"The technician, Lee, was very good. He explained what he was going to do before he started working. He also took pictures before and after. He also discussed options, "what if" and what to expect. The van is loaded with equipment and parts seemingly able to fix any plumbing problem. Lee was personal, cheerful and professional. He knows what he is doing." It all started when I received a call this morning from who I think is Laurie. She was cheerful, understandable and very easy to work with. Lee and Laurie gave me a favorable impression of Harris Water Heaters. Very good. I would do business directly with them. read more

Very professional and prompt. Appreciate Raul explaining the work that was being done and also provided safety instructions

Very timely service. Competent. Left area clean. Answered all of our questions! Completed the service without delay.

Amazing company, and wonderful caring employees. we had our water heater go out, used our home warrenty company who contracted with Harris. Harris some how worked us in not just once but 3 times. First time to come out and find the control valve had failed and order the part. Second time to install part (Ferguson order wrong part). The third time with the right part. Tech was awesome, he took great care and made sure we understood what was going on, even after the wrong part was ordered, he made sure the right part was rushed and was here just after lunch to get us back up and running. 100% this company is the one to do your water heater. read more

My shower was lukewarm yesterday morning but only realized about 4:00 pm that pilot light was out. Unable to restart it, PG&E sent a technician at about 6:30 pm and he diagnosed a faulty controller. Luckily I have a warranty with First American and submitted a claim at about 8:00 pm and they assigned Harris Water Heaters. Randy arrived at 8:30 am this morning and quickly replaced the faulty unit. Very happy with the efficiency and seamless repair. Highly recommended. read more

We had a fantastic experience with Harris Water Heaters, all thanks to Bry an. He was absolutely amazing! I truly appreciated his candor--he took the time to clearly break down what could be done versus what should be done, which gave us complete peace of mind. Bryan is incredibly friendly, professional, and trustworthy. There was absolutely zero pressure to make a decision on the spot. On top of his excellent work, he even provided referrals for restoration and contracting services just in case we needed them. It's rare to find that level of honesty and helpfulness these days. We were referred to Harris Water Heaters through our home warranty company but I'll keep his info on file should any of our friends need his service! read more

Water heater replaced last week. Today: OVERWHELMING GAS SMELL. Called Harris and earliest appt to handle this is two days later. Called PG& E, they tested the heater connections...so much gas leakage that the tester started beeping. The connections were not sealed properly. This is HIGHLY disappointing and extremely dangerous. Now, water heater is out of commission until Harris decides they can come take care of it. Thanks for putting my family at risk. read more

Very professional clearly explained the issue and fast in fixing it . Thank you for the great job.

My experience with Harris Water Heaters has been extremely disappointing. Unless you're extremely desperate, I would never ever use them! Especially not the technician Raul!!! The WORST!!! The same technician RAUL was sent to two different properties of mine. About a month ago, he came to my home in San Francisco. This past weekend, he came to my home in Oakland. In both cases, instead of repairing the water heater, he concluded that there were installation issues that prevented him from performing the work. Those findings were then reported to my home warranty company, which used them to deny coverage until I pay to correct the alleged issues myself, or hire them outside of the insurance company to probably pay a higher amount than what they would pay the insurance company. He left a note on my table with the cost to repair of $1200. I find it very difficult to understand how the same technician reached essentially the same conclusion at two completely different homes. It gives the impression that he was looking for reasons not to perform the repair rather than making every effort to diagnose and fix the problem. I never even met the technician because I was at work during both visits, but based on the reports and the outcome, I have no confidence in the quality of the service provided. He spent over 45min trying to locate the water shutoff valve and was unable to do so before considering leaving the job. That does not inspire confidence in his expertise. As a direct result of these visits, I have now been without hot water for five days. I am spending my own money to hire an independent licensed plumber, while also fighting my home warranty company's denial of coverage. This situation has caused unnecessary stress, inconvenience, and expense. I cannot recommend Harris Water Heaters based on my experience. I expected an honest evaluation and a genuine effort to complete the repair. Instead, I was left with denied claims, additional costs, and no hot water. read more

I called my home warranty on a Friday and after speaking to them they were apprehensive that my water heater would be resolved that day and I would be out of hot water for the whole weekend. Soon after, I received a call from Harris Water Heater and the receptionist said they could send someone out in 10 minutes. Jorge the tech came out and quickly resolved the issue. I was surprised and very happy that it all worked out and was fixed so quickly. Would recommend. read more

Brian was early! That is always wonderful! He was friendly, thorough and efficient. A "one man show", which was surprising and a little concerning. I had expected at least two. He was in and out a little over 3 hours. This with a full water heater replacement. Before leaving he gave a brief summary of how to turn water off in an emergency and the working components. Thank you Brian I look forward to years of satisfaction and HOT water with the new equipment. read more

A bit of a long read but covers my whole experience. I get you pay for experience but you don't pay for crazy price gouging. My water heater started to leak on Saturday. I called my home warranty who scheduled my appointment with this company to replace it. They came out and wrote up a quote and sent me a quote based on what home warranty would cover vs what I had to pay out of pocket. I approved the work which was done. On Monday I got a call from them saying they quoted me wrong and my coverage didn't cover certain things after the tech on Saturday said he had to review my coverage before my quote. Monday they said I need to pay more money out of pocket (several hundred dollars) due to their mistake of my coverage and the clerk said if she was in on Saturday it would've been caught. So basically they spent my money without my approval and money I didn't authorize and are now expecting me to pay and told me I can't get a permit and or warranty work if it's not paid. They made a mistake not me. Also after reviewing the quote the code section has a list of parts. The mark up on parts is over 100% on basically every part. 80 dollars for a 2x4 piece of wood and 81 dollars for a drain pan which is less than 30.. I don't recommend this company due to the issues above. I understand mistakes are made but they just expect me to pay more based on their mess up and more than I authorized them to spend. read more

Excellent service! I was surprised by how fast they responded through my home warranty. They sent a technician, Joseph, the same day I filed the claim. However, he was professional and honest, he fixed it with a simple part replacement and got our hot water back in no time! Highly recommend him and this company. read more

I cannot thank Harris water Heater enough , we were without hot water and expressed our urgency to have hot water . Had our hot water heater go down Sunday night but was able to re-ignite however with much difficulty and unusual sounds from the heater so decided to keep appt that I had scheduled via our home warranty with First American and was referred to Harris Water Heaters. We have been very apprehensive with the contractors sent by our warranty company as our track record was 50% with previous contractors. Entire process with Harris was seamless and efficient from scheduling to the service itself which was within 12hrs of our request! Randy was our technician and we can corroborate others who have had nothing but praise for his work as the superlatives are justifiable. He was efficient in diagnosing and providing a solution. We would have no hesitation in using Harris again or referring them to friends/family. read more

[Updated] I bit the bullet and got them rescheduled through my HOW because its so much of a hassle to get your AO smith water heater replaced under warranty. That's another story for another day! But these guys pleasantly surprised me by scheduling and replacing the water heater the same day. They fixed all prior issues w/ hot water running in a few hours. The crew was professional and courteous. Thanks. Just a month after they installed a new water heater that seems faulty from the start, slowly leaking water from everywhere. They installed it as part of my home owner warranty. The person I spoke to explained that they can only come out if I raised another paid service request with Old republic. Even though they admitted it was a lemon and the pressure release was improperly installed. Now I'm expected to pay additional trade call fee for a poor job done in the first place. Hows that for quality of service and accountability? They are unwilling to diagnose the problem to claim a replacement water heater without charging me for a site visit. Unfair!! read more
