pull in from out in the street sometimes. But I've been there about 7 times recycling and it's been easy. A couple of times the parking was almost full, but it only took a couple of minutes to get a spot. (way easier than parking at the mall!) The staff has always been efficient and nice. No hassles. I come here because they pay the most for recycling, but it's always stupid busy with barely anywhere to park and the guys here a total jerks! They don't help at all even if they see you struggling and then they yell at you if you put cans in the wrong stupid trash can. I hate this place read more

So my sister told me that during this whole Covid-19 situation, they were open and taking 4 cars at a time because she had personally gone. So, today I pack up all of my recyclables and head over there. The doors were open and I pull in only to be yelled at by a man saying they weren't open at all during the pandemic. I saw one other car there so I'm not sure what's going on or how their operation hours are being handled. I just know that my sister had told me they're open and one of the workers (who was being rude right as I pulled in)told me they weren't going to be open until this whole pandemic is over. read more

I love Modesto Junk Company! I drive from across town to do our household recycling and also do the recycling for my office to help fund our Morale Committee to do fun things for our office staff. The staff is always helpful. The process is quick and efficient and they offer top dollar for recycling. The only downfall is parking and the smell (but that is to be excpected!) Used to be my go to place until the so called boss told me my cans were "to wet" for him to take....it rained a bit the night before...I was forced to find a new place that took my cans no problem and now I have an ever better go to place. Not only do they give the best prices in town for recycling they also have the best service. I went there on Saturday, January 24th and not only did they direct me where to park they brought out three cans for me to put my recycling into. I don't trust them. Caught the weighmaster (grandson of the founder) shorting me over 200 lbs. Claimed he didn't but would not check the cameras to double check the scale weights. If you choose to use them, take pictures of the scale and use your own math or use a certified scale to check accuracy.
