HORRIBLE STAFF! HORRIBLE MANAGEMENT! We went to a nice house wedding of a friends on a Saturday and she kindly got a Shuttle to take everyone home once it ended. On the Shuttle was all couples in their 30's and myself. There was 5 of us that decided it would be fun to go to the River Rock so the Shuttle was going to drop us off there and then take the rest of the couples home. When we pulled into the River Rock parking lot and walked off the bus (not even at the door yet) a guy manager in a cowboy hat comes up to us and says " we are not letting you in". We asked why? And then an array of lies started to come out.. first he said " someone stumbled off the bus" .. that was not true.. then he said " your music was loud when you guys were pulling in".. also not true.. I said " you are lying about this and prejudging the whole situation". He then said.. " we had people come in off a party bus and it was bad for the bartenders".. Also not my problem and only 5 people are coming in.. we are in our 30's and should not be judged based off of something that happened that did not involve us. We were completed prejudged and the situation they "thought" it was was completely wrong. They refused to let us in and we had done nothing wrong, we did not even get to the door. Management were complete liars made a horribly wrong decision and no one should be treated this way.. We are locals and come to this bar all the time. You took loyal customers and turned them away from your place. I recommend anyone not to go to this place since they can not even treat their loyal customers properly. Word travels fast and I have to say you ruined the night by making up an entire situation based off of a different experience you guys had. read more

Looks like it would be nice to sit outside in the summer. We went in early January for a drink after dinner. Bartenders were sloppily dressed. One blatantly was flirting with my husband which not only unprofessional but disrespectful. I ordered a "skinny girl" drink. The bartender looked at the drink on the menu and said "girls only order these in the summer". Really? Ok, well I'm the rare breed that wants one in the winter. We watched 20 somethings get drunk and the Olympics too. After about an hour we left. Maybe we will check out the outdoor area in the summer. Maybe....oh and the pizza looked decent! read more

Went here for my girlfriends birthday, she wanted to sit outside and enjoy views while we eat. Well we never even got the chance to eat there. We waited over 45min for seating outside, it started to drizzle and they stopped seating outside, understandable even tho it was BARELY raining. We were told it would be another Hr if we opted to eat inside as we were going to be placed on the BOTTOM of the list. who waits 2 hrs to be seated? Not myself, we left very disappointed. read more

Great that they opened back up after the storm, but service was horrendous. Had to remind the waitress to check on the other food. My meal came out 15 minutes before anyone else's. Food was acceptable. Had to get my own condiments from another table after I had already asked (and waited). Passed by and kept going to another table that she was apparently friends with right next to ours and just about ignoring us. Reminded me of service that you would get from Buffalo Wild Wings..... First place I had left a really bad tip, ever. read more

We love it. Continuously good food, great happy hour menu and great bartenders. We're regulars and proud of it.

This is one of my favorite places to eat. There are so many tables by the windows to see the view and outdoor seating! No matter what you're craving they have it. Great sushi and pizza but the nachos are my favorite. All around great restaurant and bar, it's such a fun place to eat or drink! read more

The food is amazing , the service is great , I also love the fact that they have such big variety of food such as sushi :) it's just a very friendly environment and the food specials they have on the weekend are killer , I definitely recommend people to go eat here . read more

We went for Sunday night dinner during NFL and the bar area was packed and very loud. Noise level was tolerable in the dining area. Plenty of room between tables and the outside area was still open. Our four choices were portobello sandwich, fish and chips, turkey burger and chicken & broccoli scamp. Thumbs up all around. Service good, prices provide fair value. read more

Went here a few weeks ago for the night life. Lights came on ar 1:30am or whatever time it was, letting everyone know they're closing soon. My friends and I were on our way out the door, after exiting I turned around and they were not behind me as they just were. So I went back inside, saw them talking to an old friend, and started walking towards them. A bouncer at that point PHYSICALLY stopped me and said no one goes back in. I explained the situation and told him I just want to get my friends and go, I'm tired, and it's 15° outside. He said no and that I'm lucky he's even allowing me to stand inside the door. I asked him why he's being a jerkoff, and he then sweared at me and pushed me out the door and made me fall down. I only had one drink that night, I was the DD. I was not being belligerent. I will never go here again. I have since let my family know about this, they will never go there again. They used to go all the time, a lot of them, including extended family, and my girlfriends family. That bouncer lost you thousands of dollars in the long run from that incident alone, just from my family. Imagine what this review will do, and who else this bouncer has and will piss off. Things need to change. read more

I was so excited to try this place, however I was extremely disappointed that we never had the chance. We waited 20 mins at our table without being greeted by a server. I went to the hostess and service manager and they did not correct the situation. As we were leaving the restaurant's lobby they asked if we wanted food to go. Very strange and very disappointing. read more

Never Again!! The only thing this place has going for it is the location. My husband and I went for dinner on a Sat night. We were told the wait was 45 minutes to an hour and we could sit outside at the tiki bar and someone will come out and call our name. My husband went in 45 minutes later and was told our table was still not ready. No problem... until when I went in an hour and 20 minutes later and my name was crossed off. The "hostess" with a flower in her hair and booty shorts said "oops.. I didn't cross your name off! I'll try to get you a table as soon as possible." (There were multiple tables open outside) She sat us right in front of the door even though there were many other tables available. We asked to move to move to the next table away from the door and no one could figure out if we could or not. It was like asking them to perform brain surgery. After we sat down, they turned on really really bright lights and everyone was complaining.. but they left them on. Our waitress was nice, but we waited 15 minutes for her to come to our table. My husbands margarita was disgusting and the manager actually came over and said "someone here just doesn't know how to make a margarita! I have to figure out who that is." REALLY? The table next to us obviously had a problem because they all got up and left before ordering anything. We ordered the bacon wrapped scallops for an appetizer. They were ice cold and not very good. We decided to order burgers because we were scared that the other food wasn't going to be good because we saw plates and plates of food going back to the kitchen. The burgers were okay. I asked the bus boy if he could ask my waitress to get me a ginger ale because she disappeared for a while and he said he didn't know what waitress we had.. sorry! The dance music came on loud in the middle of dinner.. not a good atmosphere. I've never been in a restaurant before where I have seen so much food sent back and a staff that has no clue what is going on. The waitress who was working the next group of tables continually brought things to the wrong table and seemed to be lost. I think this restaurant needs to invest in a training program for their workers. read more

A friend and I met at the River Rock for a weekday lunch. It seems I'm the last Brick resident to try this place. As I parked my car I noticed birds flying and huge open bags of garbage overflowing dumpster with broken chairs piled nearby. Very poor first impression. The restaurant was not busy and the hostess accommodated our request for a window seat. My companion and I both had he ahi tuna salad. Pricey at $14.95 but very good. The server was attentive and allowed us to enjoy a leisurely lunch. read more

This place is vety mediocre. Idk how its always so busy. The last time i went i got a long island iced tea and it was like drinking straight bitters and the waitress knew nothing about the beers, she was no help. I ordered nachos and said they could come out with my familys dinners. Waited foreverrrr for burnt chips and burnt cheese with disgusting chili. The waitress did take it off the bill cause even she said it was horrible. So i won't eat there again but maybe go for some drinks. Deff no LIT's. read more

Food was horrible. Mixed drinks weren't even that good. The service was fine and atmosphere nice. I live in the area and won't be going back. read more

Had our anniversary party on October 14th 2017. Our Waitress staff Nancy and Louise were fantastic. Also our Bartender Kelly was terrific. Maria who set the whole thing up for us what above and beyond for us. All I can say is Thank you for all you did for our special day. We had over 60 guests and everyone loved the service. Look forward to our next party. You all were great. Frank and Kathleen read more

I threw my daughter her baby shower at the River Rock this past Saturday. We had 60 guests and I did not hear 1 complaint from anyone. It was a wonderful stress free experience. From the time of booking until the end of the shower. I booked the party through the manager Maria. When I met with her to book the shower I left feeling confident I had nothing to worry about. Maria contacted me a few days before the shower to confirm all of our plans and go over the timeline. The servers that tended to the party were outstanding!! They had everything set up by the time I arrived which was 1 hour prior to the shower. As the elderly guests arrived I witnessed the servers offering to carry the gifts in for them. The girls made sure guests drink were never empty as the provided tableside bar service. I chose to go with the buffet. Food was amazing! guests are still raving about the house dressing on the salad. My daughters favorite was the penne vodka. I loved the beef medallions! We opted for the chocolate fountain and it was a hit! At the end of the shower my son in law was able to pull his truck up to the side door right where the gifts were piled to load them. the servers even helped with that!! I couldn't be any happier with the services provided by the River Rock!! I would definitely book another function here. Again thanks Maria for overseeing everything River Rock is lucky to have someone like you!! read more

OK in all honesty, I vowed I wouldn't return but after receiving an email from the owners asking for a second chance, I went back to give it another shot. One of the reasons is that I live so close to the place, I hope that it would be so outstanding or even reasonable, it would be a great place for dinners and guests during the year. So my wife and I met with Marco and Juan to give it a shot. Now granted, they knew who I was so you would have to take the service and quality of food SHOULD be better than the previous week. Let's get the negatives out of the way first. Our menu's had two "specials" inserts, one from last Sunday and one that was being used that day. I asked our waitress which one and she didn't know and had to ask management. Considering it was 6:00 PM, I was suprised she wasn't current. I overheard the table behind us that had 6 people complain the didn't see their waitress in awhile to get another round of drinks so one of them got up and went to the bar to get them. I truly believe that the way they spread out the waiting staff, it's very hard for the waitress to provide adequate service. She had tables inside as well as the deck (which is long and divided by smoking and non-smoking areas) and she had table in both. (Yes, I'm still a smoker). Suggest stations rather than ups, so that the staff can oversee their area. This will reduce looking around for her / him to get served and have they can oversee a section rather than spread out tables. Back to smoking, it was a windy evening and other than me asking, our waitress never brought a clean ash tray or emptied the existing. (you put a good one over the dirty ashtray, remove it so ashes don't fly around and then leave the fresh one). It also took 20 minutes from the time we ordered appitizers to us getting them. AND NO BREAD AGAIN (what's with that anyway). Now the good. The food was terrific!! We ordered apps, 1/2 dozen clams on a half shell served on an ice covered dish. The clams were cold and good and "Portuguese drunking sailor" which was a special of the day consisting of clams, mussels, sausage, peppers & onions in a white wine broth. The broth was so good that there was a small peice of garlic bread but really needed more bread to enjoy the broth. I asked for bread and enjoyed the broth. (give more than one small slice with that app, PLEASE!). Our dinners were also on the days special. My wife had chicken and pasta which was terrific in taste. I had the stuffed (crab) Salmon which was one of the best I have had. I didn't want to finish since I wanted to have again the next evening. Overall- I hope that this wasn't a set up since they knew we were coming. As of now, we are even and I will go again to try without any fanfare. I hope it continues to florish and stay consistant as I so want them to succeed. They still need to train their staff and get good workers who enjoy the restaurant industry and I'm not sure if management has enough expierence in a full service restaurant but I wish them well and success. They still need to change the inside. Loved the deck! And we will see them soon. read more

Descent place for sitting outside on the Manasquan River.. Roasted clams are great and so was the Surf and Turf.. The surf better than the turf.. It's better for seafood so focus on that. They have pizza and sushi as well if you are not into seafood. Great if you have a boat and want to dock for lunch or dinner. read more

We went to the River Rock on Fathers Day without reservations and a group of 8. They were very accommodating. It was everything we wanted. One dad wanted seafood and to sit on the water. I wanted sushi and my husband wanted beef. All options were offered. My daughter got a seafood entree in a pineapple that was delicious. The oysters and clams were so good-fresh and not a drop of sand. Our waitress and all the bus boys couldn't do enough for us. After our meal we went to the beach bar which was fun also(and had live music). Thank you, River Rock for a perfect Fathers Day! read more

Spent quality time with my niece this evening at the River Rock. The service was great. Our waitress came over quickly for our drink order and reviewed the specials. Food came out quickly and was to order. Throughout the meal the waitress was attentive. The atmosphere was pleasant and the music was really good. I highly recommend stopping by the River Rock if you are in the area. They even have valet parking. read more

We like this place & have been there a few times this week. On our last visit, the bar was full of fruit flies. The bartender was wiping everything down, but to no avail. We had to ask him to move the fruit holder, as it was full of flies. There was also cans of Raid under the sink. Not too appetizing. We won't be back. read more

Service people suck. Manager is a total ass. Have 40 tables open but say hour wait. They have no clue how to run a restaurant. If we weren't meeting a large group here would be gone. Total dicks!! Not to mention tables left unoccupied for 15-20 minutes. So their reasons were crap. read more

Three friends and I had lunch here the last week in December. While the service was excellent the food was not so. Two of us shared a nacho platter that was simply awful. The chips had been layered on top of ground beef and after having the cheese melted on top they were totally soggy. Also after the cheese had been baked, most of the platter was covered in shredded lettuce, diced tomatoes, black olives and jalapeños making it impossible to get at the dish without having to remove all of the toppings. Not a great way to start lunch! The "Jersey burger" that I ordered was equally disappointing. While I ordered it medium rare, the resultant patty was cooked all the way through. If you can't get the cook on a burger right, don't even try to put it on the menu. The pork roll was equally well done making the sandwich a total disappointment. (The fries were decent - I'll give them that much!) The location is great with a wonderful view, but I could've got that free from the bridge right next door. With so many other great restaurants in the vicinity I'm not going to waste my time going back! read more

One my favorite restaurants to go to in Brick! The food is always great, the view is beautiful and the drinks are perfectly poured.

So happy the River Rock has re-opened after Hurricane Sandy did major damage! Food is always great and the atmosphere sitting out on the river is just perfect for the warmer months!! Welcome back!! read more

My husband and I come here often because it's close to our house. In the summer there is a great view of the Manasquan River from the outside deck. Food is ok. I have to say they now have sushi and on our last visit (12/26/14) I tried the spicy salmon roll and the spicy tuna roll. Both were excellent! Very fresh and the spicy salmon roll was probably one of the best rolls I ever had. Service was kind of slow though. My husband had to ask another server to get our server. This is more of a sports bar and to me not a very child friendly restaurant. read more

Great food, drinks are made very well. The place is clean as well. Entertainment is pretty good- band on Friday nights, DJ on Saturday. Great local spot. read more

Good place for lunch, happy hour, after a movie, they're open until 2am! Good Hamburger, (can substitute fries for baked potatoe!) appetizers oysters & clams are served ice cold, they were NOT sandy they were delicious. Great salad choices. Sushi is fresh and the pizza is thin crust, right out of the oven HOT & delicious. There's plenty of choices on their menu to please everyone. Outside dining is available, it's delightful. Pleasant staff, attentive & accommodating. The River Rock participates in Buy in Brick program! :-) read more

I am Vegan and usually have a hard time finding something other than a frozen veggie burger to eat at non-vegan friendly restaurants. I have to say I was more than happy to see a portobello mushroom burger with roasted red peppers on it. I ordered it and it was really good. Thank you River Rock for considering the vegetarians and vegans. Great job thinking outside the box and actually putting something on the menu that is enjoyable and not just having the frozen veggie burgers. Good food doesn't just have to be about meat. read more

Like many others have said the place has went really downhill. This place use to be the go to about three years ago now the service has declined and the new security is unreasonable and very rude. Overall very sad to see a place that was the best around decline in all aspects of the service industry. read more

Just went for dinner tonight. We were told it would be a 20 minute wait . No buzzer or PA system. The hostess said she would find us. Good luck. The bar was crowded and I didn't see her looking for anybody. Went back to the hostess stand and waited another 20 minutes for a table. We were seated in the private room area which had absolutely no atmosphere. I felt like I was sitting in a cafeteria. We ordered our meal and the menu said it came with a small salad and a choice of 2 different potatoes or rice and fresh vegetables. The waitress never asked what we wanted with our meals. They just came out with rice. When I asked the waitress about salad, she said "oh, do you want it?". Well if it is supposed to come with the dinner, it should be brought to the table. the food is way overpriced, mediocre service and the management doesn't have a clue. Will definitely not go back. read more

Great sports bar decent prices, good selection of beers but bouncers attempted to not let me in on one occasion saying I had a fake ID, I am 24 years old, I argued with bouncer, one stated my ID checked out other gave me a hard time. I threatened to leave and that my friends would be coming with me(bein that I turned 24 two days prior they were there for drinks with me). Provided credit cards, old school ID, bank account card and was finally allowed in once they threatened to call the police on me. I told them I would gladly wait. Bouncers let me in. Needless to say I was annoyed by this point. Bar tenders are fine, atmosphere for sports is perfect, drinks are good. it is great in the summer time outside. read more

Stopped by for a second time. Service was still awful. The umbrella blew up and our drinks shattered. Could not find our waitress and then we were charged for those drinks. Will not be going back read more

I only gave it one star because the waitress was ok. This was one of the WORST restaurants I have ever eaten at in my entire life. Cesar salad, not romaine but brown lettuce, they must have put the ceasar dressing on with an eye dropper. Ordered the steak medium, it came out rare, told the waitress she took it back and brought it back again, it was cut in half and still raw on the inside and BURNT on the outside, veg's were cold. Salmon tasted frozen....all in all just a bad experience. Head across the bay to Harpoon Willy's for some good food. read more

Meh. Service wasn't that great. It was very loud. Food selection and beer selection wasn't anything to write home about either. But then again you were in Brick so what do you expect. read more

Tried this place a couple times, and really tried to give it a chance. I just don't understand how it's always crowded in here. Food is average at best, and there are always flies, just sitting inside at the bar. It's nice inside but gross when the bartender has a fly swatter out in plain view while you're eating. Don't even think about getting service on a night there is a game or a fight on tv. You need serious ninja skills to get up to the bar and actually order a drink. read more
