My wife and I ate there on Friday Feb 27, 2026. The place was moderately crowded . We ate there because the fish fries happening in Marietta were overcrowded and food venue did not justify the wait. The building grounds and parking were every up-scale. My wife and I both ordered house salads and mine was very good - not so much for the wife's salad as my wife's choice of Italian dressing was not good as it tasted like oil . Not made to be served on the side due to settling and container offered no chance to mix at the table. Waitress was not very cordial in making an exchange for fries or explaining about the dressing. Wife ordered the fish and chips and I ordered the colossal fish sandwich . Both orders had a heavy batter with the layer next to the fish uncooked/wet . As we had waited long enough for the meal we decided not to send it back and risk the wrath of the waitress so we dug out the fish from the batter. The fish itself was ok but the taste of wet batter was not very good. We have eaten then 2 times previously this past summer and the meals were ok but we didnt order fish until now. If and that a big if, I go back I wouldn't order fish . I may give them one more shot with a burger however if its not a very good one I will call it my last horra!! On an upnote , the draft selection was very good and the chilled glass a nice touch. As for a recommendation -try it yourself but I wouldn't recommend the fish. read more

It seems the owner has placed all their money into the atmosphere and beauty of the restaurant and had little left to serve good food. The waitress did her best as it seemed she was the hostess and perhaps only waitress, but it was during lunchtime on a Wednesday so that may have had something to do with it. It was my husband's and my first time there and due to the high prices not matching the quality of food, it will probably be our last time. I got the blackened grouper with rice and cooked vegetables. There was no house bread served which I thought was odd considering the $24 entree. The portions were small, not much rice served under the fish. The food was cold and I had to ask for a lemon as my first bite was also very fishy. It was not properly blackened as it was just covered in butter with blackened seasoning on top. I excused the first fish bone I had to spit out of my mouth as I do eat a lot of fish and I know that can happen from time to time, but then I got a second and longer bone in my mouth. I couldn't finish eating it. This was not a quality grouper to say the least. My husband had the blackened grouper sandwich which he said was okay. He realized it didn't have the creole sauce that was supposed to come on it. If the prices were more reasonable, we might give it another chance, but I'll just stick with the reliable Texas Roadhouse. read more

Not my fav... it's a beautiful newer restaurant that doesn't feel like you're in the MOV. But the service and the food were lacking. I ordered pasta and it was very heavily sauced and had very little of the meat and seafood. The bread however was very good so that was one plus of River Town Grill. read more

This used to be my favorite restaurant in town but has really went downhill since the menu change. We went with friends and service was slow, we waited forever to even get water. I would've ordered more drinks but the server rarely came back. They removed my favorite drink - the Perfect Pear and can't make it off menu. Two of us ordered the white fish specifical and the green beans were raw. One of the staff - possibly a host -was rubbing lotion on his feet in the bathroom. Very good. Steaks are on par with Texas Roadhouse. Good variety of menu and fast friendly service. The price is little higher ($36 for a 14 oz ribeye) but is was delicious. Took the wife home dessert; a berry moscato tiramisu. Also looks good. read more

Seemed like tilapia (sewage fish). A few fries. Cooked in some horrendous oil, maybe safflower. Good fries are cooked in tallow. Dry and tasteless. Fish and breading were about 3/8 inch thick. New restaurant right on the river in Williamstown. They do not take reservations, so highly recommend going early on a Saturday night. We left at 6pm and there was a long wait of people waiting for a table. Parking was very accessible with a full private parking lot for the restaurant. Bathrooms were clean, server was friendly, and they have a full bar to choose from. It was a little cold and the drinks took a bit from the bar (since they were backed up on a wait). The food has really went down hill. The boneless wings are bad, the pasta is even worse. The pasta used to be really good but I believe they have changed their distributor. Nonetheless, the quality of food has suffered. The ghost pepper wings are not hot, which was really disappointing. The service has been slow the last two times we've been there. Since we were a table of more than 4 they first said they couldn't do that then said it was 45 min. I said ok then they walked away without writing me on the list to get someone to tell me it would be an hour. I like this restaurant. Good food, beautiful building and interior. You feel kind of fancy eating here, for the area. Expect the price to portion ratio to reflect that it's a little upscale. Do not get the sirloin, it's not good meat right now. Manager even said they've had several complaints, why would you even serve it? We added shrimp on for $10 and only got 3 medium size. We came up from Charleston for the soccer sectionals. Normally we head straight to the Boathouse as it is fabulous. This time we decided to see what all was available in the area and landed on Rivertown Prime. it was very easy to find, plenty of parking a newer place in a beautiful setting. Inside was clean and modern. we were seated promptly and our waitress greeted us. I decided on the Monte Cristo appetizers and a chicken caesar salad, The presentation was beautiful and the food was absolutely delicious. Thank you to the staff at Rivertown Prime for a great dinner. I seen a review that the place had horrible music. I don't know about others but, I don't go to a restaurant for their musical selections. The music was fine it was todays hits and was at the perfect loudness for us. Restaurant was unprepared for an evening during a holiday week. They were out of a few types of wine on the menu. About a half hour after they took order were told they were out of baked potatoes. Kitchen was not being managed and food was not coming out in a timely manner. Manager was walking around handing out appetizer cards but not very apologetic. Took over two hours to get food. Had to send one dish back because it was so overcooked it was inedible. Some items were cold because had been sitting. This restaurant has been opened only a few months and when they first opened the service and food quality was excellent. New building, and a pretty setting. A recent visit was disappointing. On a Sunday at 5 pm, they were out of bread, even with two servers one bottle of wine showed up while the other was quite delayed. We went to eat there to celebrate our anniversary. Prime Rib was on the menu for my lovely wife, but I opted for an 8 oz. Filet. Wrong choice! Naturally I ordered it medium rare, but the chef (?) decided to make it RAW! I had to send it back twice (yes twice) to get it to my liking. I went to Rivertown on May 15th with two friends. I ordered the Steak Salad with Italian dressing. The server was Greg Grimes. He neglected to add the salad dressing. I then requested the Italian dressing again. He brought it out then, but he proceeded to rudely tell me that he'd personally added the dressing already and that it was already on the salad. It obviously wasn't. The real problem is his very rude response. Even if I would have been incorrect, it's still not okay to argue with the customer. Greg Grimes should have some basic customer service training, or he should look for another job where he doesn't interact with the public. read more

I wish I could rate this place more highly. I've been here several times - from weekends to week days, dining in and pickup to go. The food is pretty good, and the service itself isn't bad. But the waits are unreasonably long. Not sure if it's a staffing issue or a kitchen issue but it always seems to come down to the food being held up for a LONG time. A handful of times we've waited 45-60 minutes for the food. The servers have always been friendly and timely with the drinks. The atmosphere is nice. But I literally never want to go here anymore and no longer consider it as an option because 45-60 minutes for an appetizer even or an entree is just too long! Food was very good. We both ordered filet and they came out as ordered. We sat on the patio and we're only one of two tables to begin with. Our waiter was originally very attentive and took care of our order. In the meantime, things got hectic for him as he had 6 other patio tables and a 12 top inside. We just had the best dining experience and on Father's Day! We ordered the Monte Cristo appetizer. It was hot, tasty, and enjoyable. I wanted a light dressing on my salad and our waitress, Shelby, suggested their tomato vinegarette and it was delicious! Our steaks were seasoned and grilled perfectly! One of the best. We've had at any local restaurant! Our baked potatoes were hot, fluffy, and awesome! Shelby returned to our table often and was one of the greatest servers we've had at any establishment in a long time. My favorite was part was the GM on duty, Chris (who looks like the owner's twin ) went to every table and asked if the food and service met our expectations! The staff was experiencing the usual pains of having staff call offs but they sure didn't let the guests suffer even a smidge! Back in town for a short period and was looking for restaurants to eat at. This place supposedly has a website, but it goes nowhere. That should have gave me a warning sign right there....stay out! Bar stools have no cushions or padding, so you will need to bring your own to be comfortable. Food was so-so this time around. Philly cheesesteak was very sloppy; reminded me of someone just throwing some meat on a bun and squirting some cheese on it. The hamburger patty was about the size of Wendy's patties. Not sure what they are trying to do here, but it sure isn't a steakhouse vibe. I definitely won't be going back. read more
