In my case, I have quite a story of having to go five days without hot water because the unit I received was defective. The day after the install we found the tank had shut down. After a reset and restart done over the phone with the installer assisting, the unit failed again, a short time later. The next day which was a Saturday, another technician came out to swap out a heat sensor which appeared to be the problem. While changing out the part, the tech noticed that insulation near the assembly had burned, and ash was present. He vacuumed it out and restarted the unit. It made a horrible noise, and he spent a half an hour on the phone with the manufacturer tech support trying to diagnose the problem. The noise eventually went away and he finished the repair. Unfortunately the machine shut down again after we got one warm shower. I called on Sunday, and explained that I was no longer comfortable with the unit being in our house and I wanted a replacement, of a different maker. Without hesitation they agreed, and Monday morning, after acquiring a, more expensive model of a different make from a supplier, we got a replacement installed, at no additional cost. These problems are rare, and not the fault of the installer. I could not have asked for a more timely and considerate treatment as a valued customer of this business.

They seem to answer calls 24/7 and I was able to schedule an appointment quickly. Mike was main point of contact and gave us an estimate and scope of work. Basically, they had to tear out the drywall and insulation from the wet area, dry and dehumidify the area for days, and then put on moon suits and remove any mold. We were able to have 2 techs come on a Friday and then let the dehumidifier run over the weekend. We also had to tear out our upper cabinet since the top was damaged by water. On Monday, they came back to remove any leftover mode and patch things up. The total price came in well below the estimate, which is a huge plus. Very happy with the service and efficiency. If you ever suspect you have water damage from leaks, call these guys and get the problem resolved to ensure mold doesn't form or worst, spread. Note that their services are purely restorative - they'll dry out the water-damaged area and get rid of all the mold. You'll need to hire a plumber first to stop the leaks and then afterwards, a drywall contractor to patch up the holes with insulation and new drywall followed by texturing and painting.

I had the best customer experience with Rivera's Heating and Cooling. My old, central air furnace stopped working and was just blowing cold air in the house. I sent a quote request via the yelp app and Marcos replied right away. We made an appointment for him to take a look the next day. He was on time, friendly and very knowledgeable. He explained that my thermostat was broken and the settings on the furnace were stuck. He was able to quickly repair the furnace, replace the thermostat and taught me how to replace the filters. What was really awesome is that he took the time to show me everything he was doing and explained how the system worked. Rivera's Heating and Air installed my mini split AC and heating unit just before the crazy heat wave of 2020. Now it's late Fall and we're getting hit with icy cold days. My unit has literally been working 24/7 since the day it was installed more than six months ago and I could not be happier with my investment. Marcelo came highly recommended from my significant other, and I was not disappointed! I did get a number of quotes for our project to make sure I did my due diligence, and he provided the most budget friendly quote by a pretty significant margin. We decided to get a mini split heat pump installed, and he was very up-front with the pricing and what he would ask from me. I was responsible for pulling the building permit, but it wasn't very difficult to do, and by my estimate from other quotes I got, it saved us hundreds, if not thousands, of dollars. The project started quickly and was done in a few days despite it being rather involved. I had a final building inspection, and it didn't pass on the first go around, but Marcelo came out the very next day to make the minor adjustments required by the inspector. I highly recommend Alaniz HVAC for any project big or small. I will absolutely be calling Marcelo in the future for any of our HVAC needs.

We have a classic "reefer" in our galley that's driven by a large compressor in our engine room that had stopped running. Our marine engineer had a guess that the problem might be low pressure coolant, but this isn't his area of expertise, so he hoped we'd find a reliable HVAC person, as he's found it hard to find someone to work on these types of systems for the yachts he manages. Tom was quick to respond, was clear that he only works on commercial style applications, and was available for an appointment early in the week. He called when he was en route, so we had time to be ready. Tom got right to work assessing the situation, explained his findings, listened when we gave him additional info, and jumped right in to the fix. He popped out the part that needed to be replaced, headed to his distributor, and came back with an exact match, installing it right away. He addressed any questions we had, made quick work of the repair and coolant recharge, itemized the expenses and was on his way. Tom happened to carry the old school R12 coolant our vintage system required, so he was able to complete the entire repair/recharge in a single afternoon. We've had a super cold reefer since his visit, and the compressor isn't working nearly as hard to keep up.
