We contracted with River Rock late 2016. During our entire pool build we had issues. Crews with shotty workmanship, workers drinking on the job and leaving beer cans all over our property, multiple visits to fix bad grout job or loose rock over the waterfall because they didn't get it right on the first try and the WORST was the constant set appointments that were no call no show. We have been trying to get Chuck and Mike at River Rock to fix the issues we still have for months. Finally filed with the BBB and will have to seek legal action if they do not fix our broken lights (been 4 months outside the pool water with live current), all our loose flagstone that will cause a major accident if someone steps on it, our remote, which was not cheap, hasn't been working in the longest time and the deck color was either put on incorrectly or the product is defective because it is all pulling up. I suggest anyone look at all their reviews before electing to use this company. read more

Although, I was foolish enough to actually like Chuck and Mike at River Rock Pools, they are very personable, they did not live up to their promises. My job was a higher end job than I think they were used to as the quality of the craftsman they hired were extremely sub par, They started in May of 2014 and my pool was not plastered until January of 2015, I finally had to terminate them in April of 2015 since my pool was still not complete, We've had leaks since it first was filled up. We've spent thousands of dollars trying to find and fix leaks come to find out the ledge stone was not waterproofed behind or adhered properly and after less than a year started falling off in HUGE chunks, we have had 12 massive cracks in our gunite, and I know that they are aware of this because the gunite company told me they called them but NO ONE FROM river rocks has called me. So I am currently sitting with an empty pool fighting with the gunite company to repair the gunite and replaster my pool. A situation that was most likely caused by either the long time it took to ever get water into it to begin with or the fact that the waterline ledge stone tile was not waterproofed behind when it was installed. Either way they left this poor home owner in a jam with an unfinished, jacked up pool. read more

Our River Rock pool is over seven years old now. We worked with Chuck on the design features (freeform shape, beach entry, spa, waterfall, raised tanning deck) until his sketches reflected our vision. Mike managed the construction which lasted a little over 30 days from breaking ground until filling. Never any problems with the craft workers. We provided a pot of coffee in the morning and water/gatorade throughout the day (sometimes a little appreciation goes a long way). When the gunnite truck blew a hydraulic hose, they immediately soaked up the spilled oil with sand and were back the next day with pressure washers to clean the whole street. Chuck recommended not cutting corners on the mechanical work (pumps, filter, returns, skimmers, salt cell, cleaner, controls). We went with his recommendations and have never had any issues with operability or water quality and we don't use a pool service. The pool is surprisingly simple to maintain; 4-5 bags of salt a year, 10-15 lbs of stabilizer in the spring, a quart of acid every 2 weeks, empty the skimmers and cleaner a couple of times a week and wash the filter cartridges (this is the worst job) 3-4 times a year. Because of the pool's age we are now starting to repair or replace items such as the filter cartridges, the salt cell, filter motor (possible lightning strike, the contactor shorted out also), cleaner rebuild. Manufacturer warranties are typically 1-2 years so, as I'm a handyman, I've addressed all these issues myself. A few hairline cracks have developed in the concrete decking but they disappear when we repaint every few years and some flagstone coping has loosened up due to the recent cold winters but a tube of epoxy caulking fixed that. Bottom line, if we were to do it all again, would we use River Rock Pools? Absolutely! When building a pool, like any other construction project, there will likely be issues but Chuck and Mike delivered and we couldn't be happier with our pool. read more

Mike and I have always tried to give every customer the best pool and experience possible. We have built over 40 pools in the Commons and over 60 pools in the Atascocita, Humble, Kingwood area. No excuse there was a crew who had a beer after work and they were fired immediately. We use only LED low voltage lights in our pools for safety. This is construction and there can be issues but we have always tried to resolve quickly. In this case we tried many times but gates were always locked and couldn't access property. As far as TS, when people make 20 changes on a pool and owes you $30,000 we stop the project. The statements are not correct and she doesn't know the difference between gunite and plaster. Thank you for letting me defend my company. We wouldn't be in business for almost 12 years if we didn't build quality pools. read more
