BEST DAAM**N Bar in Bend!!! No need to splurge on their freaking AMAZING food either! Super Delish and well priced! During my six day trip to Bend I made it to River Pig four out of the six days! Now that's saying something!!! Being a Cali girl road trippin solo, this has been my favorite joint by far!! The staff totally made me feel at home and not the weirdo at the bar alone, no one likes that feeling, haha! I got to know my servers Taylor and Amelia who were on point and quick! Im a server and these girls blew me away!!! Mad props girls!!! Not what you would expect in a bar setting. I also had the best daam*n drink of my 34 year old life!!!! The Basil Collins was to die for, instant snap worthy. I honestly had to meet the bar tenders at that point, Crystal and Garret. These two rocked the bar like no other and friendly, not like those places where your just another average joe. It was a pretty epic experience out in Bend thanks to River Pig and its amazing staff! I should mention I did meet their cook Patrick and the bar back Daniel they were super friendly and off the charts too. This bar has some amazing peeps! The worse New Years Eve party we have ever had! $60 for two of us to get in just to be pushed around, you couldn't move and impossible to dance! It was not enjoyable but also a major safety hazard! Drinks were getting splashed all over because of people trying to get by and people being pushed and shoved. Nobody besides the table dancers had room to move! You couldn't get a drink because they were so understaffed for the amount of people they allowed in. I am a local and know of many other places that serve much better drinks, friendlier staff, and would never pack their customers in like sardines to bring in the New Year! read more

I love River Pig so much!! They always have amazing service and are on top of our needs. Their mac n cheese is top notch, too. Typical saloon atmosphere with the huge projector TV that plays the Ducks games. Our server last night was Taylor and she was so sweet and made our RP experiences better than ever! I would like a refund to the New Years Eve Party. Similar to the post below, we waited in line to find out they were at capacity and only letting people in as others leave. Standing in a 20 degree parking lot is not how I planned on spending New Years Eve. Being from out of town, Bend has has shown such great hospitality, but this left us with a sour opinion. In from out of town for NYE, bought tickets way in advance only to be left out in 24° weather for over an hour while the security tells us they are packed to capacity, this was at 9:30, there were over 100 people left out in the cold. We were at the front of the line and watched as "friends" of the owners were let in ahead of us again and again. Having spent $30 ea on what amounted to cover charge non refundable tickets and having made zero other plans for New Years we waited. Once we were able to get in, they said only 40 people would be allowed in still leaving many people who had tickets out in the cold. Getting inside however wasn't much of a treat. Not even 11 pm yet and they only had 2 people behind the bar, only one person appearing to get drinks. There were no other services, the bar was no joke 10 people deep all around it to attempt getting service. There was no staff, nothing to do but stand next to irritated people. Horrible experience. With the infinite other choices in Bend it was my fault for choosing the River Pig for my evening. Granted this is one bad night but I assure you I will not make that mistake again as will the hundreds they left stranded out in the cold on NYE. read more

Stopped in to check this place out before a group of us were going to meet here. The decor is old western but, the music was loud vibe music and found it obnoxious. Certainly isn't a place a group of us want to meet to visit. The nachos where good and the soup was ok. Beer selection is limited. Doubt we will return. read more

Sorry, man. My mom has been raving about this place for weeks and I was excited to try it out, but 30 seconds into entering a condescending waitress demanded my ID and then told us that minors weren't allowed. From reading other reviews I gather that minors are either a) allowed until 4pm or b) only allowed on the patio (and until 4pm). Yet, it was basically a "get out of here" conversation, and it honestly upset me. I don't want to be dramatic because you might not take me seriously, but honestly the way I was talked to sucked. I'm 20, not 15, and if you had just told me that minors weren't allowed in a more respectful way then fine. Fine. But basically being told that I wasn't welcome, and then having a line of day drinkers laughing at me as I walked out straight sucked. I just don't understand why you would run a business that doesn't allow minors, or I guess you do but only until 4? My family and I were in there way before 4pm, also. Makes no sense at all. I don't like kids either, I wouldn't want an establishment overrun with them, and clearly it's not a family friendly place. I get it. It just doesn't seem to make any practical sense to bump out a 20 and a half year old, who is not drinking, and is clearly just out with her family on an afternoon, and thus kick out a larger group. I know that's the rules, fine, but as a business owner y'all might wanna re-evaluate that, or if minors really are allowed before 4, make sure all your waitstaff knows that. I was excited to try the food here and it's lame knowing that I'm not allowed to step foot in here at all. This was a really upsetting experience, and sorry if this review does seem over dramatic or unnecessary. It's not a good look, and even when I am of legal age I don't plan on coming here. I'm sure this is a great place to go if you're into bar scenes, but there's almost no place in Bend that doesn't allow minors, at least for some period of time. Really confused and unhappy with this experience. Ended up going to Deschutes Brewing instead and had a much better time. read more

I was visiting from Santa Cruz (CA) and there seems to a pub on every corner in Bend. In a few short days, I fell into and out of a bunch, but few were as comfortable and inviting as River Pig. Yeah, I never met a bad bartender, never felt unwelcome anywhere, and I tried what seemed like a hundred different brews with vaguely clever and antisocial names, but what (or who) made this place stand out was Katie. She is a lovely young woman called out from behind the bar to every would-be patron passing through. Often they couldn't hear her, but her welcome was friendly and her smile genuine. Me and a (local) buddy joined Katie at the bar where she recommended for me a nice, very chilled cider. She kept the conversation light and checked in regularly to see if we needed anything. With a thousand pubs around Bend and all of them offering similar fare, I have to say my favorite on this visit was River Pig mostly because of Katie. Her amiable service made the trip worth it. read more

Garrett took great care of us on a late night on a Tuesday after working with great drinks and excellent food that was very decently priced for Bend. Lamb burger was excellent usually pretty hesitant about lamb meat, but the lamb burger was to die for and fresh pressed not frozen which was a huge perk. Rest of menu looked awesome and will defiantly be back to try more menu items. read more

River Pig Saloon is just what Bend needed! This place has quickly become one of my favorites, for so many reasons. Their food menu is on point, with a great variety that caters to all different types of eaters. The fried pickle chips are like crack, so definitely start with those! They have a really unique cocktail menu, and a good selection of beer and wine (I love the sparkling rosé!). I've been there for dinner, business meetings, late night, and every time it's been consistent - awesome, friservice, amazing food and drinks!! Can't wait to go back! read more

I really, really want to like this place! The decor and atmosphere is fun and unique. It's roomy and set up well for watching a game or socializing. Personally I'm not big into watching sports and would prefer music over ANOTHER sports bar in bend but whatever. I've been here a few times now and it just does not deliver. My big complaint is that the service is an absolute joke! I mean a JOKE! The first time I went here we sat at the bar about 5 feet from the bartender the entire time and could not get so much as a water without flagging him down with great effort. We basically were serving ourselves because the bartender and wait staff simply did not seem to care that our drinks had been empty for 20 minutes or that we may want to order food. Not so much as a smile or even eye contact that you could use to catch his attention. We literally felt invisible and basically unwelcome here each time we went. The food is just ok and the drinks are expensive and weak. On a positive, they do have happy hour pricing and the liquor selection is probably one of the best in town. River pig could have easily been my favorite spot in town but poor service, mediocre food, expensive measured drinks and an unwelcoming staff just ruined any enthusiasm I had for this place. Hoping to try it again in a few months with better results. Fingers crossed read more

However, I can't bring myself to go back due to the rude blonde bartender which is unfortunate. As much as i'd like to go back I can't support a business that is so rude for absolutely no reason. LOVE river pig! We have always had an amazing time at this bar. They are always a good time and usually have a great attitude! However, the new staff is not up to par. We had a waitress who obviously needs a little bit more training. She was snooty and impatient and blatantly rude towards the end of our visit. We came back a couple of days later and she made it a point to be rude to us again. Definitely will be coming back but will make it a point not to sit with her. read more

RIVER PIG in BEND!! Yayyy!! I've been to the one in Portland before, and I am so glad it's here :) On a regular basis, this is a great spot to come for dinner and drinks. Lots of beer options, and a great pub menu, also with some good vegetarian options too, for us non-carnivores. The decor is so cool. It's got a rustic feel to it, with an elevated charm. Great lighting and ambiance. The staff is lovely, upbeat, and friendly. The owner is around a lot, which is rare for a lot of places. He cares about his bar and it's employees... and they all seem happy to be there I wandered in on a Saturday a few weeks back and there was an awesome DJ keepin the crowd goin, so I decided to spend NYE here and it was a HUGE party! So many options and so much fun to be had! It seems like from when River Pig opened, it was an instant hit... and I look forward to hangin there more in 2019. Wait staff needs some serious work. After being told by a waitress to take a seat we waited for 10 min without anyone stopping by our table, even though they walked by several time as we were sitting next to the kitchen so we were seen just ignored. Working myself in the food service industry for over 10 years I would have understood if the place was busy but it was only maybe under halfway full. We finally had to track down a waitress and were met with extreme attitude and both drinks we ordered were forgotten and she did not even notice probably never been rang in anyway.
