Stopped in on a whim and got a taco combo, with two asada tacos and one chicken taco. The rice was flavorful. I'd give it a 7/10. Beans 7/10. The tacos were 8/10. Customer service was cool. I'd go back again! They do a cash discount. I paid about $13 and some change. read more

Our family found Rivera's Tacos early this summer, and has been back numerous times since! It's on our way into Olathe for kids' practices, so we drive by often! It's located on the west side of the railroad tracks, just west of Santa Fe & Kansas Ave. They typically have a little bit of seating and a tent for shade set up, if you want to eat on site; however, we've simply ordered online and picked up each time, which has worked flawlessly! Our meals have been ready within 60 seconds of checking in each time! We've tried all their basics - the street tacos, tortas, burritos, quesadillas, and sopes! Despite the food in the namesake, our favorite has actually been....the burritos! In fact, my son - who is at the intersection of picky boy and growing, hungry teen - absolutely LOVES their burritos here! Despite the fact that they are fairly large (not quite Chipotle-size...but knocking on the door!), he swears he could "easily eat two"! I haven't let him try yet...but between you and me, I'm sure he probably could...and WOULD! My daughter's favorite is the tacos birria, and while I have enjoyed it all, I, like my son, have a soft spot for the chicken burrito or asada burrito! My last note on the food: you MUST try their salsas! The verde is extremely fresh and bright, and the spicy (orange in color) is an incredible add-on to most of their dishes! (As someone who's comfortable with spice, I'd rate the spice level at a 0/10 for the verde, and a 6/10 for the spicy!). I literally douse almost every bite with the spicy salsa! The folks working the truck are always very kind, helpful, and friendly! The prices are on par for what you'd expect. My primary beef (pun!) with their pricing is that you can get certain different meats on the tacos, tortas, and sopes., but NOT with the burritos or quesadillas! I'd die of happiness if they'd offer at least the Asada and Pastor options at no-additional-cost for the burritos! Absolutely took me by surprise. I'm from California and well tacos there are on a different level compared to any taco scene here and in Kansas. I've tried four other spots near Rivera's and this place blows them out the water without question. It reminds me so much of the Cali tacos I remember and miss. The horchata doesn't taste super syrupy or "fake" nor is it watered down. It's honestly as good if not better than my mamas. (Shhhh don't tell her). I ordered the carne asada burrito without beans and rice. It was kind of small (about the length as my hand), for $14.23. That seems steep for one single serving meal from a food truck. The meat was flavorful and properly cooked without any chunks of fat but the flavor seemed a little amateurish and over the top. It wasn't bad, and might be the perfect thing at 2 AM when the bar closes but it was just an OK lunch. read more

This may be some of the best tacos in the city I ever had. I was driving by and needed a quick stop before a gig of mine. The taco place I usually go to was closed so I just let my intuition guide me to the next. Then I found a taco truck at a random spot off Santa Fe and decided let's try it. I got the quesabirria taco, pollo, asada, and a asada+chorizo combo with salsa Rona y verde with a side of rice and oh my God. The food came out so fast and it was hot and fresh. The food was absolutely amazing every single taco was soooo good. I ate it so fast I could not take a picture. And the rice is well worth it to get. Prices are very good especially for nowadays 10/10 recommend if you are a true authentic taco fan. The guys that work there are very helpful and responsive. read more

I was impressed with the cheerful, efficient, reasonably fast (seven minutes) service, the reasonable prices and the delicious food at this Mexican food truck, which is semi-permanently located near Santa Fe St and Kansas Ave but is also available for events. The three street tacos ($10) included rice, beans and choice of three salsas (hot, red and green). The tacos included good portions of moist, tasty chicken on soft, moist, 4" two-layer tortillas. I liked the tasty beans and moist, flavorful rice. The red sauce I selected was very hot, but not overwhelming. I noticed a small, covered dining area with seating for two and a small, private parking area. The menu included many Mexican favorites with six protein options. Very nice! read more

Love the food! Customer service is okay, nothing over the top friendly-wise; but not rude, pushy, etc. love the look of the truck: the colors, the flashy LED lights, and the awning size set up to the side of truck is enough to keep you dry if it's raining and there is one small table to "dine-in" if you wish. GREEDY - DISHONEST - DISRESPECTFUL So I thought I'd give this place a second try but I should've just avoided this taco truck after the first visit. On my first visit I was charged over eight dollars more than what I ordered and I included tax with my calculations. Today I was charged $8.62 more, it's not the dollar amount it's the fact that they made up excuses like charging to put vegetables on the side and charging to put cheese on the side even though the certain dish comes with it. You order tacos and you get onions and cilantro on it but have to pay for it if you want it on the side and not on the actual tacos itself, absolute bullshit. He make up excuses for everything and obviously make their own prices up because nothing is the same as what is on the menu. After correcting them on their mistake, I was called a La Verga aka go F yourself. The tacos are literally microwaved and soggy, the meat is old. The burrito is skinny. You can tell that a lot of the food was premade from hours ago because the sopes is even a different color than what it should be. EVERYTHING IS PREMADE! Beware for food poisoning!!! I'm throwing this food away. Absolutely disgusted at the service I received today and the food. 35$ dollars later. Thumbs down. read more

So I stopped on my way home to pick up food, I ordered birria qesodillia with beans and rice on side, I got 7.00 worth of birria tacos for the price of a 12.00 qesodillia! I ordered a chicken qesodillia with cheese, onions,jalapeños with rice and beans on the side totally wrong, I ordered 4 El pastor which was surprisingly right. I spent 40.00 on this little dab of shit. When I called she was rude saying thats what I ordered this was the second time she was rude as hell I will never go there again and I advise you don't either. Taco Mendo in olathe is as good and they care about their customers, get the orders right and are kind not rude and smart asses. If you have ever eaten Mexican and eat as much as I have in my 60 years on the face of the earth you would know this place is generic at best. You could go to the grocery store in the frozen food and get better food than this truck! Don't waste your time.
