A bit of a long read but covers my whole experience. I get you pay for experience but you don't pay for crazy price gouging. My water heater started to leak on Saturday. I called my home warranty who scheduled my appointment with this company to replace it. They came out and wrote up a quote and sent me a quote based on what home warranty would cover vs what I had to pay out of pocket. I approved the work which was done. On Monday I got a call from them saying they quoted me wrong and my coverage didn't cover certain things after the tech on Saturday said he had to review my coverage before my quote. Monday they said I need to pay more money out of pocket (several hundred dollars) due to their mistake of my coverage and the clerk said if she was in on Saturday it would've been caught. So basically they spent my money without my approval and money I didn't authorize and are now expecting me to pay and told me I can't get a permit and or warranty work if it's not paid. They made a mistake not me. Also after reviewing the quote the code section has a list of parts. The mark up on parts is over 100% on basically every part. 80 dollars for a 2x4 piece of wood and 81 dollars for a drain pan which is less than 30.. I don't recommend this company due to the issues above. I understand mistakes are made but they just expect me to pay more based on their mess up and more than I authorized them to spend. read more

But these guys pleasantly surprised me by scheduling and replacing the water heater the same day. They fixed all prior issues w/ hot water running in a few hours. The crew was professional and courteous. Thanks. Just a month after they installed a new water heater that seems faulty from the start, slowly leaking water from everywhere. They installed it as part of my home owner warranty. The person I spoke to explained that they can only come out if I raised another paid service request with Old republic. Even though they admitted it was a lemon and the pressure release was improperly installed. Now I'm expected to pay additional trade call fee for a poor job done in the first place. His quote was not only comprehensive but also itemized easily to be understood. I contacted my home warranty company due to my hot water heater leaking and not providing me hot water. They dispatched a technician to diagnose the problem. This technician told me that I had a number of code violations with my water heater and that no repairs or replacement would be covered by my home warranty company. This technician told me that I would need to pay out of pocket $600 with no promises that the water heater would work again or pay him $6000 for a new water heater that wouldn't even fit into my water heater closet. This was all a lie as I had a home inspection when I bought my condo, which showed no code violations and 2 other plumbers confirm that there was no code violations. I have spoken with a manager here to give them the opportunity to take responsibility for lying to me about what my home warranty company will and will not cover and they refused to do this. This lie forced me to find another company to asses the issue with my 10+ year old water heater, as I can not afford to throw away $600 and still have no hot water and I certainly can't afford a $6000 water heater. I also couldn't go without hot water for 2 weeks or even more if the repair didn't work. This place is unethical and immoral, I warn you against using them for any of your hot water heater and or plumbing needs. read more

Their time to respond was fast. We got this company assigned by Fidelity National HW our home warranty insurance. Within a couple of hours, they showed up to check our water heater, I was working and my wife had to show him that our water heater was not working. Because we recently bought this property, we don't have proof of purchase of this water heater, the technician called the manufacturer to order the parts needed to get it fixed but he informed my wife that even the manufacturer will cover the parts she will need to pay for the part's installation which he quoted around $250.00 My wife called the water heater company, and they told her that we have no warranty since we are not the original owners of the water heater, so the manufacturer won't pay for repair and the technician informed the Home Warranty that the equipment WAS UNDER MANUFACTURER WARRANTY, which is not true. This has caused us more trouble than if he would just ask if we purchased this water heater or not. Anyway, I am not complaining about their service, but about their lack of communication with my wife, if he has informed the home warranty that the manufacturer's warranty is not transferable to the new owners, we would have already gotten our water heater repaired or replaced. We have been without hot water for more than 3 days, and the temperatures are dropping in the lower 40s this weekend and next week. We need our hot water fixed and now Fidelity National HW does not want to honor our claim because the technician reported that the unit was still under warranty. read more

Harris water heaters contacted me immediately and scheduled me for the next day. My technician was Randy. He delivered the news-I would need a new water heater. But he had all the materials to replace that same day. He even showed me how to empty the water heater and answered a few other questions that I had.
